Ipod tries to produce more accurate & digitised sound and output turns out to be colder than several other mp3 players. My old Philips mp3 player produces gr8 sound on all frequencies compared to Ipod.
But Apple surpases every other music palyer in the field of UI & ease of use.
kire403, 12 Jul 2010this phone sounds excellent and nice features in one package... wish they will release the pho... moreHi Kire. I'm from Singapore and I happened to ask the Nokia staff on Sunday, and they said that the N8 is indeed slated for release in August. He couldn't give me the specific date though. I suppose if a European product is released in Asia in August, for example, it is likely that the said product should be released either earlier in Europe, or at the same time, just like Samsung phones are released generally in Asia first followed by the rest of the world. Hope this helps!
It's not technology. It's what you do with it.

Anti, 12 Jul 2010If you want good quality sound choose an Ipod, Os symbian doesn't compare with android neither... moreare you sure? the last time i checked the mall to buy dedicated mp3 player, i end up buying zune hd which is the same price as ipod touch 16 gb, i tested the ipod line of mp3 player and none of them seems good in my ears (too digitalized and cold) and i'm using HD in-ear headphone from phillips. Compared to ipod, zune hd has a cleaner output and my N81 has fuller and warmer output thru headphone (loudness algorithm option). i'm expecting N8 to do the excel my previous n81. anyway i just don't buy things based on the trend. i tested gadgets alot and read reviews, if ipod had delivered my expectation for music output i would have bought it.
this phone sounds excellent and nice features in one package... wish they will release the phone as early as August 2010
Anti, 12 Jul 2010If you want good quality sound choose an Ipod, Os symbian doesn't compare with android neither... moreSorry, Ipod does not give you the best quality sound.
Creative Xen-Fi is way better than Ipod.
Nokia N8 can give you great quality audio too. The dolby thingy remember?
Anonymous, 11 Jul 2010if you really want to have a top notch multimedia device, best audio playback quality ear phon... moreI do not see any UI deal breaking problem with N8 when comparing iOS. What is so special in iOS?
Probably iOS is more polished from multi-touch perspective as Apple had more time to tune it, but give me a few specific examples how it is better. I reasonably expect improvements with N8 updates as Nokia will receive user feedback.
UI layout wise every design will be somewhat different as every designer has their own ides. We cannot expect it to be a copycat of iOS.

Just off topic ,,on gsm arena blog (top right on home page) you tube now has 4k resolution support..It does say you require an ultra fast connection to play it,,ive tried at different points thruout the day with NO luck my connection wont play it..
The Nokia n8 is going to be a breakthrough in the smartphone world...12mp camera, supports portable storage device, very good price, 16gb internal memory and supports extra 32gb, 5 colours to choose from, bluetooth v3.0, secondary camera, geotagging, smile detection, hd video quality, xenon flash, HDMI, pick your service provider unlike at&t and t mobile which you'll have to pay for a contract, very good design...This will be the best of summer 2010.
Actually there are 3 phones I am looking at: N8, Desire or Galaxy S
I want to get this phone..
Jeremy, 11 Jul 2010i don't now if i must go for the HTC Desire or the Nokia n8 the desire is realy fast and bigge... moreif you really want to have a top notch multimedia device, best audio playback quality ear phone or speaker (ddp 5.1), best camphone and with average internet browsing experience w/ flash, N8 is the best choice and also if u are in a tight budget.
but if you want good apps/games/market, excellent UI experience and just most of the time fiddling with the phone, Iphone 4 or HTC desire is a good choice.
i'm also in the same situation with u, i'm split between desire and N8, since i came from nokia music series phones, music playback thru headphone is a must for me but i'm already introduced myself to eclair (samsung spica) which i plan to upgrade to htc desire b4 end of july. the UI experince is XCLENT/fresh/new and if u dont want an iOS.
