I had my N8 for 6 hours.
Even at a short time, I know how to manage it because I have watched a lot of videos of N8 published in different sites.
I love the screen. You don't have to worry for the nHD screen. It's very sharp and clear. The AMOLED display makes it brilliant. I still have my n900 with me. I noticed that N8 has a better sunlight legibility than my n900. The screen doesn't even look pixelated! no need to worry.
The camera interface was improved. I love the camera so much. The xenon flash is really helpful in dark places. I have tried video recording. Everything was clear even in zooming the fullest!
The signal never fail me! Shame on Iphone4!
The maps 3.0 is really a big improvement. It loads fast. Ovi 2.0 is great. I already have my swype for N8. Now texting on portrait qwerty. SO great. Im lovin it.
There are 3 main homescreen in the home. When you scroll it, it responds just fine. I like the cuztomizable wallpaper and widgets. I have not tried 3d wallpaper in N8, but I think it can handle 3d wallpapers and themes since it is equipped with Broadcom GPU and a 3d graphics accelerator. Can anyone help me where can I find 3d wallpaper for N8?
The speaker which is a mono speaker is really doing great. its better than the i9000's speaker. I wonder why these specs belie. Like also the 1200 mah battery. Ive been using it continuous 5 hours of
photo shooting, social networking and video recording. Not even a single battery drop down.
The web-browsing. It is better than the n97 x6 5800 web browing. But dont expect that it is as good as in n900's web browser. Multitouch is fine but slower than the multitouch in web browsing in iphone 4. But in pinch to zoom in photos, it works smoothly.
I assure you, Nokia will improve the web browser in future updates.
Nokia will add continuous autofocus in n8 is future firmware.
Do n8 has video stabilization like that in Nokia E7 because it is said in mynokiablog that it has video stabilization.
Ignore VINCENT, the KID! He's just like the people in Engadget, ELdar, and gizmodo!
Also, CNETs listed downsides for the N8:
# Software is confusing and frustrating in places
# Fewer apps available than with rival phones
# Poor social-networking integration
I think Symbian^3 is very logical and easy to use myself, fewer apps is true, but it's not like iTunes started with all those apps either, we gotta wait for N8 to launch properly and other S^3 phones as well and then see how it adds up.
Poor social-networking integration, he is really complaining that he can't have the full service on a widget size of 3 lines of text or something. Really? How about you start the application instead of using the widget if you wanna do more than a quick glance. It's like complaining that the email client is bad cos you can only see first 2 messages status on the widget.
He bashed the keyboard, I think it's really fantastic, I can already write really fast on it, absolutely loving it.
So basically he took 2 stars off cos of personal preference. Preferences and opinions are all cool, but that's supposed to be an unbiased review, he should write it more objectively.
nokia does always give u xenon flash but no video light and that is a disapointment having hd video and no video light like on n86 come on nokia i like the e 7 but no card slot bull shit now what is the deal with that and besides it is only 16 gb internal memory
jeghue, 04 Oct 2010Nokia N8 review....
seem... moreAlso that site has user reviews 4½ stars up from CNETs 3 stars.
It's a trend to bash Nokia in media just cos it's Nokia. CNET, Techradar, Engadget and Gizmodo have done this and been bashed down by users for stupid, biased and rigged reviews/comparisons.
jeghue, 04 Oct 2010Nokia N8 review....
seem... moreThat (and techradar) review has been marked as pretty poor journalism. He clearly prefers iOS/Android, which as it is fine, but he doesnt even MENTION USB OnTheGo feature, which is the most awesome feature in the phone pretty much.
Comparing pictures with a thumbnail sized pictures after lots of compressing when the native size is 4000x3000 pixels? Very smart.
Try to look for user reviews, they are very positive. This is finnish so you won't understand it, but you can see the stars, 5 is max: http://hintaseuranta.fi/tuote.aspx/424577#totsikko
The actual customers are very satisfied with their product.

Can u do one final test for me -- fill the 16 gb internal memory with audio/video a... moreI'm sorry, I'm not going to test that, cos I have like exactly 2 gigabytes of music on my on computer/phone combined. My only internet connection atm is a wireless 3G USB dongle connection with max 1mbit in.
So no, I'm not gonna download 14 gigabytes with that connection just try this, sorry.
However I know someone who already filled their 16gb internal with music and while he do/say anything about your question as it is, but he didnt complain that performance wouldve gone down or anything.
Nokia N8 review....
seems like its not as groundbreaking as campaigned...
[deleted post]People are currently saying Symbian sucks etc, without ever having used SYmbian^3, it's true that the S60 5th edition wasnt all that good, but this has just about nothing to do with that.
Windows Vista was bad, but Windows 7 is very good. It's the 100% same thing in here.
just called nokia malaysia
will only get this masterpiece latest by 17th october.
that is way too long for me.
................cant hardly wait to play with this...
pls make it fast nokia.....
Nitesh, 04 Oct 2010Because Google maps has WAY more coverage than OVI maps in India, can't say for others... and ... moreFair enough, well, you could at least give it a shot, maps update from time to time.
Wheez, 04 Oct 2010I dont know cos every N8 user I know have praised ovi maps over google maps. Why exactly do yo... moreBecause Google maps has WAY more coverage than OVI maps in India, can't say for others... and when the required area is not covered or if any required POI is not listed in OVI maps, google maps is the one to my rescue
Here's a good video sample of N8.
Here's some samples:
[deleted post]He either has a faulty piece or is just trying to (amongst many others) bring Nokia and N8 down without ever trying to device.
I can assure u 100% that no one on the finnish forum I read and write on has mentioned downsides like that. Those are also like the biggest strenghts of the N8 so if someone would have something to complain about, it would be something totally else.
I'm not sure if he's just trolling or whether he has a faulty piece. There's a chance he got one of those 100€ chinese fakes that were around like 1 month before the N8 was released.
I took over 50 pictures with 12 mpix with lots of little detail (I needed to copy a book cos I had to return to) and the battery is still full.
I'm loving the batterylife
Ignore Vincent. He keeps posting the same thing over to troll around.
