had it 2 days and still setting up but impressed by battery which was my big concern.My waves txt input is not helped by no cursor keys ,n8 does!! when using capacitive screen its hard to pinpoint the cursor n8 has right/left keys. I have black n8 made in Finland.

However i'm... morePutting an N8 (which is a higher middle-class phone) with other high end phones (Iphone4, Galaxy S) is like putting up a good teen footballer (n8) against a pro footballer playing in the EPL league (Galaxy S, Iphone4), its pretty obvious who is gonna win. It is more sensible to put up the n8 againts samsung wave, SE X10, Iphone 3gs and Motorola milestone. I wonder why there are no videos about the comparison between N8 and all the phones i mentioned (except iphone4 and galaxy s)

Some are free some aren't,if you can't find at ovi you could try to google it. Good luck!

If i connect an N8 to hidef tv using mini HDMI can it play any video on the device.I know it will be of poorer quality but some are vga,and wide vga and wondered if this would work but obviouslt with reduced on screen quality on tv.Thanx,i can get one now ie in next 6hrs @tesco uk

Symbian^3 UI-35%
Design- 100% perfect
browser- 25% very slow
GPS- 100% perfect free
USB OTG- 100% perfect
DIVX,MP4,AVI-100% work fast no hang
photo viewer,inbox opening- 50% is very slow while loading.
display resolution- 35% not perfect amoled i think it because gorilliaz glass display thats why not totally brighter screen.
battery-100% perfect 2days heavy usage.
applicatio- 15% no appliction yet availble s3. there’s is no 3d games available for s3.
anyway overall my n8 is 50% good, no perfect phone, im using nokia since year 2000 up to now year 2010. cheers. nokia is the best trusted brand worldwide. i dont care about failure of units. i am solid fan of nokia someday or years nokia produce a perfect phone no one can beat. hehe

I read a LOT of your post. And in every one you talk really bad about the N8. I know, i dont have one, but i know u r a fan about youtube videos about N8 comparison. Ok tell me what u think about this videos:

Like i said before, you can't see any real difference about performance in gaming.. I realy think this is what was talking about Engineer Man. Without 1ghz of CPU the N8 move a 3D game with out any lag. Dont You? or you can see any real difference about performance.. please tell me if so.

Yes, the browser is slow.. But.. Freeze?? i still using my n95 for browsing.. and never happen to me.. Please, tell me the URL, because i use my N95 for visit this page, Youtube (full screen video viewing), facebook, Badoo :P, some digital news papers. And ill never have a problem. Ok, is not the N8.. is N95. Lower CPU Lower RAM, oldest OS.. and so on.. Please.. send me the URL you visit.. for testing in my N95.
Another thing.. OTHERs USERs are really happy about de Image Gallery, claiming it is really fast browsing more than 2.000 HD pictures.. But.. you have problems? How many picture are trying to browse? 1 millon?
If the overall performance of this device is SOOOO Bad.. please, explain me how its possible this list of FACTS.
- GAMING 3D HD: Similar to IPH4
- Video: Can reproduce HD video in almost ALL formats availables. (RMVB and MKV reported some lag isues in some cases, not all in HD)
- Video PostProcesing: 10 seconds to process 30 mins videos.
So, if you want to evaluate the power of CPU and GPU of this device, from how pretty is the UI or from the Browser.. its your call and your need.. Not mine.
I want a MULTIMEDIA phone, for take pictures and videos of mi family. Use it as video player when i travel, play games. And yes.. a little of webbrowsing too. Please, tell me.. wich phone can do all of those things better than the N8. And i promisse, i gonna buy it !
I want:
- Xenon Flash. For Birthday picture (for example)
- Decent poor light pictures and video recording. (Some times you cannot use flash or lights)
- HD Video output for almost all formats.
- HDMI Output for view movies in mi LCD.
- Dolby Sound for my Home Theater.
- HD Video recording (if a can get decent zooming it was EXCELENT!)
- Play Stunning 3d Games, and view it at large LCD.
- Share with my folks my Mp3 and files via Bluethoot
- Listen Standard Radio Station.
- GPS. With Garmin Support (in my country only have actualized maps for this one.. sad, but true) Or if i cant put GARMIN, i must have something to replace it.. tell me wich one. (S. Wave dont have any one, cos Garmin dont support BADA. It has GPS but it usefull in my country.)
I dont care about Brand ,OS, PRICE, Form Factor, Display Technology, construction quality, CPU, GPU, ETC. I want all of this functions. Every one working well.
I will waiting your suggestions.

I am a victime of poo... moreI suggest you look at youtube videos of the N8 vs any other smart phone and you will see that there are better options. Please don't take my word for it but actually check youtube. Don't be another Nokia victim.
Also don't get me wrong -its a great 'phone' with good battery if you are just looking for basics and a good camera (although a LED video light would have made it better as I took a video in the night which was just a black screen when played back).
It has a few nice features like FM transmitter and USB OTG, but without those perks this phone would have nothing on the competition.
