Chad, 29 Apr 2010Okay, what's innovative about the specs?don't you know? Nokia is so innovative in making 2 versions of the same model phones.
for example, N95 and N95 8GB, due to N95's unusable small battery, Nokia took the lens cover out and put a bigger 1200 mAh battery in N95 8GB . lol :D
Hopefully, it will be the same of N8. Let's name it, N8 second edition. ha ha ha....
E72 easily lives a day with 3G on, reading mail, chating thought Fring, and it has TFT display.
Nokia and apple are not innovative, but nokia know what their customers better,
does it have threaded sms? Slide to unlock? Back button in web browser?
Anonymous, 29 Apr 2010Are you ignorant? Its an AMOLED screen. Amoled screen uses 40% less power than a TFT screen. A... moreAm I? You may be right. But the screen is NOT ONLY a battery killer. Always on 3G, processor, multi-tasking and a few others things too.
1200 mAh is simply not enough. For example, iPhone can last a day or 2 even with wifi on if you turned the 3G off. With 3G on, iPhone only last half a day.
Well, if you have to turn the 3G off to save the battery, what the use of today's smartphones then?
Well, I can guess N8 will last maximum 10 hours if you use push mail.
where are the loudspeakers located? is it the one beside the camera lens?
Chad, 29 Apr 2010Okay, what's amazing about this? Forget that it's from Nokia and compare it to everyone else. ... moreeverytime nokia announces an amazing phone and people like you who comes here in nokia forum who has nothing to say that apple is better..maybe you just can't accept the fact that nokia is the innovator of all mobile companies..probably you don't understand what the specs are..unlike iphone same old same old.
Okay, what's amazing about this? Forget that it's from Nokia and compare it to everyone else. The UI is lackluster, all the features have already been done before and this is coming out late in the year, and Android/Apple have MUCH more apps. What's the point of this device besides to give diehard Nokia fans a decent phone?
If it has OLED = one can see nothing under sun light. Why they chose this type of display. Looks like only to clean warehouse.
i loovee it. no 1 super smartphone in the world. no one beat it. i'll buy it no matter how..come quick to mama....
it's not so bad..n8 only best ever nokia have. but nokia should be more innovative and attractive. this unit a little bit too late and following another vendor. sorry..
why so many people hate this phone? ugly? yes. but look at the feature man..awesome. honestly the only thing disturbing me is the design. look like ugly betty. and no camera lens (they called camera smartphone). but overall i like it so (coz of it feature)
it's not that bad guys...but worst. why ?
1. lower cpu, 2. symbian os, 3. design, 4. nokia(for mid range is good, but smartphone? pls..no way)
It appears that Samsung dropped its Omnia HD and Nokia picked it up the idea, pleasing us with an even better product. Now Nokia is in the game again! :)
look ugly, interface bad also. Symbian (poor), any suggest for nokia multitouch. x6 is dissapointed. so this phone too. but feature is rock. confuse? no..better another samsung or sony ericsson.
Anonymous, 28 Apr 2010may be you have never used touch smartphones after all. because Nokia didn't have one until re... moreAre you ignorant? Its an AMOLED screen. Amoled screen uses 40% less power than a TFT screen. An amoled screen with 1200mah battery has a battery life equivalent to a TFT screen (like the Satio) with 2000mah battery.
Glad to see gsma changed the colour of the N8 main piccy..That other colour was not doing it any favours.
Anonymous, 28 Apr 2010FYI, the N8 does not use AMOLED, BUT OLED, big difference.Actually, the AM part of AMOLED refers to "Active Matrix", which is how the pixels are "controlled". The OLED (organic light-emitting diode) part refers to the technology the pixels are made of. So, there is no difference between AMOLED and OLED.
Imagine the OLEDs as a bunch of tiny light bulbs, and the AM (Active Matrix) as the light switch.
I hope this helps.
