SUDHAKAR and irshad screen black problem is a very common problem....
my solution is Just remove The screen protector from your N8's screen... may Be It cover The proximity sensor....
if you remove The screen protector The problem will Be solved.....

Mr.Dorian sorry but u and ur girlfriend are a generation behind in updating the firmware. From the video it is clear that she runs on symbian^3 now the latest update is nokia belle refresh which is very very fluid... N8 is a great device no other mobile can match in terms of imaging quality and also the build quality(aluminium body) plz plz tell ur girlfriend to update it using either nokia suite(if she knows what is that) or else take her and the mobile to nokia care center.... have a nice day....

I've just watched that video and it did make me laugh. Thanks for that! To be honest though, my N8 never behaved like the one in the video so that one must have been a bad device.

If she's not capable of updating her firmware who knows what else she messed up. Anyway I have a relative who repairs phones and believe me, this can happen to any phone of any brand. Cheers. :-)

i dont know about you or your video, but my nokia n8 works well, i am quite satisfied with HDMI port, usb on the go, fast respond USB port, nice headset, nice baterry life time.
i have no idea why your phone getting hang but i think maybe either your memory too full, a virus, you not update your software or maybe because you using it too rough.
whatever it is, you better going to nokia care center, instead of making video about how fool you are handle your own phone.

Also, install apps that aren't critical to the E drive. There are apps such as MobileCleaner which can really help with removing useless files created by various apps. If you really know what you're doing you can also try RSCcleaner... I have more than 100 MB free even with more than 100 apps.

Anyone knows how do I increase my C: memory? It only has 20MB left and I feel it will soon crash for lack of enough memory. Every time I use the browser, the c: memory decreases more. What folders do I delete in C: to have more memory, even at least 60MB?

Symbian is so complete: NFC, VPN Client, FM Transmitter, FM Radio, Undisputable King of Multi Tasking, Bluetooth File/Data Transfer, PTT, Resource & Battery efficient, Greatest Camera Support, Supports almost all kinds of Audio/Video formats, External Card Slot, Multiple Home Screens, Widgets, Short Cuts, Themes, inbuilt downloader, HDMI TV Output, USB On the GO, & the list continue... Symbian has got almost everything.
It's true that Symbian doesn't require so much power, but still Nokia has failed to give Symbian an adequate power support (like CPU, GPU, & RAM). What is amazing is that Symbian with such a low specs hardware is still operating comes close to high ends phones running on high raw power of 1,5-1,7 GB chips, 1-2GB RAM, and 2100-3000 mAh battery. So the conclussion is: Symbian Belle must not be bad at all. Had N8 get the same specs as GS2,3,& 4, then I really don't know what to say but WOW...!
Belle is a mature OS because Symbian is the Father of all OSes. If Carla & Donna are properly developed and revive, and attention was paid for Symbian developer in Nokia Store, together with WP Nokia will compete easily in the market.
