Sad that lots of people already judge the n8 performance
just to remind you that n8 has largest camera sensor which is the most important feature in phone camera
you can do so much more with symbian 3 and some little small things that ios and roid cant offer
n8 is well designed and slim, i am in love with its looks
i wont pay double the price of n8 to get the iphone 4, i can buy two n8 instead of one iphone 4

Relatively weak CPU seems to be there for a reason - rather then have a one powerful "does it all" unit N8 appears to have a more PC-style "CPU+GPU" combination, meaning all heavy graphics will be done by a discreet chip relieving CPU for other tasks.
This does largely remove any need for powerful CPU in normal usage, as performance-wise the heaviest usage on a phone is graphics rendering for various games and interfaces, and in this regard a decent GPU will literally run in circles around the best CPU you could put into the same machine. Some recent benchmarking shows N8 OpenGL2.0 rendering to crush even tablets without discreet GPU units (talking about several times better performance here) and leaving phone competition competing in a completely different weight class.
We may see some real 3D games that look better then Quake1 on this phone running at 30+FPS if GPU is worth the hype.

tthere is a great gut at www.summeli.fi
who create some great qt games emulator for n8, but is is still at beta stage, he is quite active at doing the work.
N8 has already some decent games, if you finf soemthing missing, please go to ask the developer to make qt game for n8

Cheers.point is... more fps, better video (liquid)...
I hope that in the future phones installed real frame rating with interlace support, it will just be cool...
Now is only progressive :(

But it will easily kill the iPhone 4... moreA4 running at 800 mhz, means it will get its panties shredded by the N8 even worse than the A4 @ 1ghz it was benched against.

2 : Thanks for telling me there is a new OS, I did not know of any Symbina. Is it any good, as great as S^3 even perhaps?

[deleted post]25 fps is PAL system (50hz) but... resolution for pal is 768x576 (1:1)....
HD is wide resolution and this is new standard and fps for HD is 24 or 30 for wide plasma tv's, and new standard have new refresh rates and new converters...
no matter which standard is (50 or 60 hz power)
25 fps with pal is dead soon...

30 fps is possib... morei think in europe, most of hte media systems uses 25fps..
and converting from 30fps to 25fps is not kewl(or so i heard :P)
there is a difference between 25 and 30, but u wouldnt notice it, unless u play both of them together side by side, or something :D
Hollywood movies are 24.5-25fps ,

ASTRO, 09 Jun 2010Great Phone form NOKIA, this phone will be the killer of all mobile phones including Iphone4 too!It wont be the killer for all phones, that's for sure.
But it will easily kill the iPhone 4, because first of all, 95% of the specs on the Nokia N8 is much better than the iPhone 4 specs.
The only thing the iPhone 4 is better in is the CPU and the screen resolution.
While i remember it. This might not be answered here, but i'm gonna ask it here anyways. Does anyone know how fast the A4 CPU in the iPhone 4 will run at?. I doubt that it will run at 1 GHz though.
Secondly, the price on the Nokia N8 will absolutely give value for it's money over how much you have to give for an iPhone 4.

WHY?
Its never really 30 fps. It always going up and down, so at least at 25 fps its always 25 fps. It also has to do with area, some localisations have 25 fps others 30. Movies tend to have 24. What is important is how many of those frames are dropped by a device...

It supports java 2.1 and there are many java2.1 games and applications available! Will it be able to play those games in full screen(3.5) or ll N8 need dedicated java 2.1 games n applications ?
