tadam, 05 Sep 2010This one will be out in some countries next week on Nokia's own store. The price? Tad under 50... moreIt won't, most likely.
Digitoday (and so many others sites) wrote wrong news, they were originally referring that the green model will OPEN for preorders next week, not that the green or any other color would actually be available next week.
This one will be out in some countries next week on Nokia's own store. The price? Tad under 500 euros. If you like touchscreen and symbian then this is for you! Enjoy :D

N8, 03 Sep 2010Love it.
but rom, ram and processor cud be better.
I mean 512 MB RAM, 1 or 2 GB ROM and ARM ... moreno thing is called super amoled , man.
samsung is the only which call it super amoled.
[deleted post]It most definitely isn't. It couldn't possibly have the n8s camera and be so thin.
Please, guys and girls. This is the N8 page, the N9 has it's own page and it is not this.
And with 99,9% certainity, the N9 will have free OVI maps.

would there are ovimaps free nav?
And nokia n8, would there be a nokia internet radio out of the box?
The Apple Fans who complains about the RAM and CPU of the N8!
The N8 has same RAM size 256MB like Your IPAD!!!!
I think this seems to be the true E90 successor. I got the impression that Nokia is putting every effort into making the N9 to a device which can be regarded as true hightech in the same way as the first Communicator.
In my opinion it's clearly the most attractive device on the market today and the only one who takes care of the PDA areas.
I would say that the N9 seems to be the PERFECT device. With those specs I simply can't think about things who can be better. With 1 GB internal disk, 64 GB mass storage and 32 GB microSDHC it means stunning 97 GB of storage!
That means - no more problems with a lack of storage space for videos, documents, images - it's a truly pocketable computer. Perhaps it gets the microSDXC which means 64 GB on the memory card - I would think Nokia will put such a card slot into the N9 instead of going for the SDHC.
With the combination of those specs and MeeGo which I think is the most suitable platform for PDA today (beside the Windows Mobile 6.x and Windows Embedded Handheld) I think Nokia has a killer device here. A true flagship for the most demanding users.
The only question is about the price. I would guess it will be identical to the E90 pricing when it was released in 2007.
I really hope that the N9 will be a TRUE Communicator successor, and I hope that another Meego device with similar specs and *officially branded as a COMMUNICATOR* also comes in some near future.
I do not have any problems with Communicators being Meego based rather than Symbian as Symbian in its current shape actually isn't a platform for Communicator type devices.
In my opinion, the best solution would be to create by Nokia a variant of Meego being a mixture of the Handset and Tablet Meego flavour especially for the Communicator series, which would make them more than just a smartphone and slightly less than a tablet/netbook, i.e. exactly what they're supposed to be.
This would be a true comeback for Nokia to the hi-tech world.
6 Reasons the Nokia N8 might hit the stores on September 14:
- Sept 14th is the grand opening of Nokia World.
- Nokia N8 pre-orders delivered same day as Nokia World could send the device trending on Twitter and other social media.
- 700€ fee to get into Nokia World could cover the cost of everyone including the developers attending the Nokia Developer Summit receiving a Nokia N8.
- The Nokia N8 is now available in the device selection on the Ovi Store.
- The Nokia N8 is available at Remote Device Access for Forum Nokia Pro.
- More Nokia N8′s are seen in the hands of Nokia Marketing people, indicating that they have provided enough devices to developers.
I guess it's true.
New technical specifications of the N9 start appearing here and there, and they are as follows:

SDRAM Memory: 512 MB SDRAM
Maximum Memory Card Size: 32 GB
Connectivity: Bluetooth 3.0, HDMI mini connector C, Micro-USB (OTG) ...
Battery: 1320 mAh
If they are true, then the N9 is going to be a REALLY powerful device.
Screen resolution of 1280x720 would be THE FIRST "HD ready 720p" display in a smartphone letting one view HD content WITHOUT ANY RESCALLING.
1 GHz Cortex-A8 should also be just fine (it's a 40% increase compared to N900) and should be easily overclockable to some 1,3 - 1,4 GHz.
1 GB NAND memory means that rootfs will finally have SUFFICIENT space to put all system components in there, without compromising speed on moving some parts to eMMC.
512 MB SDRAM means that swapping won't start until you really run A LOT of applications simultaneously and should have a huge positive impact on performance and overall experience.
And of course 12 Megapixel camera + 720 p video recording are also great features.
What do you think?
Is it a ablast for another companies............???????????? I think it would be a block baster phone......... Ha Ha Ha Ha h............
