Guys check software update new update is there called the phone apps....really don't know it improves which apps.but iam sure it improves the phones performance.....enjoy guys...cheers

Why do you want to own a phone man? Do you need one? Why not get a generic device that can just make calls and IM as unique features are not your thing? I doubt you ever crossed paths with a N8, to say the least...
My opinion, witch was not asked for nor is it relevant but than again nor are any or your posts and I read almost all of them, is that you have personal issues. To spend so much time here and to pretend being a let down customer, 'voice from a kindred spirit', when everyone sane here knows you can't be human...because, you are a troll. You take it so personal that good judgment and reasoning completely clouded your sight so you can't seem to grasp the reality around you anymore and your only world of existance manifests itself in this little forum. You keep jamming with the low RAM and CPU fud but that is just a indicator of being misinformed, angry, paid by a third party or just plain old 'being a troll'. People that read this forum know what the phone can do with its hardware as there are countless videos demonstrating it. Why don't you go to a allaboutsymbian.com forum and try your tactics there? I'm sure your wisdom would be much more appreciated. If, by any chance, you are indeed a genuine and honest person that has only one goal of spreading the word that this device is not worth the hype, than I must say you are just full of $hit. Plain & simple. You could just stop posting here and save face, but, your brain would explode with vanity so guess thats a no go. Shame, but at least I'll be here with you as I to have issues when I took 15min from my time to respond a fud engine such as yourself.

registration is free and will take only a minute. there will a dropbox on the bottom right end of the homepage, click on the dropbox and select either games or apps or themes under Symbian ^3 (around the middle portion of the list)
I installed many games like asphalt 5, avatar, real football, GT racing etc(all HD games) along with other games.Also got apps like mobile lock pro, Swipe input(which works great by the way), and loads of other apps including mobile wi-fi hotspot software.
So it will not be a waste of time for anyone who tries...... NB:some games like football and avatar are unsigned and u need to sign it before install. u have to apply for a certificate and key on a specifeid site( can find out details in "" How to Signed Symbian's Application/Games in PC "" forum topic.. is actually very very easy .....only issue is that u have to wait 4-6 hrs for getting a certificate. that certificate and key can be used for the next two years or so for installing all unsigned games and apps)

[deleted post]Slow and buggy n8? Lol. Nokia certainly won't be sending me your unit. But if they did, their service station is just a 15 minutes drive away. I'ld walk in and get myself another one and a glass of cold water for free.
Some people, myself for instance, can't do without true multi tasking and parallel processing. Heck, i'm doing it right now!

if hundreds of people are more than satisfied, wouldnt you say you have a faulty phone?
its not impossible. you're here bashing nokia about one faulty phone. you're ridiculous...

And Yes I am angry and venting here as it was here where I spent months getting excited for this phone reading how great it would be. I could of had a different phone ages ago but no I waited and waited to get this amazing phone which turned out be be anything but amazing.
Why say things like 'Any normal person...' I'd be normal to you if I were bigging up the phone wouldn't I (you prick)

No I don't claim to be phone expert but I see that the phones that do deliver do have the faster processors and RAM so I am just using common sense.
Yes I think my phone was a faulty one but I still a lot of the faults will be common in even the 'non faulty' ones when really tested by an owner. As you do not own one you wouldn't know, as it first crashed on me after about 20 minutes on the internet.
I am just preparing people (like you) who are excited to be getting this phone, not to be expecting too much or you will feel gutted as I was.
Look around and see there are better phones than this, trust me I am doing you a favour but then again I wouldn't have listened to anyone telling that before I got one myself either.

Clearly, your quota wasn't that of the majority. Though i haven't gotten mine yet, i've handled and i mean really tested 4 n8s till date. Opera mobile on gsmarena and full facebook, ovi maps in background and some other less relevant apps running, no slowing down. I couldn't manage to freeze any of them. Lags are a part of all devices with a true os. Android,symbian even non smart phones like the iphone lag. Arguing otherwise is plain stupidity and self deception. The only places where a lags were evident in the devices i tried were on opening the apps folder and in the ridiculous web browser.
Don't start with the processor argument cuz its irritating and stupid. What gives you the impression that a faster processor or more ram would solve your units problems? Do you know more than the professionals at nokia? Did your device give you out of memory errors before it froze? My 64bit win 7 running hp with its much praised 2.4ghz core i5 processor and 4gb ram lags on ghost recon. A 3 year old game. That too with processor running at just 39% and 1.2gb of ram free. Your device has issues, no doubt but if you feel you know how to solve them, i recommend you design your own smartphone.

Only defending due to nokia loyalty and the hope for updates.
The truth is that the processor and RAM were not sufficient, do you agree? come on be honest?! or at least admit it would be nice to have these things upgraded?

But now I have my eyes have been opened.
No the N8 is not on par with other top end phones it just has some unique features. The basic smart phone features such as speed, internet, widgets, or just the reliability to just work! it is behind.
I remember telling you that my gf's phone did the 'pop ups' on this page and her phone is old. The N8 has flash but couldn't open many sites i tried.
As you can see I am venting! thats because I had a lot of faith in this phone and feel like I've been cheated

Wheez, 28 Oct 2010Which phone did you end up getting btw?No phone as of yet as I am still waiting on Vodafone to reset my commitment as Nokia have now confirmed to them that I have returned it.
I am planning on getting a HTC Desire as that is already tried and tested and reviewed well by all good sites. I will never get a brand new to the market phone again
