GsmArena -FR- reader, 13 Jul 2010Hi everyone, i was going to wait for its release, but i think as some people around, that re... moreIf you knew half as much about mobile phones as you knew about spec sheets you would know that a mobile is more than just the sum of its specs.
Anonymous, 13 Jul 2010Ya the baby pic is amazing! Here is a video showing that the N8 can play MKV video... usin... morethat's right it's a real monster!!by the way you can see from the video that there's 176mb free memory on the C drive,so many people on this forum had said it was coming with 135mb.cheers
i was going to wait for its release, but i think
as some people around, that releasing late such
a phone is a bad strategy or a marketing error.
I see expected for October on gsmarena despite
somes are claiming it for next month...
I can wait a month for such a phone but not 3/4.
Let's be realistic, it will be the best for
shooting photos and maybe movies, but in other
areas, it will be really outdated or old gen.
There's a trend of "zippy" phones around, i'm
not fan about (cr)Apple, but seeing that other brands
are setting new standards like 512MB ram with 1ghz
cpu CURRENTLY to make the phones feel very fast and
smooth.. I'm not even talking about specs
for phones later this year.. The n8 won't be such
a premium choice as it could be right now. Windows
Phone 7 and its sets will also be coming around that
time so my guess, if they don't want to let their
phones taking dust in wareheouses, they should
either release it as early as possible, or even
beef its specs a bit. And off course, N8 will cost
an arm once released without contract..
So many points to make you think twice or more before
choosing it if it's really coming around october.
i think if nokia incrase n8 quality it will be one of the best in the 4Q 2010 in the world . what about you
Ya the baby pic is amazing!
Here is a video showing that the N8 can play MKV video... using the USB OTG on top of that. In terms of functionality this phone is a true monster
Well some delays to get out a good product are acceptable. Otherwise we might have a situation like the iphone 4 with a lot of egg on the face.
Anonymous, 13 Jul 2010Hello Nokia, Samsung Wave have already reach 1 million mark. Plus together with HTC and Iphone... moreI think is indeed true that Nokia are too slow in releasing this phone...it will cost them BOMB as many people will end up throw their money for other brand...they should b more flexible when notice iphone or other brand are shooting out new model, is time for u to release this damn phone :(
Anonymous, 13 Jul 2010Taken with N8.
Great clarity image!
Thanks for posting :)
Anand, 13 Jul 2010Hey guys,

This is a monster device pack with all the goodies.
Symbian is great OS.
You are wrong about no one care.
Cause i and many really care. :)
have you all noted that this phone is got more popular than iPhone 4 here? Surprising as many people hate Symbian and nobody cares for Nokia as long as they come up with some good OS!
Sumit Saini, 13 Jul 2010hi plz sm1 tell d difference between capacitive and resistive screen. which one is better.Depends on your use. Resistive screens are less sensitive to finger touch but good thing is you can use a phone with resistive screen using any object or while wearing gloves. (It works based on resistance produced by object to be specific). Capacitive screens are highly sensitive to finger touch and that allows manufacturers to create multi-touch phones(all capacitive are not muti-touch). On the downside you can't use it with stylus or gloves. Capacitive displays are more popular among smartphones but costs more than resistive. If you buy any cheap smartphone then they will be having resistant display.
Sumit Saini, 13 Jul 2010hi plz sm1 tell d difference between capacitive and resistive screen. which one is better. They're almost uncomparable because of the different technology used. A general statement about them can be given though, Capacitative screens are more responsive and Resistive are more accurate. However, with Nokia's new touchscreen phones, that issue on accuracy with Capacitative screens have been eliminated (at least with their latest one, the X6).
Anonymous, 13 Jul 2010Err.. base on my limited knowledge. I think capacitive touch screen is more sensitive. But yo... moreNokia capacitive stylus SU-36 will work on all capacitive touch devices.. It will also ship with N8 in some countries (china confirm). Btw you can purchase SU-36 from Nokia flagship store..
Anonymous, 13 Jul 2010Nokia N8 due for release 31st August 2010 (from Play.com)
http://www.play.com/Mobiles/Mobil... moreIs pre-order price usually more expensive than retail price?
I am ok with the pre-order price but just hope it can be cheaper since i might get two. One for my brother and one for myself.
Sumit Saini, 13 Jul 2010hi plz sm1 tell d difference between capacitive and resistive screen. which one is better.Err.. base on my limited knowledge.
I think capacitive touch screen is more sensitive. But you cannot use stylus or finger nail on it.
Resistive touch screen accept any kind of touch... finger, stylus, finger nail...etc. But not as sensitive/responsive as capacitive touch screen.
Well i think you should hear from people who are more expert in this area or go for wiki.
