TP, 06 Oct 2010It should be able to, after all the Moto Milestone with its 550mhz CPU and 256mb RAM does Froyo.Right, I mightve been wrong about the min requirements for android, just thought cos ive seen the galaxy s struggle abit in running the OS at times, so I figured it definitely wouldnt be better in N8 cos android still cant use the gpu to draw ui.
Also whats with wanting Android everywhere? I dont want it to the N8 myself, I prefer the strengths of Symbian^3 myself. If we put Android to evert phone we lose the diversity and freedom of choise. Luckily Nokia will never go for Android so the discussion is useless, too.

hayato, 06 Oct 2010Wow, but i heard sony is slow in giving updates.Like all others in terms of OS updates (HTC being the exception) ,otherwise SE have given multiple FW updates to improve things and add things here and there.

[deleted post]wow, so many things apple can't do, i never knew some of this things till you pointed out, since i'm not that interested in iphone4 as a smartphone(i'm interested in androids, badas and symbians) But just as a phone. Eg. the minimalist design really caught my eye at first sight. But other than that. No thanks.

N8 is great improvement in terms of usability, fun and being connected. That said, its primary funtion telephony is unmatched and excellent.

You have a freedom to choose what you want. You don't have to be here, if you have nothing good to say(except if you bought n8 and got disappointed), and if your intention is to harm others.
Of course you can say your opinion, but please give some people respect when doing so. Or else you'll end up being the one that's not respected. Bear in mind that we have our own preferences, and being referred as unreasonable because of those peferences is beyond mine and everyone else's tolerance.

The only thing it has is the camera. Blah blah blah. I don't see any other phones with usb compatibility. I doubt any of your androids can match the battery life. I wouldn't wan't to embarrass you so lets not talk about build quality. Whats more, its a nokia! The best customer service of them. Normally, i would mention the os but i guess your an android fanboy. Its a plus in my books.

AFAIK, none of the phones you mentioned has a dual core CPU, so what's your beef, really? If you don't like Nokia, why did you even come here to bash Nokia phones?
The N8 is also priced at the lower price than the other phones you mentioned. At the higher price of the Galaxy S, it doesn't even come an audio remote control for the earphones; it doesn't even come with a capacitive stylus.
For the lower price of the N8, you get:
- Pentaband 3G (VS triband 3G on the S)
- Anodized aluminium unibody available in 5 colours (VS plastic body on the S)
- HDMI port (none on the other phones you mentioned)
- USB OTG (not supported by other phones you mentioned)
- Video call on both 3G and WiFi
- Free voice-guided navigation for lifetime in over 70 countries that works both online and offline. Google navigation is only available in the USA and the UK, and it's only available online which means huge phone bills for the GPRS/EDGE/3G connections.
- 1/1.8" 12 MP camera sensor with Xenon flash

I wonder how much Nokia had payed for all the praise this phone gets... Other companies research dual-core cpu's, over 1ghz, better ways to integrate social networks and widgets, more apps and slimmer designs... and 1080p playback. Nokia is not what it was... some people sould get over it. Nowadays SAMSUNG Galaxy S, HTC Desire, APPLE Iphone 4 or MOTOROLA Droid are the kings of SMARTPHONES. The only advantage N8 has over these phones is the really good camera. And the disadvantages are colosal (even in video capture it seems). Please be resonable, not just fanboys... PS-excuise my english (in some cases)

Why?did we get the news that the N8 is started shipping,as i pre-orded mine an still not made available yet,i am sure Nokia airtime must have got the N8 in stock,so why aren"t they sending out the N8,then we will get proper opinions from the Public,its been a really bad phone for Nokia the N8 as you expect any company to announce a product an release it a month later,but we first saw the N8 in April but Nokia thought any software would convince anybody to buy the N8,until Eldar of mobile-review gave us a honest thought about the N8 an embarassed Nokia,an now they have had alot of work to do at Nokia to try to embarass Eldar an show him the N8 will be a phone to get Nokia back on track,April-November to get the N8 released at last,so the N8 is really going to get Critised for All the Time an Delays that the N8 as gone through

ok.thanks for your reply wheeze, wheeze when nokia released a new firmware for n8 to make faster and fixed some slow. i want this phone because it GPS is longlife drive and walk. are you try how your n8 gps work performance? because my samsung jet gps it has paid every used, 3reason i want n8 because USB,GPS LIFETIME,used mouse and keyboard. wheeze ive you try it in your n8?
