On an unrelated note, I have used nokias almost all my life and I believe they make very good handsets. But if you have an x6, then my sympathies rest with you. Hope N8 is released soon to cure your woes.

Good News For Nokia Users,
Nokia Has Planned To Release N9 Before Christmas To Capture Market.
So If You Are Planning To Purchase N Series Phones, So Please Wait For Two Months.
Because N9 Is Much Much Better Than N8.
When N9 Is Released By That N8 Resale Will Fall Up To Fifty Percent.
So Please Think Carefully Before Purchasing N8.
Thank You In Advance.
AMANITA, 21 Aug 2010Not led but it has a red video light ! :)The red color light is not for video rite?
It is Auto Focus assist light rite?
Afaik, there is no video light for N8.
But is ok. Because N8 still great in all.
I just pre-ordered mine! If you like Nokia, get it!
can some one tell me if the video light is as bright as the ones one the nokia n86
Stefanos Gatdoulos, 21 Aug 2010It has only 256MB of RAM. Most new smart phones like the iPhone 4, Droid, and Evo have 512MB ... moreWith paging feature I don't think the RAM will be an issue anymore
you can allocate internal storage space to be used as virtual memory (much like Windows but faster due to hardware differences)
AMANITA, 21 Aug 2010N9 will have 8mp cam with dual led flash !no amanita the new n9 (that looks like the macbook mini pro) is gonna pack a 12mp and the old named n9 is gonna have an 8 mp which is gonna turn to be a nokia n8-01 or in the c series. u can read this on google if u dont believe me
Stefanos Gatdoulos, 21 Aug 2010It has only 256MB of RAM. Most new smart phones like the iPhone 4, Droid, and Evo have 512MB ... moreThe symbian is also alot lighter to run than iOS or Android. After boot the N8 has like 128mb RAM left, which is more than enough to multitask 15+ applications (real multitasking, not fake multitasking like iphone).
So far no one has been reporting about the prototypes running out of RAM.
Remember, the higher the specs, the bigger the batter consumption, something that isn't really optimal to have in a mobile phone. EVO 4G is a good example of this.
It has only 256MB of RAM. Most new smart phones like the iPhone 4, Droid, and Evo have 512MB of RAM (twice as much). However, the camera specs are sweet with the N8. I'd wait until a smartphone has at least 512MB with 12MP camera, then it will satify all the app-hungry, photoshooters out there.
Guys the new nokia n9 is better than n8 whoo waited all these months can wait two more months, it has a 12 mp camera better cpu at least 800 mhz and for sure the new os meego with better features than n8. what do u guys think about that?
Hey y'all .
A lot of people are commenting that Nokia is outdated and the Symbian OS is old , laggy , sluggish and what not .And further more that the processor for this very specific phone is a mere '680 mhz'.
What you need to understand is that the symbian OS is all about functionality and no nonsense features . True, Symbian doesn't offer eye candy and a fluid UI experience but all that is slowly changing with the introduction of Symbian ^ 3 . Meego will take the game to the next level and with it's arival the likes of IOS and Android will be playing the catch up game.
The N8 will be a evolutionary device from XM series and N series combined providing a next level experience in terms of Symbian. Now as far as the '680mhz'slow processor is concerned people need to understand that the Symbian OS is very much optimized to provide the best experience without much horse power . E.g The 5233 touch has a mere 400ish mhz processor but never lags or holds up even with multiple apps running.
The battery life is incredible if you compare it to the iphone or the latest androids, which don't last you a day even with proper task killers .
The N8 features the best GPU on the market which will undeniably provide the best gaming/graphical experience .
I agree the Symbian UI is a bit 'sluggish' and not as fluid as for example The Iphone, but it gets the job done .
As far as the nHD resolution is concerned i'd say that you guys need to realize the facts . The Iphone 3gs had a HVGA resolution but was considered one of the best screens on the market then even when Nokia was producing nHD and WVGA (N900). Need i say more ?
