Mobile phone maker Nokia Corporation has launched a search to replace current chief executive Olli-Pekka Kallasvuo, who has been struggling to mark a place for the company in high-end smartphone market, says a media report. Attributing to people familiar with the situation, the Wall Street
Journal reported that Nokia has launched a search for a new chief executive.
The move comes as Kallasvuo struggles to find traction for the company in the market for high-end smartphones.

"They are serious about making a change...Nokia board members are supposed to make a decision by the end of the month," the report quoted one person familiar with the matter as saying.

While Nokia continues to sell more cellphones than any other manufacturer with 40 per cent market share, it has failed to keep up with advances by rivals such as Apple Inc, the report noted.
According to the publication, Nokia US-based spokesperson Laurie Armstrong said the company would not comment on speculation.
The CEO of one major US high-tech company had spurned Nokia's approach after meeting with Chairman Jorma Ollila, because that candidate had not been keen on moving to Finland, the report said.
Nokia had also flown in at least one other US-based executive to interview for the job, it added.
Kallasvuo has held the CEO job since 2006, the year before Apple introduced the iPhone and roiled the market for mobile phones. The company has stumbled several times in its efforts to catch up.
The company is scheduled to report earnings on Thursday.

nokia has dual sim phones check the c1 and c2 series as for the n8 there is no dual sim but still I will get one the moment its out.rock on nokia n8 is the begining of the best

a new ceo will replace Olli-Peka. anyways, olli-peka uses an e71 which is the best smartphone so far.

october for release date is too late. This phone had to be released before the summer. Samsung will bring super amoled 12 MP camera phones. C'mon nokia I have never used another brand and I don't want to use from now on.

this phone has two faults
1- battery not easily swapable
2- no stereo speakers

I think this is the benchmark for mobile phones especially the HDMI interface input its gonna give the rivals a lot of homework. Everything about this handset has been put the max from the 12MP cameara, to the 16GB internal memory not to mention the expandable 32GB card slot. If ever you want a phone to keep for a long time i recommend this phone as you wont get rid of it for years if you take good care of it.
I take my hat off to Nokia on such a beautiful creation and i hope there is more to come.

all other mobile owners r jelous of nokia n8 specs & comment coz of their wrong decision.

YJ, 20 Jul 20106500 include all theme, wallpaper.. Or apps only. This number i listen in March. Now July but ... more6500 for apps only. Read what I written or read Nokia quarter results. No one know how many applications are there now but they will be declared now during this results next week.

Sergio de Ushuaia, 20 Jul 2010I Hope, the Nokia N8 doesnt`t dissapoint its owners as N97 did. The Lens`s cover scratch the l... morecorrect, i agree with u. same thing happen to me with this crazy n97,very poor video,it hang during operation,sometimes it requires u to remove the battery to put it off.
