My Galaxy s easily fits in my pocket with it's 4" screen.
Why then does the N8 only have a 3.5" screen ?
Peter, 07 Sep 2010No, I'm not worried.Why? Ok, granted, I'm no expert in phones, neither am I a "nokia hater", but my nokia e63 has LiIon 1500 battery. Using plain common sense, how can this battery be enough?

[deleted post]E5 ram=256mb
new world record! E5 managed to run 74 apps in the sametime, surpassing Samsung ’s i8910 record by 12 apps! That’s a serious multitasking demon!
There’s a little issue after all. After running all those applications, when it finally showed ‘out of memory’ message, there was still 86mb of free RAM!

That's my point too. I question only the performance on the UI, web, gallery..if those will work fast, then this phone will be my 1st choise.
check this. N8 has 1200 mah battery while HTC Desire has 1400 mah battery. But N8 has a longer hours of talk of 12 hrs and 30 mins for 2G compared to HTC desire's 6 and 40 mins for 2g! How pOOR!
I suggest N8 for you. Wave and Galaxy S is okay. Youll see in the features.
dave, 07 Sep 2010Man, I don't say that I wont buy N8. I love S60 apps like call recorders, black-list on calls/... moreN8 is the fastest symbian phone !
* cpu- itz 680mhz and itz underclocked,default 720mhz,can b overclocked to 800mhz
* ram- 256mb,can handle 15 applns,virtual ram can b used
* screen-amoled ! Only samsung has samoled !

That way you could finally make a proper comparison. I myself won't buy this phone till its proven to be snappy with that gpu onboard. Basing on the specsheet though, and taking the cpu stereotype out of your judgment, n8 'could' be one of the best.
HEY. N8 is not just a phone. not even just a smartphone!
It is a mobile computer. What does it means. it has the essentials of a pc in yourt pocket.]
It will be so powerful that best fits the Flagship MOdel of a Finnish company which aims of CONNECTING PEOPLE!
well it wont be our lost. Cant you get it. yes ARM 11 680 mhz is old. BUT it is combined with the fair 256 mb ram which makes N900 a multitasking beast! It is combined with a powerful Broadcom GPU + HW graphic accelerator like the one in the ALMIGHTY N95 8 GB

I love S60 apps like call recorders, black-list on calls/sms apps..those are real apps, not the games/apps from apple and android; they don't have such apps.
I just hate the fact that N8 will be slower than competition and the fact that it uses old part (cpu, ram, screen).

Come on dave compare only with one device.

I'm about to get myself one when i stumble on this page, read the specsheet and was amazed. I think hdmi out is cool, usb-otg is cool, 12mp camera is cool, broadcomm gpu is cool, not super amoled, but amoled is cool enough. Don't think that we don't recognize other phones for what it is worth. All of the specs you're about to steal from other pages and then post in here are already familiar to us. But we will still be loyal to n8. Because it has what we truly needs.
[deleted post]iphone in even not a smart phone in my opinion. Can you send a file via bluetooth? You get my point :)
Galaxy S, wave, desire, milestone, droid are better than N8, not to count the 12 mpx camera.
That's my opinion..that is..
Is the N8 simple to use as a phone? Because let's not forget that after all IT IS A PHONE. How easy is it for example to send a SMS without a keyboard? Is the menu as simple as the one used by the rest of the NOKIA phones?
