Good bye Symbian, you are left behind. Wish to buy Android or Iphone. But Iphone is too expensive. Yep android is my choice.Phone OS for future.
Galaxy Sun, 13 Oct 2010It's another ball game with n9...When it's out it will have to compete with Android 3.0 phones... moreI think galaxy is a gud phone but cant compete wid n8.i know there are several advantages n disadvantages over one another but now its a time for some change from java to s60 to android to symbian^3.but in popular growing mobile industry in countries like china and india there is a blind faith in nokia before purchasing any phones our parents say "only nokia and nothing else".i know nokia is new in smartphone market but it will soon make his reputation like it made with n series and e series.we never remember any phone model no. Except nokia so dats the reason why nokia is mobile leader and other mobile companies are trying to reach to that position and even nokia wid smart phones.so lets see
nokia moto: connecting people..
apple : entertaining people
google: follow Moore's law.... (poor battery manufacturers ha ha ha)
Galaxy Sun, 13 Oct 2010It's another ball game with n9...When it's out it will have to compete with Android 3.0 phones... moreThat's funny. I've seen all the N8 promo videos, they all revolve around the camera, USB OTG, HDMI port and Bluetooth keyboard and mouse compatibility. I haven't seen them bragging about the appstore, neither did they say it's the fastest phone on the planet. I guess some people do expect a lot from these phones.

I am sure you still didnt go through the N8 specs.
Probably i dont think anything special in Galaxy other than its SAMOLED ( i really doubt is it better than Retina
or how it is betetr than AMOLED ).
Please dont brag about 1GHz processor which is discussed here N number of times.
Only thing in Galaxys favour is its Poor mans iPhone clone.
The best thing of n8 is not camera, it is the price that kill its peers.
The disavanages gsmarena list are not the real disavantages, all of them are just softwares that very likely to be fixed by firmware update including new ovimaps with pinch to zoom, ovi browser, swype and nokia interne radio,
video recording is overrated, itake still photo most of the time, battrey life is not bad,

The Gsmarena team expected something truly amazing as the world given the so much advertisment by Nokia and the fact that the launch was postponed a couple of times..And they got only the best camera in the business...I say only because given all the excitement around n8 it was expected that this handset will compete in all aspects with Android high-end phones...But,it can't....

Once its in, I'll hav a look and then decide. As from the reviews the N8 seems gud but camera is the least thing I use in a phone,so I am really confused. About that HDMI thing,I don't hav a HD tv. I love the polished OS of SGS. I have used N70,N79,N82,5230,5800,so I think I need a change now. The UI of N8 looks preety similar to its predesessors.
THANKS guys for your wonderful comments. Please can somebody describe how loud the N8 sterio speakers are when playing music. Is it as loud as 5800 and N95-1?

Something that trumps the competition in every possible way. Nokia did so on some parts, other parts were lacking. GSMArena stated that too in the conclusion - if you find N8 lacking in one side, it is the absolute best in another side. I guess they mostly found Symbian 3 lacking other than the handset itself. I too would have loved a more polished O.S., but given that feature set and such a price I'll be forgiving it's shortcomings. The same doesn't apply for you top-of-the-line android phones. They cost a lot, and can't even store apps in the memory case (yet). HTC is much better than Samsung in this regard. At least they gave the Desire Froyo treatment. And be realistic, it costs lot less than Galaxy. At least in Bangladesh, Galaxy costs around 480 euro, whereas N8 should be available at 400 euro most. Compare your Galaxy with the N9 when that's out...
Bro, Hope you are not clear with NOkia N8 device.. Its not just camera, it has USB, HD recording, and many freaking crazy features as compared to Galaxy S.
Galaxy has Android & Super amoled display, but 5MP camera sucks.. No flash, sucks more...
USB on The GO is a feature where you can attach pen drive, USB hard disk in the mobile.
Now thats done with Female USB stick which is already present in BOX. Now when you connect any pen drive or USB hard disk it will recognize it as MASS STORAGE DEVICE ATTACHED. from where you can copy paste cut move do any thing.
Now when you attach any nokia device with this usb it will also detect uSB device attached. And if you attach any non nokia device it starts charging the other phone...
Hope its cleared now..

[deleted post]Nope. If it were available, you would have known it already (tv commercials, paper ads, you know...). I called the priority dealer in Dhanmondi, they said it'll arrive within this month, but couldn't give an exact date. You should better keep checking the newspapers for ads and related news.

Is this finally resolved on the N8?

The processor, display,Ram are integrant parts of a handset..We make our choices in buying a handset according to those aspects! Having the best camera on the market is not enought to regain the smartphone segment while you haven't improved too much other segments! Read the review! Gsmarena admits that n8 is the best cameraphone but overall it can't compete with Galaxy S! For many people the camera will be enough to buy this phone but i repeat..overall it can't compete with the Android high-end phones!
Dear n8 users can u explain me what is usb on the go support??????????Only n8 experienced user plz
Galaxy Sun, 13 Oct 2010I'd give up the looks for having the best features anyday! The battery life is not great that'... moreWell, can you please explain what are the 'really' usable features of you precious Galaxy? Don't mention RAM, processor or screen tech, those are not features that add to the functionality. Re web browsing, I still prefer to browse on my 21 inch pc monitor using firefox. And design is a really important factor when you're buying something that costs around 500 euro. And you Galaxy owners should feel sad and cheated. Even after having the most powerful GPU in the market, you don't have a good, playable, graphics intensive games. And the heck, the 2.2 Froyo update isn't here yet. When it'll be finally available, there will be some bugs for sure and Samsung will never be kind enough to fix those as they'll be concentrating on the next big thing. It's amazing how nokia still supports the N95 (got a firmware upgrade 2 months ago). Anyways, hope you Galaxy owners don't end up like those Omnia HD owners...
