Yeah , I have to agree with you that when the Radio is on the speaker on these cheap phones, I guess it's mostly mixed with metallic noise. So better on the Headset, than on the Speaker!

I've read that you can use the one fro C7 but not 100% compatible. I have to admit, the keypad is a little cramped. They should improve on this.

If you go out and try the GPS/Navigation system (with voice guidance and street names pronounced) together with the AMAZING battery performance then you'll get this phone in a jiffy. And oh, they're free updates on these maps/voices from the OVI Store - just create and account there, for free. Just try... and you'll throw those stupid candy phones away, I can assure you that. And oh, the voices are VERY legible because of the super clear speakers. Thanks.

Can any one please tell me the audio & sound quality of N8 through headphone? Is it comparable with nokia x series or music express set in terms of sound quality through headphone or headset? Thanks in advance.

I guess they didn't put it in because the reception is quite poor without the antenna (on that cheap phone), and users world expect great quality digital radio in this category and thus giving a feature that doesn't work that well would be harmful...

It's a cell phone, not a radio phone. And besides, almost ALL cell phones use the supplied headset to use as the antenna if you want to listen to radio. I believe you are pointing out very minor issues just the bash the phone. You iphone/samsung/sony user? Very regretful you did not get the N8?

I will have to say It is again a disappointment that N8 cannot run the FM Radio without the headphones on it's speakers. Even a cheap phone does that nowadays, I really do not understand about these Nokia strategies!! They give one feature, but not fully!
They give a new feature , but pull back the already available features!

Wow, I've read the last 20 posts and it's amazing how this site turned into bashing instead of discussing the N8. And most of these outsiders (the ones jealous and bashing the N8) keep coming back and reposting their comments. It is soooo obvious, you outsiders, that you are just spamming a very wholesome discussion here. Will you guys please move out and go fly kites? You are just glorifying the N8 by reposting negative comments on this phone. Fact, the more you bash it, the more interested people become and you are driving Nokia's stock into the sky, did you realize that you morons??? The N8 is undoubtedly THE best cell phone at the moment, period. But hey, it's technology so things change. Wait for your own phones to recover and please don't be jealous because you couldn't wait for the N8 to come out before and so you ended up buying some candy phones and here you are bashing it. Now, if you'll excuse us because we're busy discussing the N8. By the way, people in here are more of the mature and intelligent types, not like you outsiders who are bitter. Tsk, tsk, tsk...

What we are talking free over here is voice guided navigation on the nokia ovi maps for lifetime...

You might have a souped up engine but if the brain behind the engine is like yours, I don't think it will be optimal.

Future N8 Owner, 22 Oct 2010Does Nokia N8 play FM radio without the headphones, on the speaker? or is it like the usual Ra... moreHi Future N8 Owner, you have to have the supplied headset to LISTEN to FM radios but you do not need it to TRANSMIT through your radio at the same frequecy so you can listen to your cell phone through your FM radio (makes me wonder if I could listen to my car radio as a speaker phone during calls, hmmm...). The GPS is lifetime FREE for the N8 or from OVI Store because updates are downloaded from the OVI Store anyway. So go ahead and get this phone because it's breaking records and you better get your own now before it's too late. Not kidding...

Does Nokia N8 play FM radio without the headphones, on the speaker? or is it like the usual Radio on the headphones only and it does not work when the headphones are removed?
Also is GPS free for life like the Ovi Maps in N8? or is the GPS network dependent and it is charged by the network?
Please N8 Owners, answer the above queries. Thanx in advance for all the answers.
