@Dani, I've aleady waited long enough!!! while their are already better phones available now
Nokia lovers (and I include myself in this sweeping statement) remind me of people hanging on cd's -yes cd's work fine but mp3 is so much easier, newer and BETTER
Wake up people!! This phone is just good hardware and such a waste of it.
To prove I'm not lying look at my video's of my N8 experience.
Yes I am 'crying' as I was so excited for this phone for months -spending every night reading and posting on this forum to be let down so coldly with this seemingly unfinished phone.
Ever have that feeling, especially at the airport, that you're playing with your cellphone (as most of us do) but in the back of your mind you worry that it might run out of power and so you'll miss an important phone call? Well, not for the N8! Play away, listen to music, watch video and you still have juice left for that important phone call. No worries. Because I hate fighting for that plug at the airport against laptop/Android/iPhone users with big screens. The N8 can do what theirs can do, and much more. And I don't have to worry about power. Boy, I feel so empowered. And BTW, netbooks are more practical nowadays than 17" laptops, if anyone have noticed lately. More power to you N8 owners! :-) ... Just saying...

Battery is good on n8 but i really think you need to come from a symbian background to be fair..ive used symb ian since psion days and its taken me a few days to get shortcuts on homescreen and other oddly placed settings as usual.Very solid build i wish dolby surround extended to music player in some surround effect way and where are own equalisers you create yourself i cannot find the option?I need a good few days to get it set up to my liking.I mean you can make a fone call and text straight away its all the logging in to twitter which takes you to some ovi place.Oh peeps in uk it has bbc i-player and xfactor stuff.
Anonymous, 25 Oct 2010symbian^ 4 has been dropped. the symbian foundation is closing down very soon.. :(As Nokia has just announced, Qt is going to be the umbrella OS. There will be no more distinction among Symbian^3, Symbian^4, MeeGo, etc. Just Qt. This does not mean Symbian is dead, or MeeGo. It just means all Symbian/Meego is consolidated to Qt. And developers will find it easier to port apps. Streaming media is going to be HTML5. Adobe Flash and MS Silverlight will have competition in this. Rejoice Nokia owners!
G, 25 Oct 2010I am seeing this forum from few days to decide whether to go for n8. But here no one is intere... moreI couldn't agree more, G. I have an N8. I had Blackberry Curve before. I had iPhon. I had the Samsung Omnia i8910HD, which I replaced with my new N8. And I am the happiest cell phone owner at the moment. I rest my case.
I am seeing this forum from few days to decide whether to go for n8. But here no one is interested in reviewing their n8 phones. All are fighting here to prove their phone companies are better. I think most of the people here have not owned n8 phones, simply there are here to fight for their dear companies. Come on guys please make way for healthy discussion on this nokia's ultimate phone.

So, why do you keep reposting your bashing comments? You are just lowering yourself insisting on posting on this site. Go to other sites where you can insult other people's intelligence. We respect your views but since there's a million Nokia N8 users now, half a million of them cannot be wrong. Go cry somewhere...

Before I got it I was a 100% Nokia fan so excited to get the their new flagship phone. Now I've got (had) it I can't agree with you more! What a waste of good hardware! Excellent camera, FM transmitter, Fantastic build quality and good battery but that all means nothing when your phone crashes and runs slow. This was such a let down for me and I'm embarrassed to be so narrow minded to have been so loyal to Nokia. I have been missing out on 'modern' phones and UI's.
I have sent my N8 back (just waiting for nokia to confirm receipt of it) and I can't wait to get a HTC desire -which is alot older than the N8 but way ahead in performance.
I know people will disagree with me but they are probably die hard nokia fans who only know the world of nokia like I used to. I used to be exactly the same and was even defending this phone on this same forum (check the history!)
My N8 froze up on me everyday and many other owners have the same problem, some web pages took forever to load or just didn't load, it missed emails when syncing with gmail!! and above all the UI looks so dull.
I am not bashing or trolling I am simply being honest. Those people not sure whether to get this phone just youtube it Nokia vs (any other top end phone) and see for yourself.
I blame wheez for me getting this phone! He made it sound amazing but now he's gone quiet after getting his -I wonder why....
is there a app or a way that you can record a video at night using the xenon flash if not some one should make a app for that the n8 is the best phone ever made in history

It's a shame nokia decided to waste such wonderful hardware on such a cr@ppy OS! The lags... the lack of intuitive response, the lame "one sized" widgets, the "only" 3 home panes, etc!! No wonder SE and Samsung decided to drop symbian! It's simply stinking garbage next to other OS!

ngage, 25 Oct 2010when n-gage will be out for n8i dont think so..i think its closed
On November 2, 2009 it was announced that the N-gage service would continue through 2010 before being shut down for good. This means Nokia will stop shipping Nokia phones with the N-gage application installed. Nokia has been announcing its OVI store as a replacement service, which will be more comparable and competitive to Apple's iTunes Store and Microsoft's Zune Marketplace, an online store that will not only sell games but applications, media content, etc.
