The touch pen can be used to reset the device without opening the battery cover...The mobiles are provided the slots where the reset button is hidden. Could be possible that N8 comes with the same idea where you do not have to open it up.
Some new pictures of N8. Screen looks quite bright.
I'm not so comfortable with the battery cover that needs to be screwed.I hope there is a forceful shutdown in case of a freeze so the only thing that will make me open it, is if the battery is bad. The battery is expected to last for 3years at least, I can live with that.
Mark, 05 Jun 2010Hi Sir, Thanks for your polite post, I think the N97 is one of Nokia's worst devices ever. ... moreAlthough i think i will stay with my HTC Desire, i think the N8 would still be a good device. I myself prefer Android but i will tell my sister who is looking for an upgrade from her N78 about this device. i am not sure if she like the other features but i am sure she will like the camera as she likes taking photos but does not have a good camera like i do. may i ask, how is the sensitivity of the touchscreen, how fast is the web browsing n does this phone lag like most of the other symbian devices do? example: n97, n78, n79, x6, 5800 xm, n many more.
Various, 05 Jun 2010In the Same price Nokia could easily make N8 with just 8 mp camera instead of 12 mp, 1500 mAh ... moreActually, the ARM 11 in the N8 is underclocked, and can most likely be sped up to 1Ghz. Via firmware, for free. You can keep the 12 mpx camera and xenon flash.
me, 05 Jun 2010Sir, have you ever had your hands on an Android device before? well, i was using n97. Symbian ... moreHi Sir,
Thanks for your polite post, I think the N97 is one of Nokia's worst devices ever. I agree the HTC device you have now is better. I also think the N8 is much better value for money than any android device out there now, even the best value of any phone.
So while I agree, the N97 was terrible, I think the N8 will be fantastic. Really awesome. Please check out this link for a summary of why the N8 will not be the next N97, but a fantastic device:
I would recommend anyone that is remotely interested to wait until it comes out, load it with Need for Speed Shift, then compare to any other device. Take an image, then compare to any other device. See for yourself, but I think you will be pleased.
Mark, 04 Jun 2010Hi There,
To each his own. But you are incorrect about Android versus S^3.
For example,... moreSir, have you ever had your hands on an Android device before? well, i was using n97. Symbian OS v9.4. then it started to become an a$$. lag, battery dies before one full day. media is normal but lags when u go into it. i did not complain. but i just traded it in for an Android device, HTC Desire and GOSH! it is so so good. with Qualcomm Snapdragon QSD8250 1 GHz processor, it is so smooth n fast. i did not plan to change my mobile but i got a job in a company that sells mostly Android devices. they gave me a good price so i thought, why the heck not give it a try? so i got it n it has very good looks, 50000++ apps for u to download, big ram n rom, extreme speed of web browsing, 7 home screens for you to add widgets that u like, nice bright 480 x 800 pixels, 3.7 inches screen with AMOLED 16m colours capacitive touchscreen, very awesome HTC sense UI, nice sensitive touch screen and also an optical trackpad. it also supports multi touch. 5 mega pixel camera is enough for me as i wont use it much, i have a slr cam. u said symbiam is better in sms n media player. i really dont agree with u. i think this device is much better than my old phone, the n97 because it has HTC sense UI. as for the outer look, many thinks that htc, or most Android devices win because it looks more like what an adult use. Looks more like a smartphone. even most of my friends says that.
Again sir, i am not a hater, i am just giving an opinion of what i think. i really dont want you guys to regret getting a symbian device like like me.
But i am sure the N8 would be fine too. PEACE=)
Tom-Helge, 05 Jun 2010Your still good after you have lost your warranty?.Don't troll buddy.. you already have your previous comments deleted by moderators. I advice keep quite now on.
For others, you all seems to be worried about battery if its replaceable or not, if yes then how to do so.
Answer is N8 is designed such that its battery can be removed easily. Its just locked by two small screws at bottom. Battery and design is such that it occupy minimal space between front and back panels.
Anonymous, 05 Jun 2010then it would not be a c am phone flagship of Nokia, right?Right. Then it should be a Real Nokia flagship.
In the Same price Nokia could easily make N8 with just 8 mp camera instead of 12 mp, 1500 mAh battery (since downgrading camera also provide some more space), 800 mhz processor and rest of same stuff as original N8.
You CAN CHANGE The battery By yourself. You remove the screws and the battery just slides out. Slide one in and screw it back in and you good...
You can also feedback to nokia that why dont make bigger capacity battery in the same battery size
Regarding the battery
you can go to the mugen site to shout at them that you want them to make bigger cappacitiy batter for n8 and n97 mini
mugen have already done it with n97 classic and n900
Rajesh, 05 Jun 2010I use E72 with 1500 mAh, new OS. Bought it from Nokia showroom. In 3,5G network if I only use ... moreJust get a portable charger if battery is your main concern pal.
Because any other phone might give u the similar problem and portable charger can charge any of your phone which support usb power charge.
Anonymous, 05 Jun 2010If u put these kind of usage in any other high end phone, can they last for one whole day? U ... moreI have used hundreds of phones, and yes I have used Samsung Innov8 I8510 too. I liked this phone as it was very well built. It can be called as one of the best Samsung phones. Large keypad, nice screen, bought it when it was released at USD 650.
