I dont know pelple keep saying stupid things about the n8.....if you dont know how to use it stop saying it is a bad phone....im pretty sure that somebody that knows a a bit about phones would deal with it perfectly
having played on this a few days before uk release. i have come to a conclusion.its not that good. very bulky and heavy.
very juddery on the zoom on the camera. also 12 megapixel well is not all that. speed wise its not very fast. shame it does not have a 1 ghz cpu. like all the other smart phones. for a smart phone its not that smart.
shame nokia i had high hopes. but sadly its just average. only the nokia fans will appreciate it. the new symbian os just looks like my old Omnia HD, so i dont see any difference.
shame all the hype but doesnt deliver. but i do like the colour options and shape.
Love N8 but, 21 Oct 2010Hi, What do you think are the drawbacks of Sony Ericcson Vivez? It looks great, even gsmarena... moreSorry about the late reply. Dont get me wrong. The Vivaz is a great phone. The comparison between the 2 phones reveal differences. For example, the Vivaz runs an older os than the N8. The symbian ^3 is really good especially with future backups bound for all versions of this os. For this reason, your os will always be up to date. Now when it comes to the Vivaz, SE has backed out of symbian so they may just abandon any future updates to this phone. That would be a major concern for me. SE are also slow in rolling out updates to their os's. Take a look at the X10's. They getting updates now and to an old os version too! Their firmware was handled ok though but those were to fix problems and just minor new additions to the os. With the N8, the backing you'd get would be superb in comparison. Couple that to a larger screen, gorrila glass, anodised body, usb otg, 12mp camera vs 8mp, Hd gaming, flash lite 4.0, 16 gb on board memory and other minor tweeks provided with the new os, N8 symbian^3 would be the better choice.
Know what, i just came up with a brilliant idea how to make my geeky-tech needs fulfilled!
1) Get N8 for daily use as a phone, camera, music player, GPS navi, etc. (will install SPB mobile shell)
2) Get an Android Tablet for web browsing and reading books.
Just perfect, since i do find Android to be...thoughout intuitive UI, but battery life, jiish, no comments. Then again it is more acceptable for the tablet to die on you in a day!
BTW! I currently own E71 and am pretty happy with it, at least have been for past 2 years but now is the time for upgrade.
hey, all u techy guys how is it that most samsung phones giving class 10 edge and nokia gives class 32 edge even in the cheaper phones of nokia. does it really affects the speed. pls. help.
If we connect hdmi to tv inbuilt speaker in tv will work, how can we connect to tv with cable in the nokia n8 box.
[deleted post]Lot of updates ???? hmmm... Phone must be really shity then.. Needing a hell lot of updates.

Dr. Bidhan, 28 Jul 2010Hi symbios wc to N8 forum...realy happy to see u here..im also planning to buy d N8 n waiting... moreOfcourse i want the Nokia N8!! :) My N86 flex cable just got damaged and the screen lights in many different colours but is still usable and my i8910 HD has served me well but the n8 is the ultimate upgrade for me! It has smoother, more crisp and detailed HD recording, the 12mp camera is a good upgrade from my 8mp devices, the xenon flash makes it possible for low light photos, and now nokia are taking the road of upgrading the current OS instead of making new releases.......if i wasnt certain i was getting an n8 before.....that statement just certified it!!!

It can survive a 10m fall. At worst you have to change the case which costs less than 3usd or about 2euros.
using this fone for 4 days Assam battery back up 3 days in general use never frizzes or hang like Nokia n97 good head phone sound quality camera is batter than my canon 8 mp camera good video quality smooth touch smooth scrolling a little slow on net speed but works good wih opera mini
i also have samsung galaxy s but i use it as a portable video player but not as a phone its quality and performance is good but this phone is not useable as its battery life is only 6 hour and camera is hassy and no flash
overall my personal openion is that it is batter than Samsung galaxy s for daily use
and by the way i don't really know how it support all my n 97 apps because it have a different OS but this apps not only runs but works good on it as well as themes so i don't really have a app problem as a lot of s60v3 apps are available in market.overall it is the best phone considering all espects.
0v0, 21 Oct 2010Here you Go: Great news for N8 owners specifically ( Symbian^3 ). Please read below: (...... moreYesss, so happy to hear about this new development from Nokia. Qt and HTML5 will be the way to go. Rejoice N8 owners, we will be supported for a long, long time.

More physical moving parts, more danger of breaking something. It's your choice...
Did I say I LOVE THE GPS PERFORMANCE on this thing? Yes, I did. Sorry, just so in love with it.
