I presently own nokia N900 and N95. Those are great phones. No matter how you bash or ill talk this phone /N8/, its a must buy for me. My friends that purchased are xtremely glad with it. Sorry haters. Feel free to hit your heads on the wall.

I've had many reliable Nokia's in my time so that's the reason I've gone for this lovely phone and its simply gorgeous in every way. It's looks, the feel, the smooth screen and the videos are outstanding! the camera is amazing. Making and receiving calls are excellent as is texting in alphanumeric-although a tadge harder as keys have been moved-but damn good.
I've also found contrary to popular belief, that it's battery and processor are as good as any other smart phone, indeed as any other phone I've had.

The N8s camera is not as good as my old Nokia N82 in close up images ,i have tested both together an the camera on the N8 needs a software up date to take better pictures at close up items,the cameras o.k taking long photos an flash o.k,so hope Nokia do give us a up date soon to improve the camera more

i work in a shop and just got one as soon as they came into stock ater playing with reps prototype and thought it was nice after having it for a day its been freezing , wont down load music starit from web sites , the turn sensor keeps turning its self off and while in 3g network i try to vid call and says cant do vid call out side 3g network.

now press "settings"
now press the icon at teh bottom right
"exit shell"
:)
now that ur out, go to the phone settings, themes,general.. there you can change ur themes,

N8 has 256rams, with virtual memory
i tried to demonstrate how practical it is
i opened the new opera beta, symbian based
and opened 8 diff mobile sites, all are relatively complex
then i closed the tabs, and opened 13 tabs of engadgent, which is the heaviest of em
from this point on, i havent closed anything, so the opera remained running, with all tabs open...
i started opening other apps(have in mind, im using SPB shell..
list of apps opened
1-SPB SHEL(heavy)
2-Menu
3-ovi store
4-nimbuzz
5-music player
6-screensnap
7-opera mini with 13 HEAVY tabs opened
8-angry birds, (heavy)
9-photos (meduim)
10-file manger
11-settings
12-Web browser(1 tab, meduim)
13-ovi maps(heavy)
14-Opera mobile(1 tab, meduim)
15-asphalt 5(heavy)
i decided to kill it, and opened needforspeed, yes the memory error poped now :D, i mean, if it didnt, i wouldnt know wat to say in this post :D
at this point, need for speed closed, and opera mini closed too.. both without my permission .. but the rest of apps and games were still running
phone BARELY slowed down, even with all those apps up :)

I changed the default black b... moreAs i remember s60v5 apps work on the n8 so here goes, i hope it works for you. Download 2 apps that being Y-tasks from ovi and the other being M.Gaurd from Netqin. Use the M.Gaurd to set the spb to stop as an auto start-up app. Use the Y-task to force close the spb shell when you need to. For the background theme go to settings and change the background. It normally comes with a few pre-loaded so from there you can select the original one you had. Hope that helps. Some guys stated s60v5 apps dont work too well on the n8. Try it and if they lag or hang then un-install them. Worth a try?

1. N8 has only 680 MHz processor: Believe me Symbian is by born very efficient. If u ever own a Mac and try to run a Windows 7 in a virtual machine then u know how slow it is. Processor doesn't define speed. I started with a 233MHz pentium processor with 32MB RAM which ran Windows 98 extremely fast with all Office applications, a bunch of productivity apps and a host of games. To give a recent example look at Windows Vista, which runs very slow on the same computer compared to Windows 7 or Mac OS X!
2. N8 has only 256MB RAM: Again u don't need that much RAM. The Symbian^3 has "Writable data paging" which works like virtual memory. And don't forget, Symbian is built from ground up to be battery, memory and processor efficient. No other OS (including Android) claims that feat.”
I WAS UNDECIDED BUT AFTER READING REVIEWS, MAJORITY ARE POSITIVE, I HAVE MADE MY MIND UP TO GET ONE ONCE WE GET BACK TO US LATER THIS MONTH FROM DEPLOYMENT.

naveen , 01 Nov 2010hey friends i'm naveen .. i want to buy a new phone i can keep upto 20,000 so please sujest me... moren8 will be more than 20k for a few more months...it is selling pretty well in my home town(Shimla)..the C7 has also become available...it gives you more hardaware keys but compromises on the camera(not to worry about from what i have read in a few reviews)...but the gogd news for you is that there was atleast 1 retailer who was selling the C7 for 20k...only silver colour was available though...other retailers were asking 21k for it...so i would suggest you go for C7 if the limit on your budget can not be crossed..i bought an n8 for my brother as it loked just stellar in blue...
Note: you should try to bargain for C7 to get it for 20k if it is being sold for more. It usually costs the retailers around 12k. So dont feel bad about it.
