That is a significantly faster CPU than the one in the N8. If we want to go into this deeper, we have to do it right. Fact of the matter is, Symbian is better in constrained environment, battery wise, memory wise, cycle wise. Lets not discuss where this difference becomes apparent, that is subjective, but the difference is there.
Now of course Moore's law is going to be nice for Android in that respect, but from a cost perspective Symbian still wins. And battery life is one thing Moore's law does not apply to :)
[deleted post]The point here was about OS, we can even use the Hero as an example as it has 256mb RAM, and a 528mhz CPU and can do Froyo, and as i said the Milestone which also at under 600mhz and 256mb RAM runs Android fine. S60v3s did 200mhz but we're off that so i dont know why you brought it up.
If you're going to result to personal insults then i suggest we end this here as i'd rather not lower myself to your level. Thanks. Atleast Wheez is mature enough to reply respectfuly and had great points to add to the discussion.
[deleted post]Let me rephrase that.
S^3 is better. Now matter how great your transitions looks, they dont mean dick all when your battery is dead.
The 360° view of the N8 is up, which means that the preview will probably be up very soon!
phones fan, 06 Oct 2010the USB OTG is a nice extra feature ,as i mention more speed and less lag could much better no... moreThere's nothing wrong with a camera showdown. Actually, it's there maybe to prove that n8's camera isn't going to lose on iphone 4's like some other review site claims.
At least gsmarena's move can be dismissed as a part of tech sites competition. And as a lot of mobile users will agree, i believe even die hard android fans will agree, that what's done to n8 is not fair. And so people will start believing that gsmarena is the only good source of mobile reviews, which is quite true, they got technical in some areas, and pull their verdict without any hints of bias. They always get most everybody else's approval.
What all video formats does n8 play. The demo they showed me at priority played mkv. Does it play divx or other higher formats ?
AMANITA, 06 Oct 2010No, 5130,5310 ...Both of them have TFT displays. :) Thanks.
why does nokia only give u xenon and no led light that i can still record a video in the dark other wise everything esle is good come on nokia xenon + led light does anyone agree with me
New waver, 06 Oct 2010Btw, is this the first phone by Nokia that uses Amoled screen ? No, 5130,5310 ...
phones fan, 06 Oct 2010the USB OTG is a nice extra feature ,as i mention more speed and less lag could much better no... moreGSM Arena wants to be fair, and that is what we should want as well. I dont think iOS or Android are 1 bit better than S^3 btw.
c-man, 06 Oct 2010what i would like to know is why gsmarena are defending the nokia n8 from real cristisism? its... moreI have owned several phone shops, and I do not agree with your assessment. Symbian is rock solid. I think you mean the N97 firmware was not so good.
samy, 06 Oct 2010guys, stop arguing...its just a phone... you like iphone? get one... you like N8? so, get one.... moreso you will buy the n8 after you read a "positive" review posted in a nokia forum...smart decision you deserve the n8 phone.
phones fan, 06 Oct 2010the USB OTG is a nice extra feature ,as i mention more speed and less lag could much better no... moreYou can connect your N8 to a HDD of 200 Gb, no issues, but it wont work with individual files over 4 Gb.
On the performance, I think it is quick, check this out:
Dont let the newsoutlets fool you, see for your self.
guys, stop arguing...its just a phone... you like iphone? get one... you like N8? so, get one..its personal choice and i think many posted opinions are just childish..me? i will get an N8, after reading this...
what i would like to know is why gsmarena are defending the nokia n8 from real cristisism? its a shakey operating system to say the least, i work in a phone shop and symbian causes the vast majoriety of our complaints. what nokia need to do in my opinion is get on the andriod bandwagon and ditch this datedm, slow, and unconvincing o.s
