I'm a nokia fan too and have always preferred nokia phones, but am loosing faith in them due to the ridiculous long wait when other companys just annouce and then release within weeks. I've waited this long so I may as well carry on waiting until I get one now otherwise it was a waste of time waiting so long. This is Nokia's last chance with me -if I don't get this phone in October and in perfect condition then I will never buy another nokia again.
The only thing is though, apart from this phone I have no idea what phone to get as battery life is very important to me and I know all the good android phones hardly last a day

N8 gREaT, 29 Sep 2010nokia always sucks... even if they relaese a product in a year time... at last that will be fl... moreNokia Always suck, are u american or live on another planet, the first N73 The N82 were & the Nokia N82 Is still the best camera phone u can buy (withoug hd video) & the build quality & hardware have always been fantastic, no Made in china for Nokia.

I bought my first Nokia phone 12 years ago and since then i though Nokia was the best i could get.. But a diferent reality was to be seen in the years to come. The Nokia phones start to loose quality, as long the years were passing, more and more times we had to unplug out batteries, more and more times the phones were passing time in nokia services repairing...
This phone has not come out yet and just past interest... The first time i saw the apresentation i said 'whow, that's my next phone.', but time is passing and the phone isnt at the stores and i realize 'it must have a problem or it had come out when it was suposed to'... Nokia commercial service and phones are the image of the company: Getting worst by the years and i think this phone is one more example. A tale to be told to our grandchildreen!..
My father used to say: we can be the best in one thing or mediocre in everything...
As Nokia is launching phones every week i think that the general ideia is to be medicocre instead of being the best!
Prove i'm wrong and make this worth the money!
And i'm just a nokia fan.. Just think if i were not! :)

Polio, 29 Sep 2010Just heard its to be released on 2nd October in UK, source: http://www.mynokia-wa-teva.comif you get it on pay as you go from nokia u may get on the 2nd but vodafone and 02 ant selling till at least 22nd of october and i hear it may get put back again

We do have sense and we know what we have to do, as in buying n8 or not, why are you so very desperate to make us think that nokia n8 "has something wrong in it" when you have never tried it. How can you judge it this way, and that too make others feel the same way? I'm very sorry if I'm sounding rude, but I was very surprised to read such a comment!

Wheez, 29 Sep 2010While it may be slightly outdated when it comes to todays hot specs, but featurewise it still ... moreScrew specs. This is not a race between desktop PCs that your processor speed matters. iOS, Android and Symbian are totally different from each other in design and hardware used.
Symbian has been around for close to 10 years, and has been designed to work with low processors/hardware.
As long as the phone is quick and responsive and doesn't run out of memory, who cares about the processor speed? It's not like you're going to perform
floating point math calculations on it.
I have a 2007 era N82, with a 333 MHz processor,a dedicated OpenGL ES graphics processor and 128 MB RAM, with about 90 MB available on boot up.
To date I've never faced an out of memory issue, and my phone runs pretty decently fast and can run NFS Underground and other games that were designed for it.
