Anonymous, 29 Sep 2010Have u experience the samsung wave in ur hand.ok lets differentiate between n8 and wave rather... moreYes I have, and it was very nice. I just don't like the way it looks, the material is nice for a change (From Samsungs usual plastic line). Also, I prefer Symbian cos its alot more mature OS than Bada is, Bada isn't bad, but it still has a long way to go till it reaches the same maturity. It also lacks some of the reasons I'm getting N8 in the first place. Little things and features like the FM transmitter, USB OTG for example.
However, I would not be even getting a smartphone if it wasnt for the N8. I hated 99,9% of the smartphones cos they were really ugly and when I first got to use the N8 I instantly fell in love with mainly the looks at that point and decided to get one in blue color (also an important thing, I do not want a dull black/silver phone again).
Also, while I try to remain as objective as possible when I comment here, I would rather get some Nokia "dumbphone" rather than buy any other manufacturers smartphone if I wouldnt buy the N8 for whatever reason. I'm from the city Nokias mobile business started from and have worked there at the factory myself in 3 different jobs (although I'm only 20) first in fixing feeders as a summerjob, then in the warehouse and then I moved into security where I was for little over 2 years till I quit working full hours due to starting university.
So that's why I won't even consider Samsung or anything but the N8. It doesnt however stop me from suggestng these phones to other people. The most important thing is to get a phone that suits YOUR needs, not what others say is the best (for them). There is no facts about "the best smartphone", only opinions and personal preference.
The N8 is just the "tailored" phone for me. I will not go for anything with less features than the N8 and I'm more than willing to give up the speed of iPhone and maybe some Android phones for that (Although the N8 is NOT slow). Also, having the options, I also wanna "show colors" as in supporting Nokia cos of my origins as well as have the freedom of picking a phone just cos it looks good. (For the record, I do not think the iPhone 4 looks good, better than Samsungs and HTCs IMO, but still not good)

In o... moreI thought a mobile phone is created to let people stay connect on the network. Allowing your phone to switch into "standby" mode will disable this feature just like how the offline mode does.
But is it your main purpose for the "standby mode" is to extend the battery life? If yes, maybe you should ask Nokia to use a more efficient battery IMO.

Anamita, 29 Sep 2010mistake from my side, i was thinking that nokia n8 is the best, but i was wrong, the truth ... moreWave is just amazing ,superb, outstanding, gud battery if u put the contract at level 3.

In o... moreI still don't see any real use for this feature, it makes sense in laptops somewhat, but not so much in a mobile phone. Offline mode should cut all emitting so u can use it like that in the airplane for example.
I just see zero reason for this feature, either use it in offline mode like normal people or turn it off. Do you really have to do that so often that it actually bothers u having to shut it down/start it? Maybe you should really look into that offline mode. I've NEVER in my life heard anyone complain about stuff like you are.
Extremely Disappoint, 29 Sep 2010Nokia World ended 2 weeks ago. I am pretty sure they would have already known that there will ... moreWhat does that have to do with Nokia world? They said it will be late, why would it be any better if it was told in Nokia world. And no, 2 weeks is a long time, they mightve found a crucial issue that needs to be fixed just now, which can be totally someones else but Nokias fault. Like, they could have some big component batch have faulty components, but still so that they run but they break very easily, in this case they would have to track down every single N8 that component from that batch was installed in and it has to be replaced.
It can be stuff like that and that stuff isnt Nokias fault, some things you can't find without a using said device for a longer time, in which the problem would occur.
The problem isn't in shipping, it's gonna be in tweaking the software or not meeting the demand with the supply. Not enough supply to meet the current demand is certainly one of the reasons.
Anamita, 29 Sep 2010mistake from my side,
i was thinking that nokia n8 is the best,
but i was wrong,
the truth ... moreNice try at trying to be Amanita, you mispelled the name.
As for that comment, the Wave is certainly a masterpiece, but the N8 still suits me a whole lot better. Even if anything else was equal, I'd still get the N8 for its looks, design and origin.
mistake from my side,
i was thinking that nokia n8 is the best,
but i was wrong,
the truth is that, samsung wave gt-s8500 is the best in whole universe.
samsung you have done good job by making a unique master piece as samsung wave gt-s8500.

Extremely Disappoint, 29 Sep 2010Nokia World ended 2 weeks ago. I am pretty sure they would have already known that there will ... morei did the same but the love still there im guna get the n8 aswell if it ever gets here
Nokia World ended 2 weeks ago. I am pretty sure they would have already known that there will be shipments issues. Did someone in their company forgot to tell the main person about this? I had delayed the recontracting of my postpaid plan hoping that i can get the N8. After the yet again delayed shipment news. I went out to the iPhone instead. Nokia - I am not giving you love anymore
Ali Abdulla, 29 Sep 2010there is a flight mode dude... its called "offline mode" press the power button... moreI know about the offline or flight-mode, but this is not the same as a real standby mode. In offline mode the N97 only turns off the radio, all other circuits are still running. Standby is a mode where everything is saved to memory and then everything switched off. When you press ON it will load the state again and be ready in seconds instead of several minutes. If Nokia still does not understand that this is important they are f#####.
what a great cellphone,, i wanna buy it soon :)
this phone is multifunctional, as phone nd ad a digital camera,, lol
The End of October will be the release date of the N8,so some more adjustments must be happening to make sure this phone does not let it customers down,an Nokia must be thinking with xmas not far away,November an December might be the best time to get more sales of the N8,will we get the C7 or C6-01 released before the N8,if so i might ditch the N8 as April to November along time for Nokia to get the N8 ready, but all we get is delays all the time an annoying loads of people like me an alot more

Specs Look Awesome!
And with everyone getting cross about waiting so long, you can be sure that when nokia eventually brings out the N8 it will be a working smartphone device, unlike apple who's iPhone 4 can't make calls unless you hold it a certain way, and is so fragile the screen and back breaks when you put it down to hard.
I'm pro nokia all the way, my 5800 xpress music has treated me very well, a lot better than my iphone/blackberry friends, so I can't wait to upgrade to the N8 soon.
