As for the other question, I think it's Phoenix or nothing. You used to be able to reinstall firmware with Nokia Suite but for custom firmware it's just Phoenix. I suggest doing a Google search, it takes a while until someone replies here. :-)

Me, 10 Feb 2016Where can I locate the nokia map on n8 I 'm not seeing the mape icon on my menu. Pls helpIt has to be in the menu or it's probably not installed. Did you maybe do a hard reset? If you did, Maps could be gone because of that.

AnonD-488718, 15 Jan 2016Hi does anyone know how to access the menu from the N8.My menu button is broken???I've got an excellent solution for you buddy! There's an app for symbian just like iPhone's assistive touch. Download this app 'Tap2menu' for Symbian and open and do the following.
X position portrait 285
Y position portrait 280
Xposition landscape 100
Yposition landscape100
size80
This is the optimum position and the orange button appears. now just like iphone's assistive touch you can open,exit menu by short press or long press it to see 'open applications' you can do all that you did with the original menu button. There you go! This is the best solution considering it's the 'only' solution.

I got my phone with Belle Refresh already in it, but if I had to reinstall firmware or had another N8 to play with, I'd do it. I guess it won't magically turn the N8 into a supermodern phone but it's supposed to make it the best it can be.

I tried to upgrade it onlin... moreNothing official exists any more, but if you know how to flash a ROM there is an archive of old Nokia firmwares on a website called www.mrcrab.net and if you search for RM-596 (that's the N8 product code) you'll find all languages and versions. Alternatively, you can try to install Delight firmware (just google it) and install it following the instructions on their website, people who use it say it's better than Belle Refresh.

Your best guess would be googling for them, maybe there are some on n8fanclub or on various forums. http://n8delight.blogspot.hr/p/downloads.html I see a few here but Microsoft apps are just "online installer" so probably useless.
