hani, 09 Oct 2010a question to wheez .
the tv out option is like the 5800 +hdmi or just via the hdmi?I'm not too familiar with the 5800, so I'm not sure, but:
The N8 supports AV-out from the 3,5mm jack it has plus the HDMI.
Hope that helps something.

Anonymous, 09 Oct 2010iphone downloads in the background too at least on my iph4by the way its n8 page..i come here to see whether i can decide to buy a n8 or not..but all i see is bashing abt n8 from iphone n android fans..its not necessary..when someone dont wish to buy n8 no need to bash it..dont comment as well
Anonymous, 09 Oct 2010I was really gonna buy the phone until I saw the blog about N8 being dissected. IT HAS FIXED B... moreWhy would you need to change the battery?
The phone has a built in power cut off like in laptops and computers. Holding the power button 8s will cut of all power, equal to taking battery out.
If you need the battery replaced, Nokia Care will do that while you have warranty. After warranty you can get the battery out by opening two screws, but I'm not sure if that would void the warranty if you still havnt ran out of the 2 years by then.
I've personally never met anyone who would carry a spare battery with them, but I guess some people who travel alot might, but meh.
For people wondering whether to buy this not or insecure whether this will be a fail like N97, here are some real user thoughts. It's finnish (Finland has had this since last day of september) so you probably can't undertand it, but you can see the rated stars. 5 stars is naturally the max there.
And "Suosittelen" means "I recommend"
In case people want to see some other kind of "rankings" of this phone but comparing CPU frequencies.
I was really gonna buy the phone until I saw the blog about N8 being dissected. IT HAS FIXED BATTERY, That has really put me off & noway I am gonna buy this phone. I love my 5800, it does every thing I need & can change the battery without hassle.

0v0, 09 Oct 2010For those who already got the N8, Congrats.
and for those who r waiting, just wait and will b... moreOverall the Symbian^3 is very good out of the box. No major flaws or bugs, the browser is pretty much the weakest link, so either deal with it or use opera mobile. A new browser written in Qt is coming later this year.
Overall it's smooth and fast, not much waiting to be done.
I'm very happy with my purchase and wouldn't trade if for any other smartphone out there, even if you gave me 3 of em (unless I was allowed to sell em and buy 3 more N8s :D)
Wheez, 09 Oct 2010Yeah, I'm aware, but the loading time comparison was pretty fair and it's not surprising.
I... moreI have noticed Afans and Afans come here to use every chance to bash N8 for selling IOS and Android to people of which most actually are only interested in N8.
If I have time, I will come here now and then. Do not allow crap talks to control this N8 forum.
Anonymous, 09 Oct 2010No matter Ngage was a failure, it showed the strong evidence that Nokia is the absolute daddy,... morei totally agree nokia is father of modern phone. Ipod wasn't first mp3 player too. Whenever apple starts new product line, everyone produces apple killer. No one including sony successfully killed ipod, now it is smartphone turn
[deleted post]No matter Ngage was a failure, it showed the strong evidence that Nokia is the absolute daddy, in terms of gaming for smart phone, say nothing of telecommunication wise technology!
For those who already got the N8, Congrats.
and for those who r waiting, just wait and will be in hands soooon..;).
Those who own N8, can they inform us about the smoothness of Symbian^3? The bugs-r they happen to be in ^3 ? the battery?
Anonymous, 09 Oct 2010Wheez, the comparison of Iphone4 and N8 was not fair.
1. N8 was not release firmware.
2.... moreYeah, I'm aware, but the loading time comparison was pretty fair and it's not surprising.
I'm just waiting that India and other big markets get this phone, when there's enough people who actually have the phone, I don't have to come here anymore.
While I'd love to discuss and help people, it's really wearing me down to battle these Samsung/HTC/iPhone fans that just have some need to spend their whole day bashing another phone. It feels more like a job to come here and have to fight em cos they derail the whole discussion.
It's really sad, but sadly it's the nature of GSMArena and the downside of anonymity
