vanil, 14 Sep 2010So if that game runs much smoother ALL others devices, i mean all
So can we say it's harder... moreIt's necessarily not harder, but optimizing games for all very different OSs (Symbian being the latest one being ported to, i believe) is not an overnight task.
For example, Symbian is coded with C++, but uses it's own, custom libraries to maximize resource efficiency. Maybe without those special libraries it wouldnt need much optimization, but without those, the Symbian would be quite resource heavy. And I rather have a well running phone in general in stead of one game running well :P

So can we say it's harder to make things run smooth on symbian than others phone?
That's not good thing for customer
I still would blame the old cpu, because even the palm pre uses arm8 and can run that game. If i remember correct N8 uses the old arm11 model?
no-one else dont use ARM11 anymore on hi end devices?
Vanil, 14 Sep 2010Finally i think i saw the last firmware version of asphalt 5 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kc... morewhy don't you see for yourself the real thing first before you jump to such conclusion and judging people a liar?
and you make decision how good a phone is based on 1 game, like asphalt? wow o_O
and also launch in portugal at 1,999zł in indian rupees is 30110 Rs.

I'd still call it on lack of optimization/bad porting. Same thing can be seen in pic/video editor. Everything else in the OS/UI runs with like 60 fps, when you open either the pic or video editor, even in the simplest menu in there without actually editing, runs with like below 20 FPS.
There's no reason for the editors to run that slow, cos in the videos where they were opened were simply opened, nothing was actually being edited.
So I'd say those editors are also badly optimized, Asphalt could be the same thing.
Vanil, 14 Sep 2010Finally i think i saw the last firmware version of asphalt 5 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kc... moreIt's not necessary the device, it could be a badly ported game as well. A good device can't always compensate for badly optimized software.
As for when I've said it doesn't need 1ghz processor is cos it doesnt for what I use it for. And sadly, probably the only thing I will not do on a mobile phone is play games.
nokia n8 launch in netherlands at €429 in indian is 25439k
nokia is also launch c7 at same price in netherlands,
for more detail check this link.
Buy the N8... Simply because the OS in both is the same, there a few differences apart from the Qwerty Keyboard and honestly, havin a physical keyboard in a phone makes it nearly 50gs heavier and it hesitates going into your pocket -_-! The camera well sint 8 mps enough? But 12 mp cam just sounds cool :P
Well cant say anything about Symbian 3 yet but Android still comes second after iOS in my list simply because of the navigation i mean street view and all that other load adds a new experience to navigation... concerning Apps its got quite a few now, most of them are free and the OS itself is 'light' and it aint buggy... Symbian is just a simple OS, its got no great apps(not as great as Android or iOS) and its somewhat easier to get along with...
Hope that helps :)
Finally i think i saw the last firmware version of asphalt 5 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kc0iKEtfZQs
Holy shit thats much much worse than what i expected
It's one big laggy video
i kind a believed nokia fans when they first time sayed its not final version so that's why its slow. But i dont see any improvement on speed after three months.
All the nokia boys lie to me and say but it has huge gpu and it doesnt need more power, i'm pissed off, that game runs much smoother with two years old palm pre.
Now i stop believing those fairytales.
phoenixxm, 14 Sep 2010Any idea whether symbian 3^ can be upgraded to 4^ anytime laterMost likely not upgradable at least so that nokia would support it
