after using both platform which is android and symbian belle, belle is still more ef... more Well, I agree with you, Android runs better on higher specs and needs them to run as smoothly. I have have an N8 and an HTC/Droid phone. I think the N8 with Belle will be a great combo and very usable. The ram and cpu will be very good after reviewing the various forums and videos with the "unofficial" installs on N8s out there.
To Rays point, it may be too little too late, but it'll still be an outstanding value with exceptional connectivity and usablilty. The N8 is still available, this too says something about its viablity as it's been in the market over a year.
Phary, 06 Nov 2011Who can help of ? My Nokia N8 when I update it to anna it stop working . What can I do ?you need to di hard reset - volume down key, menu key, camera key and on/off press all together until you see nokia hands
Well its been a year and my N8 continues to impress. Ordered a HD media player and got a broke one. Having some friends over, what can I do? Well hooked up my N8 to the tv via hdmi. First time I've done it since Anna update. I was blown away by the new interface. This thing really rocks. The N8 is great
hi ray
after using both platform which is android and symbian belle, belle is still more efficient on lower cpu and gpu... Hell angry birds lags bigtime on my android 600mhz cpu and adreno 200 gpu.. Only good thing in android is ui and thats what many people are blind of. Im not saying that android is not a good os but its not performing well in low cpus...

Question for Ray?
All things considered, what would be your top 5 smart phones out there, and although I know it's very pricey, what do you think of IPhone 4S?
How to find out photos taken in by this mobile when switched off all the photos and Videos hide somewhere as the required spaces are still being full as in storage but the videos and photo are not being traced in mobile either in file or folders of the application an office
AnonD-10880, 06 Nov 2011Wrong comparison. N8 is like fully load bomber and N9 is like fighter. N8 is slower, but you ... more N8 is a bomber, N9 a fighter: good analogy. Guess I want the super fighter! lol
At the end of the day, for me, faster hardware is always a plus....however, please don't take some features away, lessen others, and double the price!
At this point I loathe the day I replace my N8.
Hey i upgrade my n8 with symbian anna...bt it's not switching on now..it has stuck with the name NOKIA on display...wat to do...???
hi friends shortly nokia n8 has upgrade to mango os

Ray, Martin, Suhanoo and other users out here, I just got a doubt n wanted to share with ... more@ N8 and me
SPB shell has been available for quite some time now and many people have wondered why Nokia didn't emulate SPB's UI in the first place. However, Symbian Belle is around the corner and many people who have flashed their N8's with the leaked version have nothing but good things to say about it.
To me though, it's too little too late. I've already gone over to the dark side and got an Android phone after Nokia announced the death of Symbian by 2016. I've still got my N8 as a keepsake and to occasionally use it for watching videos via HDMI on my HD TV.
All the best.
Ray

AnonD-7455, 06 Nov 2011 I have to disagree with you on this one Ray. Just an increase in specifications doesn't me... more@ martin042068
Thanks for your input but let's face it the N8 is lacking in the hardware department. The biggest drawback being it's low RAM count and slow CPU. I know people keep harping on that Symbian doesn't need a fast CPU or loads of RAM but, the N8 does show signs of strain now and then and there is a definite lag especially with kinetic scrolling.
A lot of Android phones have got 1 GHz + CPU's but not all. The Galaxy Ace has only got an 800 MHz chip and the HTC Wildfire has got only 528 MHz of processing power to play with which proves that Android doesn't necessarily need high speed CPU's to run.
Onto the missing features then. The FM transmitter is a useful function but because the power of the transmitter is so low the actual audio quality is terrible. There's nothing that can be done about this due to legal requirements.
USB-on-the-go is also useful and would be missed, I'll agree. The 12 MP camera I wouldn't miss and would settle for 8 Mega pixels if it meant having a better CPU, more RAM and a better GPU.
When the N8 finally gets Belle it still won't be a competitor to Android due to the distinct lack of third party developer interest. After all, it's still Symbian under the hood and many developers have already abandoned the platform with more to follow.
All this is purely academic now because the N9 isn't being officially sold in my country anyway, so I won't be getting one.
Best regards.
Ray

I thought it was common knowledge that the N9 is doomed to failure since it's release. To buy an N9 is to buy a dead platform.

In future, if you want to disagree with me then kindly show some respect and watch the attitude.
Thanks.

Ray, Martin, Suhanoo and other users out here, I just got a doubt n wanted to share with u.
1 day before I installed SPB Shell(free) from OVI on my N8. wat i observed?
1.The UI is super smooth and How Cool IT IS man.
2. HELL of a Customizable.
3.Contact n other SCROLLING is a breez like Samsung android bigies out there.
4.I liked the UI n showed off with my frens.
Now the doubt is Wat the F______ nokia is doing with Symbian. A thirdParty App can make this much change to exprience then Why Nokia can't.
Nokia u just Declared Symbian Dead n went on honeymoon with Windows who will take care of ur trusted Symbian users out here. We all have a best Piece of HardWare in our hand that also low RAM,low Processing And Nokia Who take there USers for Granted.
Thats why Samsung n Google Rocking everywhere.
Pls do share ur opinions.
Regards.
