My battery is ok minding the fact i talk very much, i still get 24 hours, more or less. plus that i surf one hour per day in internet and also play with it. So thanks for advice but i'm ok:). I'm from Germany, by the way:).

If I am at home, I will charge at 10%. If I am outside, I will put to power saving mode if I will reach my home within 30 minutes. I will put to offline + power saving if I take 31 minutes to 45 minutes to reach home.
I will switch off completely if I take more than 45 minutes to reach home.
The above situation has not come for me yet.
If you are in India, go to ebay.in and you type NOKIA BATTERY BL-4D in the search box and choose the category as MOBILE ACCESSORIES. Then search. Click on BUY NOW to display the batteries for sale (not auction) and sort the order to 'price + shipping (lowest first)'.
Buy ERD battery. It is cheap and of good quality.
I use original Nokia DC-16 external battery pack in case of emergency.

You did the things i've said or, has just become better with every charge? My battery always lasts one day, not more, cause i talk to much. Some times i talk even 6 hours continually, just with 2 minutes stop or something like that. But when i use it normally it takes me through 3 days without problems. Now i'm a bit worried that my battery will die quicker because of the stress i put on it. But that's it, it is made to talk, so i use it to talk:)). My point was that i think it can get to through 1 day and a half (maybe even more) if you use it without thinking that battery will drain, just use it normally and don't think about it. You may be notice that your battery is satisfactory:).

this is not a phone. its a pc. when i connect it to hdmi and i plaY hd games on it. it makes me feel that i am driving a real car. this phone is a cute and a small baby smart phone. because i am also having galaxy s3. it makes me feel that this is a baby smartphone. cute. this phone was released on 2010 and still it is hitting the markets. superb. luv ds phone. camera is really good. its battery backup is like feeding a baby after every minute. but no problem. who cares about battery backup. this phone is really good. i luv this phone.

I also faced worst battery standby time when I bought the phone. Now it is ok. I am getting 2.25 days (2 days and 6 hours) of standby time under rare usage (55% display brightness, no background application (only mobi cop and BEST PROFILES running, 15 min of WiFi browsing, 30 minutes of voice call, 40 minuted of just browsing the phone's features).
I last charged the battery on 02nd Dec 2012 at 02:47 PM. Then I put to charge at 08:47 PM. All times mentioned here are INDIAN STANDARD TIME.

We've seen Nokia smartphones tethered to various lenses in the past, but in this case an N8 has been coupled with a opthalmoscope to produce a prototype 'Eye-Phone' that can help diagnose sight problems early in areas of the world where it's tricky to site traditional, bulky and expensive eye exam equipment. Try to keep the power button more then 10 seconds pressed, see if it vibrates 3 times. Keep it down until you feel this vibrates. If you don't feel nothing, plug it in the charger and leave it there more then 10 minutes, if still nothing comes to life, then leave it for an hour like this without touching it and do one more try. If all of this are unsuccesful, then it is time to take it to nokia care... If you have such a thing where you leave.

ben, 03 Dec 2012evry tym i lock my nokia n8 the flash light turns on(red) what could be the problemIt may be a hardware mallfunction. It also can be a software problem but is unlikely. You will need to take it to repair cause i don't think you will solve this problem by reinstalling the software. You can try it though, if you feel like and have the tme to do it...

See which runs in backgroung. If you have whatsup, that eats allot of battery, also there are some self updating widgets that eat battery you can delete them from homescreen. It is better to use icons instead of widgets on your home screen. Also, download a powerful task manager and see what processes are opened. Most 3rd party processes can be saftely killed. (i like: Best taks manager, it is treaky to use at first, but after learning, will be your best tool). After this, do some research on how you should take care of you li-ion battery. You can find here some things, and also on google, allot of things.

Talk time Up to 12 h (2G) / Up to 5 h 50 min (3G)
Music play Up to 50 h
The 808 has a Standard battery, Li-Ion 1400 mAh (BV-4D)
Stand-by Up to 465 h (2G) / Up to 540 h (3G)
Talk time Up to 11 h (2G) / Up to 6 h 50 min (3G)
So if you really need to change go for the 808 battery
