I've read couple of views on others tech sites. One of them rated N8 - 3/5. Yes Nokia's flagship most anticipated device as 3/5. Another tested 12MP camera & compared it with iPhone4.
First adjusted that S^3 is polished OS but still is difficult to operate. One has to go deep into menus to find desired option though such hassle has reduced considerably in comparison to S^1. N8 has got one of the best hardware specs but app support still remains poor.
My Take : We were told categorically in early 2010, that there would be no major changes in UI & OS in update to S^3. Those apparent changes will not be visible before S^4. All I'm supposed to review in N8 in context of OS is strictly if S^3 able to enhance user experience & how settled is OS on the device !!!
Reviewers agreed its better & settled, however there concern is Symbian outdated & not easy to use as compared to iOS & Androids. C'Mon why are you reviewing the product ? We all knew it. In context of Application store, you better be aware of gigantic strides of OVI in recent while both in terms of volume downloads & concentration of good app/games.
Just to rate N8 - 3/5 coz its running Symbian is insane.
Another site, I felt pasted butter on lens of N8 while testing camera abilities of N8. More awful were over saturated pics of iPhone4.

Audio quality is very sufficient for me, but I can't say whether it's actually good or bad cos I don't really know what is good quality by normal standards :D

Also, Opera Mini and Opera Mobile are perfectly supported apart from pinch to zoom, which is a shame, so if you find the browser lacking, those are probably better options in all cases but the pinch to zoom. I'm sticking with the original browser for the pinch to zoom.

Can you feel it in your pocke... moreVibration is enough for me, but I guess it depends abit on your pants, if the phone was in contact with your leg you can easily feal it, but if you have abit looser pants you may not feel it. Hard to say.
I havn't used S60 (as in owned), but the N8 supports the same apps. The only difference is the screen and possibly resolution, many apps will probably work as they are, but for the ones that don't, it would be at least very easy for the devs to port it on the N8.
The web browsing is nice, but the current browser isn't the best. Another finnish guy who has the phone said he did comparison between his old N900 and the N8 using the same WLAN and same pages and N8 was faster every time. However, the N8s browser seems to lack a way to manually open a new window/tab. It supports em, but I havnt figured out any sensemaking manual way to open one. One way to do that is search something by google, open the result, which it opens into new window, then use this new window to whatever you wanted to do. Certainly not user friendly or simple, though. There's a new browser coded with Qt on the way though, so that won't be an issue for long, I guess.

How is the vibration when someone calls ? Is it strong or weak ? Can you feel it in your pocket ? I have a Samsung Jet, and it's very weak. I want to have no sound, only vibration on. I'm considering buying the N8 because of that.

When this Nokia n8 is going to release in Dubai , Axiom telecomunication has taken 500 dirhams for booking but still Nokia N8 is not availabe.
This time Nokia has really showed sooooooooo lazyness , I really Love Nokia but they way they are working is very slow like tortois walk.

Yeah, I ordered mine in blue too. Very nice indeed. Did you use the s60 before? Can you load and play programs written for the N95 and N97? That is very very important for me.

For someone else asking:
I havn't had any hangs on it, it's very swift.
I personally won't use a screen protector. It's gorilla glass and should be basically immune against those little scratches. Also not having anything else in the same pocket as your phone helps alot.
I would rate it 4,5/5, mainly for the sake of not wanting to give anything full rating cos nothing's perfect :D
I don't mind the default theme/fonts, but I'd guess fonts could be changeable by themes if nothing else.
