[deleted post]Honestly, i can't but agree. Its so narrow, its better off as a stylus than a phone lol. The design of the buttons upfront don't help at all. I really don't get why a lot of people seem to love it. I could never use such an ugly device. Its even uglier than the nokia 5800.

Will you be able to change the Symbian ^3 OS to the Meego OS, or Maemo 5? Will you be able to clock the processor to above 1GHz like the N900? Can you upgrade the RAM or ROM?

[deleted post]Nokia sold 21.5 million smartphones in the first three months of this year. So while some areas of the market may be bleating that Nokia is on the slide it seems more mainstream users than ever are enjoying the benefits of the Symbian OS. Read on to find out why 21.5 Million Nokia fans can ’t be
      wrong.
The first quarter of any year often sees a dip in sales, largely due to everyone spending too much
in the pre-Christmas rush. However, a report from Network World suggests that Nokia beat current market trends by selling 21.5 million
smartphones in the first quarter of the year, which is up quarter-on-quarter from 20.8 million. That’s pretty amazing considering the world wide market sold a total of 55 million smartphones, so
Nokia is clearly still leading the way.
The main reason for this growth is put largely down to the growth in Nokia X Series and Nokia C
Series devices, which may not be cutting-edge devices but deliver amazing high-end features at an appealing mainstream price. This filtering down of technology from the high-end to ever more affordable handsets is a strategy that seems to be
winning Nokia fans the world over.
With Nokia moving the Nokia N Series to a MeeGo platform we can expect to see more Symbian-based devices appearing in the Nokia C Series and
      Nokia X Series ranges.

        [deleted post]Are you crazy?
"Every second person has one, must be a reason hey!"

In market share, Nokia owns 36% while Apple is not even on the top 5 list as its sales are not significant enough....
You do know that there is a world outside US right? Where Iphone is just a joke!

meego phone has multitple widgets pages, but the recnt meego demo did not show it

the most interesting part is multitouch pinch out and in to change card and grid view and flich vertically to go to the widgets homescreen

Debasis, 03 Jul 2010Major Draw back is u cannot remove the battery. if you follow the symbian blog regularly

you will know n8 battery is removable by using screwdriver, nokia does not advise you to do so, but you can take it to nokia center to replace it, within a day

The N8 display and the external display (TV SCREEN) are treated as two different displays. Clone mode copies the phone display image to the TV which limits the resolution but Nokia N8's support for Native mode means the full 720p resolution of videos is sent to the TV. So any video you take using the mighty N8 is gonna be output at 720p on TV via HDMI. ya hearrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrd!!! echo echo echo.

This is the time Nokia deserves some Credit, after the New iPhone 4 problems, just shows that Apple never tested the new phone before releasing it,just proofs that Apple because of the good name they got with the iPhone that people would buy it without them checking it,so Nokia deserve some Praise not releasing the N8 to early before the software Bugs are cleared an everything running smoothly on the N8,hope the N8 is fully ready for Full Production at Nokia,an made available on August 24th,might not dive in a get the N8 straight away like i did with the N86 as i got 3 Faulty ones in 7 days

i have looked at the meego ui for handheld

                          in the pearandbanana ui guidelines

you can multitouch in multitasking view to chnage the card view to grid view, you can access to multitasking view by tapping the home button in the top left cornner in every app you are using, you can flick vertically in multitasking view to access to multiple widgets pages! Super cool

the icons grid launcher is not the homescreen,!

The ui is made simpler for mass market!

The app for meego is so powerful , they are in different class, like firefox, vlc and skype, snes, just to name a few

                          thank for reading

Huh, this cell gets 1000 votes a day ! ! ! Nokia usually checks this site prior to the release to see how popular the phone is. The number of votes shows the popularity while the rating shows the expectation. What Nokia what to see is a very hi popularity and low expectations. So keep the this votes coming. The value is not important. The number is. Usually a phone receives half the votes before and half after its release. According to this the N8 will end up with close on 150000 votes ! ! ! A absolute popularity record which nobody can ignore. The poor ratings only show the low expectation the fans have. (the cell is not out yet) Only the votes after its release will count towards customer satisfaction. For a small fee you can get the votes broken down into different criterias. Either way, I must admit, the N8 is the most popular phone we had in here.

gOod thing that Nokia is not yet releasing the phone so that means they're making sure that the phone will work fine unlike the other phone that's so expensive with only a 5 MP camera that's so old and a problem with the antenna.
