im so glad to have my N8 with me during my travels. beautiful sceneries and other things that captured my interest were all caught by the beautiful camera of this phone with enough justice, who needs the burden of a heavy slr cam around the neck?

so my suggestion for you would be N8 if you want camera or 701 if you want a new one

I am proud to be a nokia coustomer! in my point-of-view nokia mean's quality re-defined! only a middle class smart one chooses nokia? nowadays all the companies are using android except nokia? this clearly shows the companies attribute! there z a problem in every smart phone company but if battery z a problem then what d use of phone?

Hi everyone.
I m looking to buy a new Nokia N8, but quite confused coz it's an oldie now.
Also it's price tag is high compared to other phones which have a large screen (atleast 3.7) and ppi is less in this :210!
but i need a phone with nice touch, fluidity, reliablity, fully lag free and good battery backup(must).
So shortlisted only NOKIA brand.. and under it Lumia 710 and max i can stretch for is N8.
So folks kindly advise me which one to go for?
I really like mango os and it's fluidic nature can withstand it's limitations like no bluetooth transfer storage capacity and all..
But i need a decent battery backup i.e. 2 days with moderate use.
heard that N8's battery backup has declined with belle and some issues are also there.
Kindly throw some light, i need to decide quickly. :)

Al... moreI hav been using n8 since nov 2010 and I can tell you that it is an awesome phone. but if a camera is not really important to you then go for nokia 603/700/701 instead of n8 as they have newer processor and ram.
on the other hand if yoi can tolerate some of the limitations of win phone go for lumia 710 though not sure about the battery life on that. symbian has the best battery life and with belle fp1 on the newer devices like 700/701 and 603 the experience is totally lag free unlike many top end Droids. hope i answered your question.

still best phone for 1 yr & 7months. great camera. better battery life... my officemate wants to swap her iPhone 4s to my phone, i refuse coz iPhone 4s is very fragile & battery issue.
iPhone is worthless, nokia N8 is still alive.

I have Samsung galaxy s2 and I am thinking to buy another phone. But with this weak processer! I mean 680 MHz ! I think it will be slow as web browser so any idea from owners about the quality of speed of this phone?? Despite that I know Nokia isn't same as old time but still I love Nokia
N8 is older. not compared to SGS2. if u want nokia with faster web browser, buy latest nokia smartphone, not N8... im N8-00 belle user. best for me and i still love my phone for years.

never go for this phone, it hangs a lot even if the memory is empty, phone memory shrinks upto 40 mb with no reason and the mobile stops operating, my nokia account was also got locked after 2 months of purchase and nokia care was also unable to help me out.
So my final answer pls go for blackberry or apple or samsung smartphone rather then this shit otherwise you have to cry for a long time

AnonD-13049, 10 May 2012tried the SPB Mobile Shell Lite (free version) on my N8 - this is for those who are already bo... moreupdate ur phone os to nokia belle. its more add-ons, 6 homescreen with customized background/wallpaper both portrait and landscape view... if u want SPB Shell, purchased SPB Shell 3D. not SPB Mobile Shell, but dont update to belle. spb shell 3D compatible only with symbian ^3.

Pros
1.Big display (3.5 inches)
2.High screen resolution (360x640)
3.LED Display ... morei dont need to worry about N8 even in low processor, low ram, symbian & non-user removable battery, & you say this phone is high price?...
-low processor & ram? well, this phone is already told us that this is low-end smartphone but one of nokia's ultimate smartphone. low processor but good for me, runs smooth but have little lag if the battery is very low. it doesn't need dual core processor compared to android phones that needs dual or multiple core to run smoothly.
-non-user removable battery coz its prevent the battery separate from the phone if you accidentally dropped your phone to conc. pavement. this phone is more durable than iPhone 4 (thin glass housing cover) & Samsung Galaxy S (cheap plastic).
-symbian os is good os for nokia. i update to belle and my phone improves the battery life last up to 3-4 days (normal/moderate use) & 5-6 days (standby use), but slightly reduced phone performance. apps low price in nokia store.
-bad gpu? but runs HD games. i try playing HAWX HD & Asphalt 6 with my phone, they runs smoothly. haven't you tried this?
....and i purchased this phone in just $417 brandnew vs iPhone 4 $715 & Samsung Galaxy S $600. Now, you know which is one is expensive less?

By far the WORST smartphone I have ever owned! Do not buy! I've been stuck with mine for over a year and have taken it in for repairs 7 times.... AWFUL, features are nice but a lot goes wrong with it

One more thing, I hope some software expert out there develop a software or something that will use a part of Mass storage as virtual memory/storage for apps use. Just like in windows, hard disk space is used as part of memory or virtual memory.
How about the Nokia development team. Dare to take the challenge? =)

Hi guys,
I had this phone for more than a year and it is actually a great phone. Thanks to its cam and smooth OS. The transition of home pages is very fluid.
Belle OS is a very fine OS but I was disappointed coz there are somethings I can no longer personalize unlike in the Anna OS days.
Anyway, I have a query. My RAM keeps on shrinking at 0.3Mb to 0.4 Mb per week and I have not installed any other application except the cameraEFX from OVI store. I always clean up my call logs and messages every night before going to bed. However, when my RAM reached 91.3MB, it stopped. Meaning, it did not used up any RAM space afer that. Now, my question is, why is this happening?
By the way, I did some Nokia Belle reinstallation about twice and restored factory settings thrice. And from 124MB it keeps on shrinking until it reaches 91.3 Mb or 92Mb.
Thanks a lot, guys and keep your N8 even though you bought the N808 pureview monster phone.
