It has something to do with the frequency of the electricity network. (50Hz Europe vs. 60 in the States) Nokia previously went for the American standard of 30fps but the American market has dropped a lot. Now they are concentrating on the European, hence 25fps. Don't worry. You won't see a difference though. Nokia should have never bothered with the American shit. Now you can play the video without any conversions on any PAL system. How nice :-)

Hi All, The Nokia N8 is available since yesterday evening pre-order on the Nokia Store Italian. It is priced at 469 € and according to the card, the Nokia N8 will be available in Italy at the end of September

This thing would have been amazing if it only had a 480x800 screen resolution, a larger battery (probably a 1500 mAh like most high-end devices) and something else that wasn't symbian related... android would've been nice! Too bad for nokia!

With preorders around the web at 470€, does this phone look like to be "mid range" and not competiting "better-in-specs" phones?
Don't try about N9 rumormill, since N8 has still no release or availability date so it will be Nokia's flagship for at least a few months if not year 2010
once it will be released.
And imo, excepted phone companies engineers, noone knows prices or price influcences of components.
And to the person who was saying that this phone will be blazing faster than others, well hopefully mate since it will be so late, it'd better be for Nokia

Well, APPARENTLY, the N8 has the 2727 Broadcom GPU, which basically means it will destroy anything out there, and then some.

I have said this very thing in this thread months ago. Now there is proof.
The N8 will kick the living daylight out of ANY other phone in multimedia. Yes, even the hummingbird.

I hate it when people complain about this phone. Don't you people realise that this is only a mid-range phone? It was not made to be the very "best" device available. The purpose of the N8 is to regain Nokia's image and attract new customers. Just like S^3 OS, the Nokia N8 is a stepping stone for even greater future phones. And since it is not even out on sale yet, how can you people judge its performance? You all are just looking at its spec sheet and judging its speed by a few words and numbers. Nokia is NOT making a lot of profit with the N8...adding a faster processor,higher-res screen,larger battery ETC... will sky-rocket the price, making it a direct rival to the iphone 4, Galaxy S and so on,which will have a negative effect on sales. No other phone is such good quality and as feature pakced as this, for such a low-price. I will rather wait a abit longer for something more High-end, as phone is going to be very common.
