I have the n900 which is amazingly powerful compared to all phones on the market but is let down heavily by the lack of apps n support that nokia put into there aftersales n ovistore for my maemo os...
A friend has n97 which is symbian os and finds same problem with ovistore its so not keeping up with apple or androids apps stores n nokia seem not to be dragging in third party software publishing houses like apple n google have done which has made there amount of apps available well into there thousands.
Now this n8 and the n9 look better lookin than iphone n built but dont be like me and friends i now with nokia phones n buy any nokia smartphones as your be heart broken with the ovi apps store and then wish u'd tied urself into a contract with another phone n not nokia....
OVI STORE IS THE WEAK LINK TO EVERYTHING NOKIA
I so wish i could send my n900 bak ive had 6 months of nothing but disapointment and another 12months of it to come
nokia ur phones are great so take some time out n concentrate on ur rubbish app store or it wont matter how good or advanced ur phones become.....

And one thing about that IVCd guy, he is a crab. He is posting this even on Wave page. We asked him and he answered he want to vote down the Wave and thats why he is posting this comment on every pages of Gsmarena, annoying people and indirectly influecing people to vote Wave down. Just ignore him.

ram sharan from nepa, 03 Jul 2010i think battery is very small only 1200mah try to make it 1400 or 1500mah otherwise when wi-fi... moreYou can't determine how a mobile phone would last based on battery size only. Infact, battery size is no standard determinant for any two different mobiles. I have a nokia n95 8gb and my friend has the n95. My 8gb has a 1200mah battery, his has a 950mah. Both our phones last about 4 hours when downloading nonstop no wifi with the backlight on. Why? The bigger screen of the 8gb surely has a hand in it.

The nokia n8 uses an amoled display which consumes more power than most of the competitions lcd. Its relatively low (but undoubtably adequate) processor clock rate also means less power is consumed when the device is in use.

[deleted post]Honestly, i can't but agree. Its so narrow, its better off as a stylus than a phone lol. The design of the buttons upfront don't help at all. I really don't get why a lot of people seem to love it. I could never use such an ugly device. Its even uglier than the nokia 5800.

Will you be able to change the Symbian ^3 OS to the Meego OS, or Maemo 5? Will you be able to clock the processor to above 1GHz like the N900? Can you upgrade the RAM or ROM?

[deleted post]Nokia sold 21.5 million smartphones in the first three months of this year. So while some areas of the market may be bleating that Nokia is on the slide it seems more mainstream users than ever are enjoying the benefits of the Symbian OS. Read on to find out why 21.5 Million Nokia fans can ’t be
                            wrong.
The first quarter of any year often sees a dip in sales, largely due to everyone spending too much
in the pre-Christmas rush. However, a report from Network World suggests that Nokia beat current market trends by selling 21.5 million
smartphones in the first quarter of the year, which is up quarter-on-quarter from 20.8 million. That’s pretty amazing considering the world wide market sold a total of 55 million smartphones, so
Nokia is clearly still leading the way.
The main reason for this growth is put largely down to the growth in Nokia X Series and Nokia C
Series devices, which may not be cutting-edge devices but deliver amazing high-end features at an appealing mainstream price. This filtering down of technology from the high-end to ever more affordable handsets is a strategy that seems to be
winning Nokia fans the world over.
With Nokia moving the Nokia N Series to a MeeGo platform we can expect to see more Symbian-based devices appearing in the Nokia C Series and
                            Nokia X Series ranges.

In market share, Nokia owns 36% while Apple is not even on the top 5 list as its sales are not significant enough....
You do know that there is a world outside US right? Where Iphone is just a joke!

meego phone has multitple widgets pages, but the recnt meego demo did not show it

the most interesting part is multitouch pinch out and in to change card and grid view and flich vertically to go to the widgets homescreen

Debasis, 03 Jul 2010Major Draw back is u cannot remove the battery. if you follow the symbian blog regularly

you will know n8 battery is removable by using screwdriver, nokia does not advise you to do so, but you can take it to nokia center to replace it, within a day
