[deleted post]Good work Wheez. Keep it factual and to the point. Perhaps this has been asked already, but have you been able to use opera mobile as the default browser on the device? As in, weblinks in an email open Opera mini instead of the stock browser?

Thx

Anonymous, 03 Oct 2010yes i saw them n some of them said same old outdated symbian n the reason why i am disappointe... moreWell, it pretty much only looks the same than earlier Symbians. Symbian^3 has been overhauled for touch screen devies, no stupid double taps and endless popups of making sure if you wanna do that. Sure, there are still a fair bit of menus, but do you know what having the menus there bring? Options and features. The menus seem very logical to me and I don't feel them as any kind of a burden, actually I don't really even get how would I come along without them, when I wouldn't have the options directly there at hand.

Those reviews were quite clueless though. Did you read the spot about "wading through pages of icons and menus and swiping and scrolling just to find the email client" or something? When I unlock the phone, my email client is right there (widget), I see the first 2 messages there and whether they have been read or not, a single tap will open the full email client for me. It's not an iPhone, so they shouldn't use it like the iPhone.

It's all cool that you can go all day with the iPhone without opening a single menu unlike in the Symbian, but you have nowhere near the same freedom as you will on Symbian.

I'd still really suggest that you try it out yourself if possible, but HTC Desire is a good device by all means, can't go much wrong with that :)

Anonymous, 03 Oct 2010And did you see the consumers rating and review who are much more reliable and honest?yes i saw them n some of them said same old outdated symbian n the reason why i am disappointed is becoz i after such a long time they released the mobile n i was accepting some big changes made in symbian but its a pity that they did not n it seems a bit outdated.

i want to buy a mobile worth my money n at the moment it seems htc desire is much better than nokia n8 n i saw the videos of both mobiles n it seemed as if their is no match between the 2 devices n htc desire is way ahead

a pity that i will miss n8 camera but i guess 5 mp camera should be good enough

Anonymous, 03 Oct 2010check out the reviews of nokia n8 n its very disappointing.... i thought i would buy nokia n8 ... moreAs someone already said, real customers don't really seem to agree with those sites, also as pointed my many people, those reviews are all but good and fair, I'd be ashamed to write anything like that.

As said, look at the customer reviews, they show a whole different aspect.

This also shows an interesting thing, it's in Finnish so you probably can't understand it, but check how satisfied (a max of 5 stars) the customers have so far been. There are couple of negative ones and they mainly complain about the lack of pure specs (like low RAM, they dont complain that its not enough to do whatever they wanna do on the device (cos it is enough), they simply complain cos many other phones have more, thats stupid.

But, if barely possible, try to get your hands on the device yourself. I for one couldn't be happier with the purchase and I'll almost rather trade my mom away than my N8 :D
