Those who hate Nokia are silly. They jealous about the sophisticated spec of Nokia which SE and other brands cannot make into it. In Short, Nokia is the Boss in mobile industry!
Chad, 29 Apr 2010Okay, what's innovative about the specs?each every person is different and each one has different taste when it comes to phones..and like each every phone has their own distinct feature..it may not be the iphone killer coz there isn't..coz iphone is iphone, n900 is n900, and n8 is n8. But if ever this was made by apple i'm sure you would be saying good comments about it coz i think you simply hate nokia..
gsmarena is worong in some specs. there is NO LED video recording light as listed here. Also, there are NO Stereo speakers as listed here. Still, this is my next phone...
lol, hi you, yes i'm taling to you who made a bad comment about this bad life time battery. take a good look wouldn't you? Nokia E72 have 1500 mAh Li-Ion, and this phone 1200 mAh only, yes it's smaller mAh but it's Li-Po (Lithium Polymer) which is a better battery type. so i suggest this phone will last 1 and a half day with heavy user (like me heuheuehuehue) with single charge.
This really dose seem to be a very impressive device. I don't own a Nokia, I haven't had on for a long time. I'm just not so sure about the OS. I've never really cared much for Symbian based phones. Its a great OS for what it is, but I've never like the feel, or look of it. Peronally I think if this phone was Andriod equipped that'd make it so much more appealing. However I'm not one to shoot something down before I see it, but the new Symbian dosn't seem to stellar. I'm new the the Drod OS but, I really think thats probably one of the best ones out there, and with this things stats, it'd easily take the top spot on the charts
I'm so thrilled by the load of hardware and software features that comes with this phone. This phone is a must-have,I can't wait to get my hands on one.For those who call nokia a copy cat why not try the HDMI out-put or the Dolby or may be the usb-OTG.
it is promised to launch at P25,000. affordable enough considering its specs.
these all translates to low power consumption hence 1200 battery will do: oled, symbian os, wifi toggle, 3g toggle. usage is also a main factor.
Great phone with excellent specs, but by being Nokia it would come with a price tag in excess of US$1K+ as alot of other Nokia phones are highly priced than what they're worth. but still a great phone if you can afford it.
Guys, haven't you noticed it yet? Nokia N8 has a brand new set of icons. It's different from OVI touch icons found in N97/5800. Look at the screenshot from the actual device reviewed in mobile-review.com as well as the image on this page.
Im STUNNED by the Symbian^3 OS.........Awesome.........
Just what I waited for........Dream cell phone to have........Nokia Rules...!!!
very nice phone and its packed with tons of features i've always looked for in a phone, more power nokia! unfortunately, i cant w8 for its release, i think il go for the samsung wave instead and then replace it with the n8 upon its release, of course, still depending on my budget :)
Anonymous, 29 Apr 2010don't you know? Nokia is so innovative in making 2 versions of the same model phones. for e... moretotally agree..lol. Will available N8 32gb or N8 bla bla edition. i have suggestion. why don't we wait for next SE or Samsung release. and then wait for N79. must be better than all the rivals. lmao..
Recently there was a Q & A session held where Nokia representatives answered many interesting things. Hopefully this will answer many of the repetitive questions asked on this site...
Concerning the built in battery, Nokia wanted to create a robust, one-piece device that feels good in the hand, therefore the integrated battery that can not be replaced by the user. The solution regarding phone "freeze up" requires the press and hold of the power button for 8 seconds. Upon doing so will shut off the device much like a laptop.
The Nokia N8 is running on the ARM-11 680MHz processor and have a graphics accelerator next to a main processor. They claim some screens are running already now at 60fps on pre-production devices.
The camera sensor size is 1/1.83 and have 28mm wide optics from Zeiss with no cover. The materials on the camera are highly scratch resistant. Nokia's stand on omitting the cover was because they wanted to make the use of many social applications as seamless as possible. The camera does not have "Touch Focus". The slight touch of dedicated camera key activates the focus. Features such as "Face Detection" and "Red Eye Removal" are present. There is no video LED.
The actual available user memory in the ROM, device user memory, is 145MB.
The Nokia N8 has a unique USB feature called OTG (On The Go). Nokia will provide an adapter inbox to connect your USB memory sticks and hard drives. There is obviously a power limitation that the Nokia N8 can supply so some of the bigger hard drives will need an external power supply. You can copy big files from hard drives without PC. The max file size is 4GB.
The Nokia N8 will be running Flash Lite 4.0. This version of Flash Lite will be Flash 10 compatible.
Regarding the High Definition capabilities of the Nokia N8, video is recorded in stereo but only playback through HDMI (High Definition Media Interface) will be in 5.1 Dolby Digital Plus. The Nokia N8 will be able to play .mkv extension video files.
Im ssoooo gonna trade or replace my n86 with this one! Hmmm.. wonder how much it cost... really nice phone, nice features too... WICKED!
Anonymous, 29 Apr 2010everytime nokia announces an amazing phone and people like you who comes here in nokia forum w... morenokia innovator? r u kiddin me? nokia never be an innovator. Nokia always copy and follow. open ur mind and hear: when is Satio or Pixon release and out? and when nokia make 12mp and amoled ? think before talk. Dumber...
When i first saw video ad about this fone i was like WOW...but after i read the specs, i was like oh...ok. Don't get me wrong, I still like my N95 a lot if it's not so laggy most of the time. But N8 has a smaller battery then N97 and only 16GB compare to 32GB on N97...come on...why is the specs going downward? Don't even get me started on the design. I'd still get it but more likely will not be as happy with getting a N97.
