I also now use n8 as bedside clock,if you choose clock as screen saver it stays on all the time.So i get a 1 inch digital clock in white by my bed all the time and just below the day and date..If you go to clock settings and choose analogue clock thats wat you get on front screen instead of digital..
To be honest this smartfone is getting better all the time now and still nowhere near finished exploring it or downloaded any apps yet or tested fully the camera and video.I will say it and maybe not for the last time but that switch on the side to activate/deactivate screen is genius.Just done a few fone calls to activate stuff and tonal quality is superb and breathing light is their on menu/home button which i loved on the n-series.
My package come with in ear earbuds which i will try out and report on plus hdmi adapters.The menu/help guide is built in which is new to me or not seen it before so you pick your help section and it brings up a sort of onscreen FAQ and you choose what you want and its all explained..It is really different to series 60 third edtion in its thinking but still as 5th edition overall.Thats it for now..
Oh i got mine 329.99GBP at tesco and if you buy it before 31st october you get free 20GBP top up making the n8 309GBP and its got some triple your money option which ive activated but dont understand,,in comparison my nokia 6630 in 2004 cost 399.99GBP ..

for all those who r facing problem of poor colors and resolution with n8 camera...
1.remove d protectivescreen
2.if u hv not used camera for some time than it goes into power saving mode,so press d camera key for some time before taking pics

scratch? i dont think so... feels so sturdy...the photos are unbelievable.. my only complaint is the browser :(

1. build quality, call quality and battery... super!
2. menus, icons look outdated
3. slower than android( i had a xperia mini)
4. browser, needs an update .fast!
5. the feeling to have it in your hands, undescribable
i am happy with my purchase, recomended to everyone...feel free to ask any questions..

Bryn you say you ... moreJust saw your comment amonst the junk opinions.The touchscreen is fine its me who is not liking pure touchscreen and at least prefer a hardware qwerty and send/end keys,however i am getting on pretty well with N8 last touchscreen was vivaz pro/n97 ..
The loudspeaker is doing well with podcasts and music in my 12x 8ft room but not as loud as 5800.The vivaz pro speaker was awful in loudness and tonal quality also complaint on n8 about muffled sound if you put it down on a bed are true.I have an s/e stand that i got with the ill-fated useless waste of money p990i by my bed and it sits in that.Theirs plenty of volume in it tho.
The audio thru my senheiser cx300 is good with good stereo seperation but only 5 equalisers ie jazz,pop,rock,bass boost etc but no option as yet to make your own for some reason,you get loudness+stereo widening.
I am still testing stuff but live twitter on front screen(30 min update selected) is impressing me since n97 could not cope with live widgets ie ram and low c-disk space.You get 3 homescreen and put whatever you want on them i have bookmark straight to gsmarena.
Battery is really strong and to end this little opinion if i can use this touchscreen fone after years of hating them then anyone should be able too and the little key switch to lock fone is a gem.Why did i get an n8 when i HATE touch,well i had to give in somewhere to get hidef video record and symbian/nokia it had to be plus price and symbian^ 4 updates now as reported in press.
The n8 has lots of updates to come now and there is no need to wait for symbian^4 devices plus usb on go i have to try and lots more messing about AND finally the much anticipated angry birds is in ovi store 3GBP which ive got to see what all the fuss is about.brynn

Oshiru, 27 Oct 2010Man im sick of playing java vers can't wait for hd version in 3d. hopefully better than hero ... moregangstar miami: vindication is about 2 release in java 2d version...can't say bout s^3 hd versn....we ve 2 wait n see...but good news is....polarbit is workin hard 4 a FPS 3d game n also, a guy cal sumeli is creating a PSX emulator for s^3 n maemo platform...... Just wait

I showed my N8 to another iphone user at work today. The person was all but drooling over the phone! They commented on how fast it was. I'm not joking... I've had my N8 for a few weeks now in the US.

had it 2 days and still setting up but impressed by battery which was my big concern.My waves txt input is not helped by no cursor keys ,n8 does!! when using capacitive screen its hard to pinpoint the cursor n8 has right/left keys. I have black n8 made in Finland.
