cpw, 25 Sep 2010Delayed: 22nd October 2010, UK release.Early preorderers still have a chance to get the phone with original schedule. However the demand has exceeded supply by so much that they had to push the non-preorder availability back.
So the first batch still gets shipped next week.

... moreThere's always gonna be a newer and better model out there. When the N9 will be close to coming out, there's already the next better model in the air and then you think whether you should wait again.
Personally though I think N85 -> 5800 was a bigger jump than N8 -> N9 will be.

By the way.. I wonder why should be buy N8 if N9 is going to be released in just few months later? I can see my n85 starting being forgotten few months after the release of 5800...

This phone seems INCREDIBLE. I haven't found a single bad thing about this phone so far... And come on, how on earth did they manage to integrate such a great camera in a mobile phone??

ui is no... moreI don't think that the N8 will directly even compete with the iPhone.
They are so very different kind of phones in the end, that I don't think they necessarily fight for the same crowd. Anyone who needs/wants the features of the N8 would probably look somewhere totally else than the iPhone, like some Samsungs or HTCs maybe. Anyone who wants a trendy phone that is all smooth and cool most likely wouldn't consider N8 (apart from teh outer design and materials, but the UI probably wont cut it for these people).
Both are great devices for what they are meant to do and neither has to kill each other, if you ask me.

smart people wont need install many apps in their symbian phone, they just need the vlc player coreplayer, divx player, google earth and flickr, banking apps, shopping app
hope nokia can look at the top 100 iphone games, and work with the games developers to bring themto symbian 3 using qt sdk
if they listen to this advice, nokia is perfect
