I think this is the real iphone killer..not google nexus one,but this definately is the one..my personal opinion now have changed.
1) Nokia N8
2) Google Nexus One
3) iPhone 3Gs
This N8 has got almost all the specs of a real smartphone.Not to say all those other handphones are not,but so far,this phone has got the most of a smartphone. But still, the Google Nexus One's processor and RAM are much better with 1GHz and 512MB. Personally, i choose Nokia N8 ! Welldone Nokia!

RAM is work memory for apps and sys,
ROM is base of Phone OS. If you want any change to ROM you must FLASH phone...

Irrespective of whether ARM II 680MHZ chip is good enough in today's current climate, every other manufacturer is releasing, or planning to release 1GHZ, 1.3GHZ, or 1.5GHZ snapdragons in their "coming soon" lineups for late 2010 / early 2011. Nokia used to dominate entirely, but historically they have been releasing less than best CPU's in their phones, and there's no good reason when others are already - if they can, Nokia can too, right? I Love Nokia, I don't ever want to change from them, but I am so glad some serious competition has arisen from Samsung, HTC, and with the ever-increasing thrust of Android as an OS too, I just hope they stop their complacency and start to release some phones that have "current" top-of-the-line, CPU's to go with their amazing phones and the amazing SYMBIAN OS.
As I started to say, irrespective of the 680mhz CPU being sufficient for today, what will my 680mhz be like in 6 months, not everyone can afford a new phone every six months, and WHY SHOULD US NOKIA fans have to use these lower-end CPU's when the 1GHZ snapdragons have been around for ages, and they are coming out in models already on sale, is it a price issue, who knows, but ultimately I will go with the best HARDWARE & OS that are available, I like many others have no loyalty...SAMSUNG with Droid running 1.5GHZ or dual 1.5GHZ, who cares whos phone it is as long its up to date, up to scratch.

i think it has a camera lens cover look at the thing under the camera i think it is the key just like the nokia n82 u slide it then it is.............................

BIG "B", 28 Apr 2010One thing i don't understand about the battery. why it only 1200mah? even no other nokia phone... moreit's more powerfull compering with 1500 mAh lithium battery, n8 battery it's made lithium polymer and it's lighter and more durable. Here what nokia says:

One thing i don't understand about the battery. why it only 1200mah? even no other nokia phone with 3.5 inch display had 1200mah. is it reliable for this monster phone which consist of xenon & other power eater feathers? may all of u think about that.

I have been using Nokia for the past 1 decade from the cheapest to the most exclusive phones made by them. I was tired of them now and wanted to wait for Iphone 4G but now they have tempted me again! Though, bluetooth v4 will be out by the end of this year so why not include it. Plus, resolution is a bit lower as compared to newer high end phones already available in the market from various brands.

andrew, 28 Apr 2010why dont this phone use snapdragon for better CPU as 1G instead of ARM11 as only 680M? WHY??because selling strategy :))
Soon N9, N10, N11 ... will be announced with Symbian^4 1-1,2-1,5 GHz speeds and HD pixel (like 16:9, 1280x720) resolution screens...

The Nokia n8 official website keep on changing the bluetooth version. An hour ago is bluetooth v2.1. Now it is Bluetooth v3.0. Its really confuse me. Stop it already Nokia, Jz make it as bluetooth v3.0....

people complaining about the processor need to calm down. processor speed is just one factor in how fast the phone is. If you havent noticed, all the phones with 1ghz processors are still being compared to the speed of the iphone, which only has a speed of 600mhz! How well you optimize the software matters a lot more then the raw power of the cpu. I think that 680mhz will be more then enough power to run symbian if they optimise the os enough.
