in many places where they sell iphones there is one big problem that isnt the case with the N8. the apps. around here when u buy the iphone, and u want to install apps u have to buy them. and if not there arent any apps in the phone at all. and with the N8 the apps are already installed. At least this is what i heard...

Look folks I don't use the Iphone am no iphone fanboy neither am I Nokia fanboy but if I was to choose between the two I'd definately choose the iphone. You will be amazed how many people out there still use old TVs without HDMI connection so to many it's is pretty much irrelevant.
The freedom to customise well, I wouldn't buy the Iphone if I wanted a customisable phone we do have a choice you know!. When I used the N97 all the apps I found interesting were only available for the iphone and a few on the Android. Gravity "twitter client" was the only app i downloaded from OVI. Iphone 4 will come with google maps, free navigation is avilable there too. I now use the HTC desire and love it to bits but again I say where hardware is concerned the only thing the N8 is better at is the Camera and that's the question I was addressing in my reply.

Not to mention all the countless useful apps that is already avalable for the symbian platform... I'll take the n8 anyday over the iphone...

Waste more money to buy a digicam+32gb mem.card+gps+fm

Anonymous, 19 Jun 2010Lets comapare CPU Iphone Apple A4 1Ghz with 3D Graphics HW accelerator N8 ARM 11 680 MHz pro... moreand and,flash lite 4.0= same as the flash 10.1 everyone's using on their computers to view any flash conent...plus plus xenon flash...AND radio(no big deal nowadays to have radio on a phone out of the box but the thing is that iphone doesn't have it!=D...dolby surround sound..and you even have to download basic apps like facebook,twitter etc on iphone while others have it preinstalled since day one...so n8 is better than iphone 4 end of story=)

meego is apparently for higher price phone with super high end features
apps annd games for meego and symbian are compatible

So what about AMOLED display, bt 3.0, hdmi out, world wide 3g support, true multitasking, free lifetime navigation solution, usb otg, micro sd support upto 32gb, video call over 3g and wifi networks, fully customisable home screens and themes support and most importantly, the freedom of not being chained to any propriatary software a.k.a itunes.

Does anyone know that Iphone isn't so famous outside the U.S.A ....in most of the countries Nokia sells MUCH better than this iphone....Nokia N8 is definitely a high-end gadget....and the battery is rly good....it's not average as most ppl think

But this particular model meets what I expect from a smartphone for my particular use and in consideration of the fact that NOKIA phones are reliable anyways. I suppose, something new will come out by the time I have N8 in 6 months time and that Nokia or other brands will move the competition a level higher leaving the specs I do like, a notch down or even lower, I still don't mind. It still to me fits to what i want. I may not be as updated with the rest in terms of taste and preferences but I have just been looking at this particular model from a reputable brand name aside from the fact that I always keep handphone changeovers to the least, keeping what i have at the least 3 years until it no longer serves its purpose base on my current needs. But thank for that though.

Ridiculous isn't it. N8 is a high end phone with mid range price pa.
