I'm a photographer and used this phone all over the world with my pro-level photogear, and usually when I couldn't bring the gear, such as to the top of mountains during sports. I have numerous pics that I've printed and sold from the cam on board.
It even survived a spraying while washing my car, with water getting directly into the headphone port.
Unfortunately, last year the USB port died. I bought replacements, but the operation seems to require more skill than I have with later PC boards. Thus I retired the phone and went with Samsung. Overall, I like actually having apps, but the operation and integration in Symbian can't be beat. When I shut off an app in Symbian, it turns off. Battery not wasted, multi-tasking, and so on. Have a 1020 now, which, while it has connectivity the N8 doesn't have (ie: networking Apps), its operation is painfully slow and the cam doesn't live up to the hype, though the RAW capability helps A LOT.
I own this phone four years, has many useful features, especially camera that rivals of present phones. The only problem is the slow processor and low RAM, than browsing web pages is very bad. I would like to mention that this phone had the defective display from the manufacture that displayed a pink color instead grey and I had to complain about phone to manufacturer to change display of the phone.
Allan, 23 Dec 2015How to download text messages from phone N8 to PC?nokia suite
This phone is a Monster. Features like DLNA, TV HDMI Out, 12 Mp camera, never ending battery life. These are features that not even the best smartphones of today's generation have. Having these features in a phone released in 2010 its like being ahead of time. Have been using it since last 3.5 yrs. If Symbian wont have shut down, this device would still have been rocking.
very nice phone i use mine for traveling abroad
battery last long time, and very good on reception.
galaxy note 4 ,iphone 5 , both failed on reception in my house but the nokia n8 gets the reception 4/4 bars can make and receive calls all on the same network.
MdN8, 15 Dec 2015I would if I knew the answer. I did a little research and this is the only thing I found http:... moreI face no problem when I try to play 4 GB MP4 video file from a pendrive via USB OTG cable.
MdN8, 15 Dec 2015I would if I knew the answer. I did a little research and this is the only thing I found http:... moreHey. The same video gets played when encoded into two parts of 1 GB each. The same applies for 808 pureview and N8. :-(
S . SUDHAKAR, 13 Dec 2015See my previous post and reply.I would if I knew the answer. I did a little research and this is the only thing I found http://www.allaboutsymbian.com/forum/showthread.php?p=486416#post486416 it looks like it will play 4 GB videos for one person, but not 2 GB videos for another person, probably a codec problem and it would take longer to convert the movie than to watch it on PC. If you tried more files and it was the same for all of them, well, I'd just give up and watch 720p videos. Sorry.
MdN8, 09 Dec 2015Brilliant! :-DSee my previous post and reply.
