Its getting very odd about the released date in the u.k,just seen a photo of a shop in Manchester saying 5 days to go to get the Nokia N8,but mobilefun an play.com still showing 5th October,i pre-ordered mine with Nokia on contract but not heard nothing about the time an day i will recieve the N8,just seen a bad video of the N8 against the iPhone4 on Daily Mobile website an hopes this was the prototype one not the Final N8 or it shows the N8 to be alot slower than expected

For pre-order we need to pay 1k rupees. I'm going for pre order tomorrow. They said that there'll be 2 to 3 surprising gifts offered by nokia according to that nokia priority dealer if we pre-order the phone. Price is also for pre-orders only as I was told.

@ Harsha...Are you sure about the N8 costing 24000 INR? Will it be available to those without pre-order? The guys here said that they are going to release very limited stocks initially and it wnt be available without the pre-order. If it costs less than 25k, I am surely gonna get the blue one.

deepest_sense, 20 Sep 2010why the zoom is 2x?What else should it be? Optic zoom would be close to impossible to implement into a mobile phone if you wanna keep the size small enough. Digital zoom does nothing but just makes the picture bigger, it's the same effect you get from stretching an image on your computer.
So take the pic, move on your computer and make it bigger there, the result is the same :D

Hey friends. Nokia N8 is going to be available in India from 25th this month. I'm from Hyderabad and when I enquired in nokia priority shop, they replied the same and said the price is 24000 Indian rupees. (Advance 1000 rupees). Really awesome phone.

Wheez, 20 Sep 2010That's correct, at least in Finland (don't see why it would be different in other countries), ... moreHmh, indeed you seem to be correct, Dwane. Nokias UK site does not mention about the OMU (Ovi Music Unlimited) or CWM, but the finnish online store does. The difference also is that the green color on finnish site is not along with the other colors, but it has it's own page on the store and it's named "N8 OMU". The UK site has all colors on the same page, maybe the OMU thing is just selected markets? Sounds weird though..

You can simply just change the colour of your order and there is no difference in price or any mention of OVI music etc. What do you think?

I believe nowadays CWM is actually "Ovi Music Unlimited", at least in N8s case.
