[deleted post]nokia own blog showing n8 is slower than iph4
http://mynokiablog.com/2010/09/20/video-nokia-n8-vs-iphone-4-symbian3-vs-ios4/
[deleted post]just how n8 had to copy capacitive screen, multitouch, coverflow fr iph to survive. But comparing n8 to iph4 is unfair since iph4 is top end and n8 is midrange
SHAZ, 30 Sep 2010hey wavy boy..wake up...there is no way in which u can compare n8 with wave ok?.its like the r... morearm11 alone makes nokia cheap no matter what it has. Arm11 is outdated now
Anonymous, 29 Sep 2010N8 is NOT better than Samsung Wave!
And Wave is NOT PLASTIC LINE!
Wave have fine metal body ... morehey wavy boy..wake up...there is no way in which u can compare n8 with wave ok?.its like the rat fighting with a lion(n8)..even though wave does have bada os,it lacks many functions like multitasking and all.and its pics taken in its camera only luks good in the phone's screen becoz of the super amoled, but wen u put it onto comp...u vl get to knw how poor the clarity is...i mean the lighting.i used wave for 1 month and just sold it away just like that..the only thing i liked in it was the super amoled screen..it was realy outstanding.but it can never be considered as a smartphone.n8 does stand above wave at all aspects...like camera...hdmi option,..plug and touch feature by which u can turn ur lcd tv,projector,etc.. into a touch screen(the best faeture ever in phones),..usb..,and wide screen hd video recording..,symbian 3 os,stylish built, and as usual the user friendlyness.i havnt found any other company other than nokia manufacturing user friendly phones.
nokia rocks as always.
and i do feel sory for the delay made by nokia to release n8...but remember guys....we hav to always wait for the best to come. late aa vandaalum latesta varum ;-)

Stuntman, 29 Sep 2010I think what N97mini_user wants is a fast start up time. My N97 takes about a minute to turn ... moreBlackberry turns on in a matter of seconds???
If you wanna see how long BB need time to boot up, remove the battery first, insert it again, then turn it on.
You'll see that BB need eons to boot up
Wheez, 29 Sep 2010Maybe cultural difference, but the N97 isnt designed to be turned off daily. Then again, N97 w... morePhones (whether it's the N97, N8, Blackberry or whatever brand) should be expected to be turned off from time to time. For instance, I'm sure a typical smartphone user will periodically go to a movie theatre where he is expected to turn off his phone. I'm sure there are many other activities that smartphone users partake in where he would need to turn off his phone. When he turns it back on again, it is a benefit to have it start up more quickly than slowly.
I'm not sure what cultural differences there is where you are from. At least where I am from (Canada), it is considered bad etiquette to have your cell phone on in a movie theatre when the movie is playing. Also, where I work, it is good etiquette to turn off your personal cell phone during work.
is n8 would b abgread to symbian4? I wish so as other devices.
can't get why n8 use arm11 processor which can even be found on 5230. GPU will not help much.
Wheez, 29 Sep 2010I didn't say any of that for crying out loud, learn to read.

you love N8 because is name NOKIA???
wtf???
you say YOUR opinion???
who talk for YOUR opinion!?!
i mean, TECHNICALLY is better and you give me an argument if it is not!
And the fact that you love N8 because the Nokia producer, whom to care?
I absulutly think that this is one of the best mobile phones ever made!

Wheez, 29 Sep 2010I still don't see any real use for this feature, it makes sense in laptops somewhat, but not s... moreI think what N97mini_user wants is a fast start up time. My N97 takes about a minute to turn on. It is very annoying to me because my Blackberry turns on in a matter of seconds. I have a Blackberry for work and an N97 for personal use. Every workday, I turn my work phone on when I start work and turn it off when work ends. Likewise, I turn my personal phone off when I start work and turn it back on after work.
I am merely speculating that the Blackberry's fast start up time may be that it is not actually turning off, but is in standby mode. In any case, it starts up fast in mere seconds. That is what I would like in a phone and I believe that is what N97mini_user wants as well. However they do it does not matter to me.
I like the look and specs of the N8 and i wanted to buy one asap, and if i'm going to wait for 3 months for a new phone upgrade while my N97 falls apart...volume not working, battry cover broken again and held on with stickytape, poor battery life....then Nokia keeps shifting its release date, well it will force a lot of people to look elsewhare.

So have you actually figured out if the de... moreNo, but even if I would/could find out, I would probably break my Non-Disclosure Agreement to tell it in here if Nokia decides not to shed light on it.
But as a guess I'd say it's both. They are working their asses off to provide enough of em and it's understandable to not wanting to send small batches of them instead of full loads. So meanwhile they are making more of em, they also get the chance to tweak the software abit more.
But the one I use nearly daily, I havn't found a single bug from it. I also know a couple of guys who have had the chance to use a prototype as their normal phone for months and they said they havn't had it hang like older Symbians have, for example.
Certainly there's something to tweak, but personally I havn't found anything critical about it. The biggest issue software wise I've found is that photo/video editor seems to be badly optimized. Even in their very simple menus they run in like 10 FPS, while any other included app runs with some easy 60 FPS if/when needed. And that bad performance in the photo/video editor is even when not editing anything, u can see it in some videos when they just launch those, its alot choppier than anything else in the phone.

So have you actually figured out if the delays (where delay there is) were due to the high demand or to a software issue?
Anonymous, 29 Sep 2010As well as many would wish you good luck waiting for the N8...
Do you even know when you&ac... moreI get to use the N8 myself daily, I see them manufactured with my own eyes nearly weekly too. I have no doubts about this device. Also probably the reason why I don't have much of a trouble waiting for this. I also understand that after N97 is understandable that they don't want to release it with too early software, cos they can't afford doing new N97s here.
I also understand that they were forced to announce it early due to that stupid Eldar Murtazin or w/e.
K.H, 29 Sep 2010That's it. I cancelled the pre-order I made 3 weeks ago. So much for the excitement of Nokia N... moreWho cares.
As for learning to read, i should probably try some too with the "wishing luck waiting my N8" comment in the earlier message :D

For me, the N8 is better, theres nothing you can argue about this cos you are not me. It's my opinion. I said the Wave is a wonderful wonderful device and IF I would get anything but the N8, it probably would be Samsung Wave. But only the looks of the Wave alone would make me not buy it, just my personal opinion.
