Mr. Ray I need ur suggestion regarding "soft reset".Hope u will suggest me ...Yestrday I have successfully downloaded belle on my n8 its working very good....bt I m facing some prblms....like I do not have continious autofocus in video mode, no resizeable widgets as promised by nokia that there will b 5 diff sizes .:(most of the app I have installed earlier have vanished but the mass memory (occupied with apps) is still as it is b4 with app .I want to free up mass memory by doing a soft reset .and m afraid if I do the reset I may loose belle frm my phone....as I dont want to download it again n again ...thanx in advance @ ray.:)

I am still on Anna. since morning I'm not able to surf the internet. when I select web it shows authentic. failed. and after very few seconds it showed a message regarding Disabled Enabled on home screen or something with option yes and no. I could not read the message and in hurry I pressed option no. what was that message. please help me..

can anyone tell me that which one is good between n8 or galaxy sl,,,,i have own n8 n i am very happy with it but my friend has bought galaxy sl n he is telling that my n8 is very hanging phone n ya hanging problem will solve after belle update or not ?

hi hope belle works well with you all,but with me mobile data connection not connecting.access denied.no connection.plz how to connect it to net.worked welll in anna.tried everything.settings redone,mobile data on.still no connection plz help....

Am reading the opinions of everyone here with a lot of interest. I have a C7 running Anna, but I havent upgraded to Belle cos I'm worried about losing a ton of apps I have on my phone, some of them from the old Symbian 5th edition days, running fine on Anna.
From what everyone says here, I'm a little confused whether the apps already installed on the phone are ok or disappear and have to be installed again. When updating from Symbian^3 to Anna, I didnt lose a single app. Can someone share some light on this? All my apps are installed on mass memory and not memory card, btw.
Many of the apps I have are cracked and some are simply not around anymore so downloading and re-installing again is not an option, not to mention time consuming.
Also, I'm a bit reluctant to give up .flv playback which i think is missing after the belle update.
If anyone can give me advice on whether to stay put or update to belle with specific input regarding the apps, I would be grateful.

That's correct. They will be rolling out another update/service pack to fix the many issues with the first release.

Google map not working without wifi switch ON, One bug, wifi must be switched on. only on, connection not neccercary.

I've changed my opinion about Nokia after this update crap that's happening... Apparently, every phone has a certain product code. They verify EVERY single code, MANUALLY i think, an enable or disable updating on it. I'm unfortunate enough to have a SWAP code (by swap I think they mean that the phone was replaced by another, and it did, because I had to repair, and I guess this is how I must pay them for the repair service, by wasting my precious time) so that means I have to go to a goddamn nokia service center JUST to get an update... So I must drive to that building and ask them for that update EVERY single time I have to format my phone's OS and reset its settings in case something goes bad? Way to go Nokia, punish us for buying your phones. C'mon, don't pay attention to us angry customers, just hide back under your rock and think of more schemes to whip your customers with.

The other issue is that i cannot log in to m... moreDid it prompt you to put the password of Nokia accnt @ the ending part of the installation of downloaded Belle??? It's always advised to be monitoring your phone screen during its update so as to quickly respond to any command. Call Nokia customer care to check out what's wrong with your account, & possibly get them give you another slot for a new account. It might help.

You know after restart phone takes you to ovi where you key in uour user name and pin, same happens with the mail client and thus am missing on my mail updates ie yahoo, ovi and gmail, any one has a solution to that? Was thinking of going to ncc but problem is they want to stay with my fon for a week, who would be so mean to take my fon for a week, id be a wreck, am attached man

Just updated to Belle but am facing a lot of lag which I did not find using anna please help and also the phone memory seems to be 85 mb even without not storing anything on the same.Please help.

Hi Ray and guys please assist i have updated my n8 to symbian belle but now i am having a problem with connecting to the internet on my nokia suite 3.3.86 via bluetooth error "failed to connect to the network.the modem is in use by another application or it may not be configured properly" i have check for application on my phone that is using the internet but nothing in on please help

Anonymous, 08 Feb 2012yes it is a smart phone but its very disappointing because it really can't carry out everythin... moreHard reset the phone by pressing the power button for 8 seconds. The phone shuts down. Then you can restart as usual.
