AMANITA, 12 Sep 2010E7/ symbian^3 phone-
http://m.youtube.com/watch?gl=US&warned=True&client=mv-google&am... morelol, too much confusion but I think you're right, but also I haven't seen even any prototype nokia device running MeeGo in any video..
I just hope they officially announce both E7 and N9 (if there's any) before the launch of N8 so that we don't make any wrong decisions choosing the right one! ;)
According to GSMonline.pl, this is the “final version of Symbian^3″ for the Nokia N8. Is that as in final firmware? It’s dated (At least on the phone) to only be 10th September. If that’s correct and this N8 has the latest firmware then this should be the commercial firmware that we’ll be getting (and then some regional variations).
Thus, no excuse for any delays, bugs, whatsoever having waited so long for this handset?
Usual N8 hands on demo
YouTube can play flash or via the N8′s own media player – like all Symbian handsets.
Need for Speed Shift – click HD to watch the 720p recording of this video to at least better appreciate the N8′s widescreen gaming. NFS looks very fluid.. btw, NFS got exited via menu button, not crashing. Though I’m wondering what portion got cut. Crash? Delay? Personal info from call on the screen? Who knows. There seems to be subtle cuts in a few places. Perhaps to tidy the video up? I’d rather see all the hold ups if possible future video folk. Just blur if there are sensitive info.
Maps is opening up pretty quick, (and it wasn’t already open). GPS lock was subsequently a couple of seconds after viewing the map. Pretty good for those moments you just want to check “where am i?” and then the subsequent navigation.
Other apps do open up quicker (by symbian standards), though it would help IMMENSELY, if there were more animations to distract you from the loading.
Screen Rotation takes awfully long – BUT – recording phones on a flat surface – it’s difficult to get the angle to rotate the phone (whilst still being in the view finder). Happened many a times with me on the N900 and we’ve seen that it’s ridiculously fast at rotating from landscape to portrait and vice versa (when available).
Loading sites over 3G (Poland) seems sufficiently quick, especially with heavy flash. It’s worth noting though that the N8 will get a much improved (hopefully anyway) browser soon after launch.

Guys, you should know that ovi store is not the only source of symbian applications. Try searching on google. Symbian applications are everywhere.
Me, 12 Sep 2010I hate to say this but i agree with you,ovi store are still behind appstore and android market. But it wont stop me to buy this phone..:-)
Anonymous, 11 Sep 2010.....and N8 will never be a killer phone with application from OVI store.I hate to say this but i agree with you,ovi store are still behind appstore and android market.
I am worried that this set may be slow as it has only 680 MHz processor while most of the high profile sets have 1 GHz processor ....What do u think guyz?
SidewindeR, 11 Sep 2010I think orange looks really trendy and attractive. How about one of each? :)):)) I'd surely get the eyeballs going with 3 cellphones :P Questions about my possible ongoing medication aside :D

[deleted post]Sorry didn't catch that. Could you repeat yourself please ?
The possibilities is the facts that Nokia already fell behind by the google android and Iphone OS. All smart phone are about the same. What make its different is the applications , with Android market start growing day by day , what more Iphone.
Until Nokia improved their OS , the gap will be wider and wider with the rest of the players , LG , ACER , SE , Samsung who are now riding on Google Adroid which is seeing rapid growth.
Lets see what the new Nokia CEO , ex Microsoft , will have in his sleeve to tackle the issue.
.......The former CEO is kicked out is because of his Symbian hardcore attitude.........and N95 8gb is still the best Nokia Phone until today.
