goron goron, 05 Jun 2010nokia N8 is not nokia next flagship.its design to fill the gap between n900 and 5800xm family.... moreno n8 its nokia next flagship but not for long time for few months probably for december untill they release the new meego flagship with new symbian os3 flagship too with high perfomance hardware probably 1 ghz snapdragon.
Various, 05 Jun 2010Right. Then it should be a Real Nokia flagship.nokia N8 is not nokia next flagship.its design to fill the gap between n900 and 5800xm family.
thats why they planning to sell it for 370+tax.
if u want to compare this phone fairly, then compare it with other phone in the same price tag.like samsung wave.
im planning to buy it,but if it sell for 450++ i will stay with my old gadget.
dont forget no android comes with TV-out yet,and it is very rare to find one with radio and front cam for video call.and usb OTG,capacitive screen but able to do the handwriting.some N8 ability is very rare among the smartphone and the price still feel right if under $450
designers seems to be deeply thought about colouring patterns on N8. here is one interesting article appeared on official nokia blog.

there is also a GPU used in device which process graphics to improve performance. its manufactured by broadcom communications. don't know exact model used in device but could be one from these : http://www.broadcom.com/products/Cable/High-Definition-Audio-Video-Graphics-System-Processors

Via fi... moremay ask a proof that arm11 can be stably overclocked to 1gzh, I want this phone too but considering it's CPU, I'm just a little bitsy worried. I got N81 before and surprisingly I was satisfied with its voice call quality, music player and all around sms/mms gadget. and then I bought galaxy spica a month ago bcoz its quite cheap mid range phone w/ eclair, well It got snatched few days ago, I'm worried though about the money value not the phone itself, now I'm opting to have HTC desire or N8, they may cost the same, HTC desire around 550 USD and N8 might cost 500 USD too. if it's true that N8 has a potential to exceed its current setting then I'll go with it if it's not, i'll just go with the flow of 1GzH snapdragon hype phones.

The touch pen can be used to reset the device without opening the battery cover...The mobiles are provided the slots where the reset button is hidden. Could be possible that N8 comes with the same idea where you do not have to open it up.
Some new pictures of N8. Screen looks quite bright.
I'm not so comfortable with the battery cover that needs to be screwed.I hope there is a forceful shutdown in case of a freeze so the only thing that will make me open it, is if the battery is bad. The battery is expected to last for 3years at least, I can live with that.
Mark, 05 Jun 2010Hi Sir, Thanks for your polite post, I think the N97 is one of Nokia's worst devices ever. ... moreAlthough i think i will stay with my HTC Desire, i think the N8 would still be a good device. I myself prefer Android but i will tell my sister who is looking for an upgrade from her N78 about this device. i am not sure if she like the other features but i am sure she will like the camera as she likes taking photos but does not have a good camera like i do. may i ask, how is the sensitivity of the touchscreen, how fast is the web browsing n does this phone lag like most of the other symbian devices do? example: n97, n78, n79, x6, 5800 xm, n many more.

Thanks for your polite post, I think the N97 is one of Nokia's worst devices ever. I agree the HTC device you have now is better. I also think the N8 is much better value for money than any android device out there now, even the best value of any phone.
So while I agree, the N97 was terrible, I think the N8 will be fantastic. Really awesome. Please check out this link for a summary of why the N8 will not be the next N97, but a fantastic device:
I would recommend anyone that is remotely interested to wait until it comes out, load it with Need for Speed Shift, then compare to any other device. Take an image, then compare to any other device. See for yourself, but I think you will be pleased.
Mark, 04 Jun 2010Hi There,
To each his own. But you are incorrect about Android versus S^3.
For example,... moreSir, have you ever had your hands on an Android device before? well, i was using n97. Symbian OS v9.4. then it started to become an a$$. lag, battery dies before one full day. media is normal but lags when u go into it. i did not complain. but i just traded it in for an Android device, HTC Desire and GOSH! it is so so good. with Qualcomm Snapdragon QSD8250 1 GHz processor, it is so smooth n fast. i did not plan to change my mobile but i got a job in a company that sells mostly Android devices. they gave me a good price so i thought, why the heck not give it a try? so i got it n it has very good looks, 50000++ apps for u to download, big ram n rom, extreme speed of web browsing, 7 home screens for you to add widgets that u like, nice bright 480 x 800 pixels, 3.7 inches screen with AMOLED 16m colours capacitive touchscreen, very awesome HTC sense UI, nice sensitive touch screen and also an optical trackpad. it also supports multi touch. 5 mega pixel camera is enough for me as i wont use it much, i have a slr cam. u said symbiam is better in sms n media player. i really dont agree with u. i think this device is much better than my old phone, the n97 because it has HTC sense UI. as for the outer look, many thinks that htc, or most Android devices win because it looks more like what an adult use. Looks more like a smartphone. even most of my friends says that.
Again sir, i am not a hater, i am just giving an opinion of what i think. i really dont want you guys to regret getting a symbian device like like me.
But i am sure the N8 would be fine too. PEACE=)
Tom-Helge, 05 Jun 2010Your still good after you have lost your warranty?.Don't troll buddy.. you already have your previous comments deleted by moderators. I advice keep quite now on.
For others, you all seems to be worried about battery if its replaceable or not, if yes then how to do so.
Answer is N8 is designed such that its battery can be removed easily. Its just locked by two small screws at bottom. Battery and design is such that it occupy minimal space between front and back panels.
Anonymous, 05 Jun 2010then it would not be a c am phone flagship of Nokia, right?Right. Then it should be a Real Nokia flagship.
