:) I had little chat with Nokia provider here in Jordan, He confirmed me that Nokia Promised that the device will be available between the End of August and 14 of September :P
finally wew cant wait
i agree, the N8 is priced as a high end, when in fact its a mid range...
we all used to forgive lots of shortcoming in the N8, due to the low price range, but this kinda changes that..
at any rate, for me its not worth buying a symbian atm, i used to love the OS and still do, especially functionality
but, i will have to wait atleast a year till developers starts using QT and produce some real apps, and if it failed, then maybe meego? same issue
as for the coming few months, i think android will do, change is alwayz good, my heart will be at symbian/nokia/meego, but i need something fun to play with atm..
waiting for a gsm summsung epic, so far its the only mobile worth it i guess.
In my view HTC is too good a co with many best seller mobiles to its credit. Nokia had become too lazy and hence left far behind. They even sacked their ceo. Nokia is pricing N8 high to the levels of galaxy s, iphones etc so that people may not think it is a 'cheap' phone. just think people. You wont buy a costly mobile to get 12 mpixel cam or to get a port so that we can connect usb drive. General Users are satisfied with 5 mpix cam. general user is satisfied by micro sd card. otg is another gimmick. I see another failure in N8.

It's clear Nokia N8 is another flop like N97, N97 Mini and X6. 12 mp camera is a gimmick. Where is more RAM, Processor Speed, Battery Capacity and Screen Resolution? Please Nokia go and learn form Samsung, HTC and Acer how to make a high end phone, dont try to push mid range phone with some gimmicks as a high end phone with premium price. Go back in your old beautiful days and make 3100, 6610, 6300 and 6270 etc. In my opinion now Samsung and HTC are the best. I feel very sorry and it is a sad moment also for me as I disconnect from Nokia after long 6 years. Any way, now I want to switch to Samsung Wave S8500 to wash out my old dis-satisfactions.
Too costly.we can get similar specification in other company mobiles at lesser price.I WILL WATE 2 OR 3 MONTHS......
robert, 10 Aug 2010For all yah funs, any idea of how much N8 will cost coz i cant interpret the price group? i m... more350-400$

I have an idea! HTC and Apple should switch to Symbian 3 and later update to Symbian 4. They can save money on those 1.5 ghz cpus that they need to run
looking forward to buy this phone!! so hurry up Nokia

You will not need to remove the battery, nor let it completely run out in order to reset the N8 in the unlikely event that it freezes. But...in the rare case that it might freeze, all you do is simply hold the power key for 8 seconds to reset the N8.
S^3 developers have stated that this will not be a problem with the N8, but I guess we'll see.
TC, 09 Aug 2010Symbian is a very buggy OS, "if it is really an OS", and it is definetly not a matur... moreWhile I dont agree with the rest of your post, you have made one extremely good point; the problem of restarting your phone after it crashes. I have been using the 5800 since it came out, and while it doesnt happen too often (and is happening less and less as new firmware updates come out), my 5800 does crash/freeze every couple of weeks. The only way to fix this on those occasions is to remove the battery. The fact that the N8 doesnt have a removable battery, and how this relates to the phone crashing is something I never considered before, and definitely makes me think twice about buying this phone. If the N8 does crash/freeze, the only thing you would be able to do is wait for your battery to run out, which is unacceptable(how phone calls and messages would be missed in that time?).
Fierce fight! Nokia N8, HTC Desire, Motorola Droid X and Samsung Galaxy! http://ow.ly/18vamJ
