Andy Satria Gunawan, 29 Aug 2010So, if a handphone has lens cover, its design will ugly?
You can see N97, N900, N86, N85, and... moreJust read the interview with Damian Dinning, there's a link for that in the left. He explains why they didn't put in the lens cover.
So, there's the reason, no point to argue, cos they won't be putting a lens cover into the N8.
talking about the built quality of nokia n8
how is the quallity of plastic for the top and bottom parts?, is its surface shiny? I hope it is not shiny beacuse it will be scratched if it is.
nice phone, if n9 is better than this in term of hardware spec, then nokia deserve the king of all time
i start counting down to nokia world 2010 now, it is just two weeks away now.
As per GSMARENA "smile detection" feature is available in N8. But I have read in many review it is not available. Which one is correct?
Where in India has pre - order started, if it has started that is ?
Anonymous, 29 Aug 2010The sim card slot is hot swappable, it is found at the side of this phoneit is not hot swappable.. because it resets when sim card is remove while its on..
Sorry N8 Lovers But All This Advantages Are Bitter Truth
Many Disadvantages of N8
Nokia is nonsense. What’s still missing in N8:
* No Flash support in the web browser
* No true multitasking for all applications
* Symbian ^3 OS for N8 has limited new feature set
* Poor performance on N8
* No quick toggles for Wi-Fi, Bluetooth or 3G
* No social networking integration
* No info widgets on lockscreen or homescreen
* SMS tones are still not customizable
* No mass mark emails as read
* No proper file browser or access to the file system
* Bad USB mass storage mode
* Bad vibration feedback when touching the screen
* No Bluetooth file transfers to other mobile phones
* Contacts lack a swipe-to-delete or mass delete feature
* No SMS/MMS delivery notifications
* No smart dialing (but Spotlight is a somewhat of a substitute)
* No DivX or XviD video support and no official third-party application to play that
* The whole N8 is too dependent on Ovi Suite - you cannot add the same type of content (video, photos, apps) to the phone from two computers, a regular file management interface would have been much better.
Before Using N8 I Was A Big Fan And Heavy High End User Of Nokia.
Now I Am Converted To Samsung.
Christmas specials should be around that. I am prepared to pay 400Euro for it. I will wait until it drops to that.

Rajawali, 29 Aug 2010Well i don't think so. I've Nokia N82 for 3 years this November, till now there is no scratch.... moreback read kiddo.. N8 can be reset w/o removing the battery.. just simply hold the power button for 8 sec. like on laptops and walla!! N8 resets!!
hear what you are saying(sort of,not very tech orientated at the sharp end) but I still think 8 months or so is a long time to update an OS.I’d expect something built up from scratch in those timeframes.I aint hatin tho,I will be purchasing this phone when it comes out and expect to be very pleased with it!
Really really wish it would have had videolight tho,alas!
@Josh
Several UK companies are now taking pre-orders on-line, including Play.com, Expansys, Handtec, and Clove Technologies, to name but three… and of course MobileFun, whom you mentioned.
I am still hoping that Nokia will (eventually!) offer it for a slightly lower figure on the UK website, as the ‘best offer’ I have seen up to now is £410.
