Wheez, 03 Oct 2010No, in many parts of the world you can try the N8 in shops etc.
How can you know it's infer... moredo u think will i be happy using nokia n8 considering i have seen htc desire n xperia x10 in my hands? give me a fair answer :)
yes its all about opinions n different views but one opinion which is generally believed is that symbian is dying n thats the reason SE n Samsung have dumped it
Anonymous, 03 Oct 2010do u know why SE and Samsung has dumped symbian? No, I'm not the CEO of either company.
Android is popular in the US, Symbian dominates in every other part of the world. SE and Samsung have alot better chance at winning Nokia on the US markets where it's not that popular. Also, it's easier to make phones for just one platform cos Android and Symbian are so different. The N8 wouldn't in its current form be an android phone ever, it would require drastic changes. So you can have the same kind of hardware and put it on all your stuff.
Also, Samsung now has it's own Bada OS, I don't think it would be smart to have Symbian, Android and Bada phones on a mobile phone company such as Samsung.
Android is extremely good, no one denies that. It still has a way to go before it would ever find it's way to any mobile phone I use though, it lacks the maturity that only comes with time. The issues are being worked out, 2.2. already fixed many of them.
Thanks goodness I've managed to get rid of my X10. It only had a old android version and I got tired of promisses. Sorryericsson lives on past glory. They have one of the worst android phones out there ! My biggest gripe with android is the poor multitasking. Even my old N95 was better.
Anonymous, 03 Oct 2010do u mean that i should buy the phone n use symbion 3 n than decide? No, in many parts of the world you can try the N8 in shops etc.
How can you know it's inferior to all these when you have never in your life used it? On paper is on paper, you can't rank phones by specsheets alone. Not to mention that the order in whic hyou ranked phones probably works for you. But people value different things. That list does not hold true for me, it's an opinion, not a fact, learn the difference.
Wheez, 03 Oct 2010How much experience you have with Symbian^3?do u know why SE and Samsung has dumped symbian?

Wheez, 03 Oct 2010You still arn't backing that up any ways.
Can you explain me how do Android phones compensa... morei know that alot of die hard nokia fanboys are here n i am not here to offend anyone n i just want to let everyone know that as a whole package(includes alot of stuff) htc desire, xperia x10,galaxy S,google nexus one are much better than nokia n8
yes there would be features which would be only in nokia n8 n vice versa but unless u find a mobile with good 0S its not much of a big deal
Anonymous, 03 Oct 2010yes almost all of the stuffs the android mobiles i mentioned can do apart from maybe 1 or 2 n ... moreYou still arn't backing that up any ways.
Can you explain me how do Android phones compensate for the lack of USB OTG for example? It's a feature I very highly value. Theres no app that can make up for that.
Mark, 03 Oct 2010Dont give us numbers, thats bull, give me the actual factual reasons that those devices are su... moreyes almost all of the stuffs the android mobiles i mentioned can do apart from maybe 1 or 2 n the mobiles are just much superior as a whole package....only advantage would be the 12 mp camera of nokia n8 but xperia x10 8.1 mp is also very good
so as a whole package those devices are superior to n8
Wheez, 03 Oct 2010That's a good point, but personally I don't know anyone who carries a spare battery with them.... more2 days of battery life is easily achieved with htc desire with android 2.2 n xperia x10 achieves close to 2 days of battery life n with 2.1 update there is further improvement of 30 % battery n i think that news is pretty old about the battery problems atleast in the case of htc desire n xperia x10
Anonymous, 03 Oct 2010my friend its not only about specs
its about specs,software,graphics,speed,performance,easi... moreThat's a good point, but personally I don't know anyone who carries a spare battery with them. I rather have 2 days of battery life than 2x 1 day battery life batteries, though.
Aww fawk, I lied! It doesn't give you the option of changing a default email client, but I'm sure there are/will come 3rd party email clients that support widgets and the full application.
Currently in the options you can change the following defaults:
Browser, Music player, Video player, Photo viewer.
Found at least one email client from OVI store already: http://store.ovi.com/content/39140?clickSource=search

its about specs, software, graphics, speed, performance, easiness of the device n looks also count alot in todays smartphones. all the devices i mentioned are better than nokia n8 n if u use one after using n8 u will know that definitely
as far as the battery is concerned that problems have been solved by updates from different manufactures n also android 2.2 software
i would rather prefer a device which can use a spare battery rather than one(nokia n8) without it

Nokia N8 gets lots of stick in early reviews, we wonder why
[deleted post]LOL. Whatever you say I loved using N8.
After using horrible N97 I never expected N8 to hit back. I see BIG improvements in Symbian3 devices.

As I've told you too many times by now, I've SEVERAL times suggested iPhone/Android phones to people asking which phone should they get, since the criteria they gave fit better to some other phone than N8.
People who read these forums actively can prove I've done that many times.
Anonymous, 03 Oct 2010u know it y they all are superior n u can check out the specs n compare them :)
Specs? You think that's what makes a phone?
Why do I need a 1ghz CPU when all it would contribute to on the N8 is wasting battery. The N8 has a very powerful GPU which makes it very even to other current smartphones.
I think you can see the power of N8s GPU pretty well there. The CPU is inferior and it shows in some areas, but overall I think those are pretty even, every device has an emphasis on slightly different thing.
