i noticed there's a purple/bluish spot on the picture i've taken when using my n8 into sport mode. is that because of belle update? just had my n8 updated a week ago & purchased my n8 two weeks ago.

We have already tried nokia care centre, they said it cannot be downgraded. Now you are telling another new story. Ha ha... Somebobody was tellling about leaked belle 111.040.0704 but no download link now belle 112.10.1404 for nokia 603,700 and 701. We can not understand what is going. Somewhere Ashok Soni made delight belle v5.2. Of course his software is good in many ways.
First of all you can flash a dead phone. You can revive a dead phone. Secondly, delight belle logo, introductory sound and animation is good. Thirdly, your phone will not send any sms, even after hard reset. It saves unnecessary deductions from network provider. Fourthly, you can lock your phone quickly, shut down, reboot with touchscreen. There are some more good features. The only thing is font, if he had default fonts. Then it would be better software.
One more thing he has not touched video player. Where we have to increase sound manually, not by touchscreen. If he can fix this problem too, then we don't need belle feature pack. Phoenix is ventilator and delight belle is oxygen. Ha ha....

We have already gone to nokia care centre, they told it can not be downgraded. Now again we have spent our valuable time and gas for nothing.

I think all of those who want to downgrade to Nokia Anna should go to a phones service and ask to reprogram the device and install symbian anna and not symbian belle (it won't cost more than 20$) or you can wait until nokia resolves the problems with belle.

Whatever, technology is in America today, tomorrow it will go to Canada. In both countries there is very high competition in mobile phone companies. That's why they are giving phone free for 2 year AT&T contract. Still there are majority of people they will not take this mobile. This kind of offer is common in North America. Every phone company do like that in North America. Nokia is very behind. First of all nokia should fix N8 problems, then only in the world, nokia will gain confidence. Now nokia's position in the world is in retardation motion. You never know it may completely stop. No doubt n8 is best piece of hardware. But without software what you can do. Nokia should also upload pr1.1 v013.016 and anna 025.007 on mediafire, 4shared.com and some other sites as .exe file or .zip or .rar or .7z files. So that individual can install software as per there needs. Then only they can say nokia is better. Otherwise, wait for some more time. Nokia will shut down. Employees would be laid off. We are suffering the you have to suffef too. Ha ha... Tit for tat.

when i updated my n8 a week ago to belle, i noticed that when im using sport mode when taking picture it produces blue/purple color on the picture. is it common to everyone when they upgraded it to belle? my n8 is brandnew just bought it 2 wks ago.

How's that 4 customer care? Nokia did better than offering a refund, they are giving you a refund and letting you keep the phone. Apple takes back the device and gives you your money without actually solving the issue. Instead they say they are not @ fault because it works in the US. Nokia gives you back you money, fixes the problem and lets you keep the phone. I think you owa Nokia an apology -_-"

Just install Custom firmware by using phoenix....
ther is Custom firmware released by Delight..Go for that
All problems will be solved...

my nokia n8 accidentally fell from my table 2.5 feet from the concrete ground. at my amazement it still works, am i expecting bad performance for the next few days?

Hi,
I have had terrible experiences in using my Nokia N8 device. This bad experience is a combination of faulty device & very poor repairing capability of Nokia care. I bought this device in April 2011 reading good reviews, i personally love the features of this mobile i think its one of the best mobile handset of its generation, but GOD BLESS YOU if you experience any fault with it.
Nokia customer care center (i have tried more than 1) is poor in capability & quality when it comes to repairing high end device. I have suffered recurring issues of auto rebooting of my N8 device right from the 1st month of usage & have submitted the device 4 times at Nokia care center. Each time they have returned the device by reinstalling the software & falsely convincing me that the device is repaired. This time i tried to ensure that the device is picked up by the Delhi Nokia HQ office team from the local Nokia care so that they personally inspect the device, for the same i had spoken to the tele officer before depositing my device at the Vile Parle (fones4u) nokia care center & i was assured that it would be picked up & inspected by the Delhi Nokia team.
However one the 3rd day of depositing i got a call from the Local Nokia care center stating that they did not find any fault with the device & that i need to have it collected from them, i immediately called the Nokia care customer service number and discussed the issue & to my surprise they too suggested me to collect the device & to continue using the device. Despite of me repeatedly asking them to have the device inspected by the Delhi team as the local nokia care center was in capable to identifying the issue i was unheard.
I am extremely disappointed at this unprofessional behavior of Nokia people. I shall NEVER recommend nokia to any one from hereon.

I agree with some people here that the least Nokia can do is to develop a feature pack specifically for N8, E7 and X7. Camera update must be included. The out-of-the-box camera software (with ^3 or anna) is better than camera update for belle.
A feature pack that will include all the functionalities in Anna plus, of course, with Belle's.
I already made a decision to buy N808 pureview but since with my experience in belle, I'm having second thoughts. This phone comes with Symbian belle with Feature Pack 1 (FP1). Belle had proven its unworthiness to me. So, it will be double jeopardy if I buy it.

I agree. Though functionality of the phone is smoother and a little bit faster, there are some basic features in Anna OS that are NOT PRESENT in Belle. For example, in Anna, you can view anytime you wish how much of battery life is left. In belle, only when you power off you can see the battery status, and sometimes this status doe NOT show up when you power down.
My N8 now hangs sometimes in Belle. Whereas before with Anna OS, my phone NEVER hanged.
In short, Symbian Belle is a BIG DISAPPOINTMENT to us who upgraded.
I fully regret why did I ever upgraded. And on top of that, I waited for a long time because I believed Belle is a promising OS with better functions and experience. But it turned the other way around.
As a whole, Anna is better than Belle.

N8 on belle is a downgrade. I recently bought an n8 with pre-installed belle os. While there has been improvements in the browser and works somewhat smoother, the camera doesn't produce pictures just as good as in s^3 and anna and the music player is quite horrible. Not only is the sound too soft, it is also the worst i have ever got from a nokia phone. My c6-01 and e6 which i haven't upgraded to belle has brighter pictures and a whole lot better sound..

I am stuck with pre pr1.0, belle and delight belle. It is very leghty process for pr 1.0, 1.1, 1.2, anna and you have to download software in Gb not in Mb. I have to keep my phone some time on ventilator. Ha ha.... What a fun by nokia.
