Rajesh, 31 May 2010Thats it...Now you read my comments...I never spoke about S3 or S4 or S5...I never said N8 is ... moreRajesh, CPU only is irrelevant. Experience counts. If you say the device is slow, you cannot leave the OS out of the equation. If the OS uses the GPU, then you cannot leave that out as well. If you do, nothing you say about the device, its specs, or how it will perform will make sense anymore. I agree that the ARM11 is not the fastest processor out there. But it does not matter. As long as the OS maxes out all of the benchmarks, the GPU can push all the screen real estate quickly, it is a good thing NOT to have a faster processor. Surely you must agree that it is the user experience that counts? Or would you rather have a slow V12 engine car, than a fast V6?

I have gone through GSMArena interview with Damian and did not see or come across any question on Nokia's ever trailing with technology ito CPU speed and RAM. Look at their so called N97 its always ever crashing, halting when on call, simply because there is 8 gig of picture and or music data which is quarter of its storage. Please GSMA when you get this slow (clock speed, RAM) handset from Nokia do test with half the of the 16 gig and tell us how its performing.

Mark, 31 May 2010Correct, but also, S^3 is even more efficient than previous versions. You can tell because S^3... moreThats it...Now you read my comments...I never spoke about S3 or S4 or S5...I never said N8 is supposed to run S3 only...what I said was specs are age old and supposed to be released last year...I specifically mentioned about 4G and future...do you think I give a damn if Nokia uses S3 now or later??? Reading people giving so much importance to N8 that too when in 6 months it will be a new technology altogether I mentioned what I had to mention.

Again I will call you Grand Pa because without reading or undertanding you came up with an attitude about GPU and linking it with S3. I never gave a damn about S3.

Future...was my point and 4G will use 1 Ghz up to 1,5 Ghz GPU with video graphich to download loads of data and then playing it flawlessly.

You are only drowned into the world of 600 or 680 GPU with S3 to decorate your thought. So Grand Pa...grow up and if you want to comment on anything just try to understand what the person want to say. You said your english is good...is this what you call a knowledge of good english...

Do you want to know the theoretical maximum speed for S^3 on current HW or do you need to know what the highest end hw is that S^3 supports. For the latter, full support for dual core A9 chips is present ( which is another step forward from A8).

And Rajesh, you haven't had a hands-on on the N8 right? You only saw the proto type on videos. Mind you - with two months left before the market release, I am sure that Nokia can fix any issues associated with it. And oh, do not compare a 680Mhz on Symbian with a 1Ghz on Android or WinMo - that is illogical. It is like comparing a worm found on your closet versus the worm that you eaten unconciously on your apple. Hehehe

If Nokia only put 680Mhz on N8, it is because that's what a MINIMUM SYMBIAN OS requires. Didn't you wonder why people clamour for 1Ghz CPU on Android? Or 800Mhz on WinMo? Because those phones will actually run slower on 600 Mhz - compare Omnia 1 with Omnia 2. It is illogical to compare Symbian to any other OS in terms of CPU requirement because Symbian DLL is much refined as comapred to the others. Symbian running on 1Ghz will over ru X10, I9000, or even Samsung Wave. I like the Wave so much, but I have to admit it.

Also, it is very unlikely I would be a grandpa, if I were into mobile technology, but I will take it as a compliment, since it would imply experience, level headedness and insight. Thanks Rajesh. Very kind.

                    Now ontopic again.

Your point was this is not a device fit for 2010, based on.... the processor! Oh infinite wisdom. So, mr genius, explain to us all here, the ones not interested in childish games, how you can ascertain the speed of this device, when it is heavily dependant on GPU, without taking into account the strength of this device.

Now, Rajesh, be sensible, and give me a proper response, if possible link to the proof you have, and thats that. Oh and one more thing, please behave yourself from now on....

Why do you bother so much on GPU on CPU? If you are actually using the phone, you can't feel the difference. If you do not want to buy it, so be it. Why bother so much on finding faults for a phone that is actually good. If you think that there is something better, go ahead and buy it. I just love mobile phones.

There are many examples that Android 2.1 cant run properly on 800 mhz cpu.. And second you said about N8 but dont get the real fact as I already said you are a ammature boy. Symbian^3 mainly runs on Gpu on Cpu. The Broadcom gpu in N8 is alone so strong that it can capture 720p videos and take picture from 12mp camera.. This fact clear says how capable the gpu on N8 is.
And now you compare Bada with Symbian^3 right.. Then please see your Bada cant multitask 3rd party application.Total Sms storage capacity is only a thousand.
And For your Kind Information Bada platform was already used in Samsung feature phones. But now they make it as a 'Smartphone for everyone' platform. I have already asked you many questions Bada related but you dont answer my questions and posting comments like kid. Even Samsung had not said that Bada is smartphone OS. According to Eldar Murtazin Bada is not a smartphone os. You dont answer me that it is possible to install theme on Bada or not. And it is possible to download contents from other sources not just from Bada store is possible or not.

I am using different kind of phones: Android, WinMo, RIM OS, Symbian, and iPhone OS. I am not a fan of any - objectively speaking, Symbian is the best. It doesn't have much of an eye-candy, but all the necessary stuff are there. I am sure N8 will be a best seller especially here in the Philippines where most people are Nokia fanatic. You can see that by how people clamour over clone Nokia phones. If it's Nokia here, that means it's good. In a country of 94 million, whose cellphone users surpass the 50% mark, N8 will be the new Super Star in the Orient Seas.
