You and me can take a bug or two, but many others won't.
I've used the N8 pretty much every week for the last month several times a week and I've noticed no software issue. I wonder where did that horribly severe software issue pop up from :D
Wheez, 22 Sep 2010Yeah, certainly they lose some customers with delays, but it's better to lose them to a delay ... moreWell, I am not sure... I mean, if these last issues could be fixed with a sofware upgrade, I wouldn´t mind having a few bugs with it for a few weeks...And I don´t think that this will be seen as bad as this delay...
But maybe this is more severe issues...
Anonymous, 22 Sep 2010I´m pretty certain that they already started to loose customers!! That makes no doubt!!
... moreAlso, HTC and Nokia arn't exactly comparable. HTC is nothing but a bulk phone manufacturer, they don't even have to worry about OS. While Nokia still has Symbian and Meego around. That's also why Nokia will not go android, they don't want to become a bulk phone manufacturer like HTC, for example.
But feel free to google that those reliably released phones certainly arn't bug/fault free.

Yesterday i seen a video on the youtube that n8 can turn any lcd or plasma screen into touch screen.....wow its so amazing..... iphone and samsung can not even think of that......
Long Live Nokia N8
Wheez, 22 Sep 2010Yes, but there's only one day between the last day of september and first of october.
I too... moreI´m pretty certain that they already started to loose customers!! That makes no doubt!!
It seems that time only will tell but I have a hard time conforting myself with the fact that the delay is only to make the N8 fault free... Yes true, it´s been a lot worse with the Iphone but many other companies like samsung and HTC are much faster to release reliable smartphones...
So whatever is going on at Nokia´s end is no good, specially during this hard times they are facing...
[deleted post]See, that's the thing. You need 4 different Samsungs that are very good in one thing to overtake the awesome balance the N8 has.
All those Samsungs are good, but I personally wouldn't buy any of them.
noks people are no good in terms of software innovation, noks cnt even catch up with android in terms of software innovation, n8 is good in terms of camera though, a review is much awaited
Anonymous, 22 Sep 2010I went through this... very vague and general article...

I too, can read that something has changed, but I don't really mind/consider a few days of delay as much. If the shipping will still start during september, it's very unlikely to reach me end of october, seeing that I'm from Finland myself, heck, I even live in the same city where the phones are made! :D (Although they will travel to Helsinki from here first, most likely).
I'm abit meh about all this, too and not really gonna be holding my breath next week (when it would be supposed to come), but if they arn't lying too much, it could still make it to me next week.
Not to mention that the delay wouldn't really even be that bad, cos they can't afford doing N97s again and if it means better tweaked device and possibly the new browser, can't complain.
As said, even if it was a software issue, it's alot better for Nokia to delay it than push it out with the issue. It just won't work directly after N97. They are gonna lose alot more customers that way than by delaying ever.
Wheez, 22 Sep 2010Didn't read/bother translating but I'll believe you on it's contents.

In October... So that could still be end of October... and this whole thing could still be about Nokia trying to hide a sofware issue behind the transport time...
Not sure, I hope not of course but it does not sound too promising anyways...
AMOLED capacitive touchscreen is rubbish believe guys! you can't see anything in a bright place.

This is official site, while I don't necessarily say that your site has wrong info, but at least this is official PR.

On Monday, an official statement was released informing that the N8 would ... moreAnd for the record, how much different was it for iPhones? Sure, they got the first batches to the preorderers and still made half of the world wait :D
This is what happens when demand exceeds supply, the whole product has not been delayed.
