Been waiting for ever it appears to be...not bothered IF a release date was set but more Pi$$ed off than ever as a date was set then delayed then moved forward and delayed again time after time! WTF!!! It shows that Nokia can't decide what they wanna do! I've been a Nokia lover from day one and starting to loose my patience with them! Not like if other manufactures are any worse off in designing phones with likes of Android etc! I've always been a Nokia fan having handsets like Carbon Arte, N series etc but now using a BB Bold 9700 and WAITING to buy a spare handset but looks like I'm turning to IPHONE 4, despite I've been BASHING IPhone with their signal problem...at the end of the day it's released!!!! With the N8 so HYPED up, it'll end up like the Iphone NOT getting one till x'mas that's IF they have released it by THEN!!! NOT a happy Nokia fan anymore!

I love the phone and will def be getting one but even me a long time nokia lover is getting pi55ed with nokia over the waiting with NO update from NOKIA to there potential customers, while samsung, htc etc lovers dont have to wait and phone's are popping out all over the place. I wouldn't mind waiting if they at least said what date to wait for. I love Nokia and this phone but dont feel loved by nokia.
I think N9 will have a 8mp cam ! Leaked pics of N9 shows led flash on itz back! I will go with N8 ! ;)

john, 23 Aug 2010the 8 mp camera was for the old n9 which is gonna turn to be a c series phone or e seriesThat's the problem. "Old N9" and all that, we don't know nothing for certain until Nokia announces it.
Why can't people just wait for that instead of guessing and speculating :D

hey guys there are new spcifications leaked about the n9
it s a meego device with 1 gb of system storage and 64 gb of internal memory and 1Ghz of snapdragon CPU and 720 p hd recording (not sure about the camera but i think it s the same as nokia n8) and at last a 4 in screen
Abhinav, 23 Aug 2010I thik hanging problem will be there with these specifications..I didn't really experience any. The Symbian^3 is pretty light, so high specs aren't really needed to run it. It also fully supports GPU acceleration, which takes ALOT of strain off the CPU. After boot there's around 128mb of RAM free (compared to like what.. 30mb the N97 had after boot, which was blamed for alot of hanging etc), which probably isn't the exact truth either cos of the paging system thingie.
Also, the Symbian^3 pretty much only shares the looks with the earlier Symbians, don't judge this product cos of the older Symbians. Just like Vista was pretty crap, Win7 is godlike.
Abhinav, 23 Aug 2010I thik hanging problem will be there with these specifications..i can see where your coming from but you thinking something isnt black and white fact. I think i phones suck but customers think other wise
Anonymous, 23 Aug 2010Thats the difference between Nokia and other companies like Apple and Samsung.dont no how you come up with that conclusion its quiet hard to speak for something that isnt out yet. and nokia as a phone company are worth more than samsung so i think most people dont agree with you but you are intitle to your opinion
nick, 23 Aug 2010number one failure, marketing.
people are talking about the slower proccessor on paper and ... moreYes, they should also put in a 10" screen, just so people are like "WOW NUBMERS ILL BUY THAT".
Ok, you obviously don't like this device for several reasons, but that already sounds like you just dig up whatever to bash this phone.
If you are not interested in the device, why do you have to keep coming here and commenting?
As for numbers, it's weird how this phone is having nearly couple of times more hits here on gsmarena than several already released 1Ghz phones out there, if the marketing and all that has failed so hard.
it seems specifications of this device are underpar to the existing mobile industry.if i tempted to buy now o will end up selling this with no time.
nick, 23 Aug 2010number one failure, marketing. people are talking about the slower proccessor on paper and ... moremaybe but it will also waste the battery and possibly make it slower its ok with wot its got. if people dont want it then dont buy it. im aware what features and tech its got thats why me and plenty of others want it

people are talking about the slower proccessor on paper and it's going to turn people off. why not put a 1ghz proccessor in it? people would buy it for that alone
if nokia had just put in a decent sounding proccessor, the phone would sell better from the off
Wheez, 23 Aug 2010Acceptable condition = a condition THEY are satisfied with, cos if you ask me, it's more than ... moreI think it's a case of Nokia being a bit gunshy based upon some of their previous releases and the stinging criticism that some of those devices should not have been released in their current state.
This may not be their Flagship Device, but Nokia still has alot riding on this puppy.
As a consumer who has had his eye on this unit, It doesn't bother me to wait a bit longer. I'm pretty patient.
Plus it gives me more time to save up the small fortune this will cost if I ultimately decide to jump on it....LOL
