Pengait, 08 Jun 2010If nokia give consumer the option to upgrade ram to 512mb its sure going to sell milions of N8. symbian 3 is not hungry 4 hardware man. rethink man rethink

now mother earth is included here.,hehehe just saying my comment., not a fan of any brand., i just saw the blog., so im here to share it., i was just surprise that N8 was the last., by the way GSM arena post it.,^^
Anis, 07 Jun 2010iPhone 4 is coming on 24th June, and Nokia is still pending :@ COMONNNNNNNNNNNNokia make decent phones, but really kinda slow in catching up fashion.
Ouch..., 08 Jun 2010calculated pixel density of some of the phones, based on their diagonal and resolution and her... morelol here the fanboys come again, thinking numbers rule it all. One thing. The OS. Oh wait didn't think of that?
Well think about it. Their OS's are different. And specially since the N8's all about consuming the least power. I can just imagine the iPhone hoggin up all that battery. LOL
Then after you're all done thinking you're all right. Consider this. The battery of the N8 is 1200mAh only. All the other phones out there have 1500mAh. Nokia's all about saving the earth.
ofcours the price should be low as the specs are not that great like the OS.,^^ but the camera is the only one thats have the edge huh.. nice camera..^^
N8 is not nokias flagship huh… lets see if they released their flagship this year..^^ by the way Samsung Jet as well as the Galaxy is not Samsungs flagship., their flagship is the upcoming Samsung Galaxy Tablet.,^^ ooohhhllala..^^ catch up Nokia., u can do it., I still believe in nokia..(duh) catch up…^^
Ouch..., 08 Jun 2010calculated pixel density of some of the phones, based on their diagonal and resolution and her... moreYes it does.
But remember, all those devices are flagship devices that must come with no less the best.
N8 is a significant product but was never the flagship model.
Where ever it might hurt (your ears listening to fanboys' rants) it wont hurt your wallet.
Rajesh, 07 Jun 2010Thanks for your explaination. But there is a problem which I need a solution from you. The exa... moreHi Rajesh.
When I cited the P4 as an example, I was not making a direct correlation between desktop CPUs and mobile processors. I was merely (as I did state there) generalizing the cost behind using a very high clock speed CPU in any device be it desktops, portables or mobiles. When you stuff a big, power hungry processor, there are other considerations like the design of the (PC or mobile) to account for increased power requirement.
In the case of the N8, since the under-clocked speed of 680 Mhtz was deemed enough by the manufacturer to run all required task within the context of available power, there is no reason to resort to a 1Ghtz CPU just for the sake of it. That will ultimately only serve to add to the final cost of production.
I would welcome more technological discussions with you, that's what these forums are for right. I did to in the PC manufacturing industry before (perhaps that's why I'm so hung up on the hidden costs of CPU than the CPU itself :)) with Dell but I have since changed over to advertising.
calculated pixel density of some of the phones, based on their diagonal and resolution and here are their rank.
Apple iPhone 4: 326 ppi
LG KM900 Arena: 311 ppi
Samsung S8000 Jet: 301 ppi
HTC Touch Diamond: 286 ppi
Samsung S8500 Wave: 283 ppi
HTC Desire: 252 ppi
Google Nexus One: 252 ppi
Sony Ericsson XPERIA X10: 245 ppi
Samsung I9000 Galaxy S: 233 ppi

ahh. Arm 1176 goodness. Now you are talking. .65nm of soc supporting lpddr2, o.3mwh. Excellent. This chip is highly optimized for guesse what? ...3D graphics. Hmm hmm
iphone 4 will pose a tough competition for this.
it still built on old hardwares and is late too.
Anonymous, 08 Jun 2010i understand that the os makes a huge difference. a general analogy would be putting a great r... morewell hopefully the final firmware version of the phone or a sooner update would use the 780Mhz the ARM1176 processor has. for some dumb reason Nokia declocks the phone's processor upon release, like the 5800 @ only 300+mhz and after the v21 update they put it to the proper 434Mhz of the ARM1136.
Well I disagree with that., you want a camera then buy Panasonic DMC-FX70 or Samsung NX5 or Sony Alpha 290 DSLR., not so good OS of this phone., which it has high OS and RAM then this will be a real monster phone like Samsung Galaxy S
hi....why the ram is like old one 256?first n8 has amoled display, second of its os like symbian^3,third 3d graphics accelar.these things need no too much power and ram....one thing these things save ur money too.....why spend 700 to 1000 usd?why not 400 to 500 usd ?
BRAND NAME, 08 Jun 2010Ooowww an what do have here., another monster phone from not so famous brand HTC..
http://b... moreThe reason it is famous are because it has the best camera compared to all HTC phone.
It also is the first device to run on Symbian^3.
The over all build is using great material that u cannot find on any of HTC phone.
The look (design) also not bad :)
Yea.. partly is because it is from Nokia.
Because Nokia provide the best customer support after sales. :)
Anonymous, 08 Jun 2010i understand that the os makes a huge difference. a general analogy would be putting a great r... moreyes u r right but remember ''money talks''.if n8 has those config. then the price must be in 700 to 900usd.check the price some device which one has that kinda config.nice to meet u sir.the world market is falling and think about cheaper device but with high end ..........good luck
